I have been going to Ritz nails for about 3 years since we moved to fullerton. Even though the ownership has changed, I will continue going there. Amy does an excellent job on my nails and I am always getting compliments. The salon is nice and clean. Sometimes I am not sure as to what color to pick and Amy always comes thru in helping me decide. On special occasions I want a design on my nails and Amy does an amazing job. So just because there is a new owner I will stay loyal as long as they employ friendly staff. read more

Arrived at 5:00 pm for a fill/pedi. Was seated for the pedi fairly quickly. Not the best pedi, but not the worst. About 10 minutes after pedi was finished they started my fill (6:30 pm). By 7:10 she was done, I kept trying to show her my nail was thin, and just odd shaped but it was after closing time and she was done. Sure enough as soon I got home the nail broke just by grabbing something in the fridge. Next morning I went back as soon as they opened & showed my nail to the only male in the shop, and his response was "what did you do?" He was so rude, I can't explain it. After I insisted, they did fix my nail at no charge, but it did take me showing him a side of me, no one wants to see! If you want good customer service, this is not the place to go! read more

Five stars all the way. Tell you what, I think it's the first time I've been to a nail place where I felt pampered and at ease, and I didn't even have an appointment. From the outside, the salon looks a little shabby but inside, the place looks clean, well-organized and welcoming. They have you sign in at the front with your name, your phone number, and the time you came in. They offer you water or hot tea before the start of the service. Cathy, the owner, is very involved with the guests unlike most places where the owners just leave everything up to the nail technicians. On top of that, she checks your nails at the end of the service to make sure her technicians did a good job. I don't usually care much for the massage function on the nail chair because at most places it seems to be more bothersome than relaxing. Theirs, however, seemed to be of a more high end version. I was particularly impressed that my nail technician Holly removed the nipper and cuticle pusher out of a sealed plastic bag in front of me. It gave me the assurance that they stressed the importance of cleanliness and proper sterilization of their tools. Suzanne also did a great job painting my toe nails. I opted for a gel manicure and pedicure. I had a particular design request on my fingernails that they were able to carry out beautifully. Getting your nails done is expensive these days so I only get them done during special occasions. Excellent place to get your nails done! I usually do a french gel manicure, which runs $28 for all the bells and whistles (massage, hot towels, aromatherapy neck pillow). When I get my nails done here it usually lasts 3 weeks, which is longer than it has ever lasted anywhere else. The staff is super nice too! Everyone (including the owner) makes a point to get to know your name and to make sure that you are happy with everything they are doing. The place is a little hidden behind a Verizon, but it is an awesome place to get your nails done! (Oh, and I have never had trouble when I walked in without an appointment. I LOVE THIS PLACE! This is my regular nail salon. I just moved to Fullerton a few years ago and was on the hunt to find a regular nail salon. I tried just about every nail salon within a 10 mile radius of my home. This is the place for me. The salon is clean and the girls are fast but good. My gel manicure lasts at least two weeks (but usually much longer). And my pedicure usually lasts a month. The reason this place stands apart is the fact that I can be honest. I had a not so hot gel manicure my last time in (I am still getting to know all of the staff). So when I made my appointment this time I asked Kathy if I could have someone else do my gel manicure. She did not make me feel bad for my request and did her best to accommodate my request and time preference. Very professional. I like the fact that I am in and out in usually less than an hour for a gel manicure and pedicure and the job is fantastic. read more

NEVER AGAIN I have been going to this place for many years with no complaints. After they got a new owner I still continued to support them. The last couple times I've gone I have had a little issue with how my pedicure or manicure was handled but would let it go, and would continue to return. Until recently. I went there last week for a mani pedi. My manicure was so painful! I told her many times she is hurting me with the buffer, but she wouldn't stop. In the end I was bleeding from 5 fingers due to the skin she pulled off from the buffer. She apologized, however, my nails were swollen for four days after with lots of pain. I am done with this place. This is not how customers should be treated, especially when told that you are being hurt. In addition, there were no other customers there while I was there. read more

So so disappointed, I gave the new owners a chance 2x but sadly they will never do quality work or have the attention to detail that the previous owners had. The first time I tried the new owners my French tip gel nails started peeling the same day I got them done. I still wanted to give them another chance, I took my niece to get a manicure and pedicure. The manicure was done horrendously, they didn't even paint her nails evenly, it looked ragged and like it was done by a kid. Her nails were not filed properly or evenly. When I noticed, Vee decided she would "fix" the polish. She just put another layer on top and another clear coat. It was still awful. I was clear that I wasn't happy and they didn't care, they didn't apologize or try to offer to do it again. I was so upset. Unfortunately I had already paid or I would have demanded a redo. It was my fault for not looking as they were doing her manicure, I was enjoying my massage so I didn't keep a close look. Her toes were not any better. Such a shame, wondering if anyone knows where Kathy and her girls went. So bummed, my search for a new place begins. read more

My finger nails are all different shapes with different pigment levels on all the nails. It wasn't great and I would not recommend this location for regular mani/pedi. read more

By far, the best experience I've had at a Nail Salon in years! They do a lot of things right here. For starters, no annoying chatter among the ladies while working on you. It's quieter and more respectful to customers. They also offer refreshments with your service (water, tea, candy, etc.), as well as hot or cold neck wrap. That extra step is thoughtful and makes a difference. Other pluses: The place is clean, tools are all sterilized, and the ladies are thorough/do good work. I'm very happy to have found this place! I didn't have an appointment, but the sign outside clearly said walk-ins welcome. As I walked in I was greeted by the owner who was chatting it up on the phone. She asked me what I needed done and if I had an appointment. Sadly,I was an appointmentless girl in need of a pedicure. She told me that I needed one and to come back later because they were busy. I walked in for my appointment right now and they were all working on people and I said I had an appointment at 4:30. Vee said I know but people walked in. I would not recommend this nail salon at all. My daughter goes here and has had good experiences but has often told me that she Witnesses customers returning because they were unhappy with their service. I thought I would try the salon for dipped nails because of my daughter's good reviews. Unfortunately I became a unhappy customer. After 2 days, two of the nails came completely off and when I returned to get them fixed was not met with professionalism. I had to return the next day because another nail came off. OMG this place is awesome. It's the best nail spa I've ever been too. The owner Cathy is AMAZINGLY friendly and so is the staff. They offer you cold water or hot tea and bite size chocolates. Cathy is attentive and before you pay she looks at the work and ask you if you're happy. I read a bad comment about Susan and stated to ask for someone else but I'm glad I didn't she was wonderful. I wish I could give them negative stars. This use to be my and my sister's favorite place before until management changed. Before it used to be jam packed and now there is not even a fly flying there. The new owner does not care, is not around and the customers are treated so poorly. Hate to go there. The young lady who did my pedicure finished my pedicure in 15 min, when I told her I want basic pedicure she started mumbling in her language. Then after few seconds she asked me if I want scrub and as I said NO she started mumbling even more louder in language I didn't understand. The lady who was doing my manicure was doing a good job and trying to calm her down. In the middle of my hand creme massage she wanted me to pay with my oily hands. I asked her to wait and she was admanant, rude and demanding that she has to leave and does not want to stay even 1 minute past 6'clock. I asked her to wait for a minute and she threw tantrums and went at the back of salon and then out of no where stormed at me for not making payment when asked for. As of three weeks ago, I had to change my review of this establishment. I've been coming to Ritz Nails every 5 weeks for the past 5 years. It was my go-to nail place. Kathy recently sold the business approximately 3 week ago and I am quite shocked at the immediate changes. When Kathy was the owner, there was a no-wait time. She managed the manis and pedis very well. Moreover, she established a relationship with each of her customers, knowing us all by our first names. Continually, we were always offered a warm/cold pillow, water or tea, and some mini candies. It truly was a relaxing time when there. A time amongst girlfriends! I mean, she even invited her returning customers to her Chinese New Year celebrations. Kathy was truly a gem. However, with the recent changes, I am beyond disappointed. Let me just break down my last experience here: I arrived at Ritz Nails 1 week after Kathy sold it. The new owners appear to be friendly but no where near as friendly as I had become accustomed to, which I let go. I made an appointment 3 days earlier for 3:30pm (gel mani and regular pedi). Once I checked in, the young lady asked if I had an appointment and I said yes. She told me to have a seat and that it would be a couple minutes. To my surprise, I had to wait (gasp!) 25 minutes before being seated in a chair to remove my gel polish. "Okay", I think, "New owners, just trying to get a handle on it but 25 minutes is a long time to wait WITH an appointment." I proceed to stay and hope that things would take a turn for the better. (I was wrong) Fast forward to pedi time, approximately another 20 minutes - keep in mind, the foil still on my fingertips, I sit down for my pedi. Approximately 10 minutes pass and one of the darling ladies begins on my feet, again foil still on my fingers, the lady working on my feet apologizes and passes me a nail buff and tells me to remove the foil myself. Hmmmmmm. I proceed to do it, but am really starting to get upset. At some point, once pedi was complete and about 45 minutes later, the (new) owner begins to work on a WALK-IN guest - while I am still waiting for my gel mani. Two of the ladies told her that I had been waiting since 3:30pm and it is now 5:00pm. The new owner looks confused, worried and then approaches me and asks if I can wait. I tell her that I cannot (I don't think that I was being unreasonåable). With the old gel finally off my finger nails (because I scratched them off myself), she asks if I can come back tomorrow (Saturday) and she will give me a 10% discount off my gel manicure. I sit there, contemplate what unraveled in the last hour and a half, and tell her that I cannot. You'd think the story stops here, but it doesn't: I proceed to the cash register to pay for my pedi. I hand the new cashier (younger lady) my credit card and she slides it and puts the price in for $39 instead of $29. I notice this error on the receipt and point it out to her. She attempts to void the transaction, but she looks frantic and says it's not working. She proceeds to give me the receipt and asks me to sign. I tell her that I need to know that the previous transaction was voided out before I would sign the receipt. She stumbles with her words and starts to play with the credit card machine. She tells me to wait a moment and goes to the owner for assistance. The owner, who is working on a customer yells at her, and she comes back. She plays with the credit card machine some more and then just stares at me. At this point, it's nearing 6pm (remember my 3:30pm appointment for a gel mani and reg pedi.......only to leave with a pedi??!?!) and I am really upset. I try to stay polite though. The young girl then goes back to the owner, the owner walks up to the cash register/drawer pulls out cash and gives it to me. Hmmmmm. Ok. I finally leave around 5:54pm and search for a local walk-in nail salon that I will make my new home.........Can you blame me though? I have never in my life been asked to come back another day after having an appointment and having taken off the nail polish myself. Kathy certainly wouldn't allow it to happen. If I emotionally step away and look back on the situation, I can see how the new owner just lost control of managing the appointments - but I, as a paying customer, cannot let the cycle of events go. There were too many mistakes that day to warrant my return. read more

The tech was so rude and I witnessed other techs being so rude to an elderly woman. She was done and i was out the door in 30min. To most I guess this is good but to me I know it usually takes at least 45min to 1 hour so I'm missing 30min of service. She literally rubbed my hand for 30 seconds. she also filed the tops of all my nails at the end which is weird for a gel manicure, pretty sure they will chip sooner than later due to that. I wish my experience here was better so that this could be my go to place. A friend of mine told me about this place and I decided to try it out since its closer to my home. My overall 1st experience was 5 stars! They were so on top of making you feel important and taken care of. They asked if you wanted water, they gave you a warmed weighted pillow so that you can relax, and just took care of you. The owner was awesome and made sure that you were having a good experience. Nancy did my nails and it looked great! She was able to add the design I wanted and made sure it looked perfect. Since my experience here was so wonderful and my nails lasted for so long I decided that I would bring my bridesmaids here and get all our nails done for my wedding. Bad idea!!! My 2nd experience, I was talking to my girlfriend about how when I travel my gel sometimes changes color. Not blaming anyone just telling her about my experience. We were talking about how odd it was and the lady doing my friends nails said "no you did not get gel" and I was taken back since I know what I got and she continues "gel doesn't change colors so you got regular" she continued. First it was none of her business she could have commented, but don't tell me what I got and did not get. So finally I am getting my nails done and I should have paid attention. The girl did not cut my cuticles, she made all my nails so short, my nails just looked awful and when I said something she said "well you should have gotten acrylic". Just straight out rude. Well after 3 days it looks like I've had my gel on for 2 weeks. During my vacation my gel stained and changed colors (like what I was telling my gf). I uploaded photos. I get my nails done about once or twice a year. And I try to go to a different salon. I saw the great reviews for this place and a friend and I decided to try it out on a Friday afternoon. We got here around 5:30 and they started our nails around 5;45. My friends got Lee (sooooo nice and sweet love her). I got susan She is NOT a very happy lady. Very very poor attitude. She looked like I inconvenienced her the entire time. I asked her for thin nails and she stated "if they break don't come back to me". I wish I would have asked for someone else at that point. Although she did do a decent job on my nails I couldn't help but have my experience ruined by her. The place was basically dead since they had 3 back-to-back cancellations. It was 6:47 when they put our nails to dry. By 6:52 (I checked the time) they literally shut down the entire place and told my friend and I that they were closed and next time to book an appointment!!! we weren't even out of the sidewalk when everyone basically ran to their cars and went home. My nails were still wet and 2 chipped getting into my car. I had such high hopes for this place. I would come back for LEE but that's it. And if I ever do come back which is super slim ill make sure to book an appointment with enough time to dry my nails. read more

Bright, clean, happy nail salon w spa chairs and whirlpools for feet. They always ask if you want a hot or cool neck pillow, too. I've been going here for 10 years or so and they do a wonderful job and play relaxing music. I always call ahead and make my appt and Cathy knows I am a bit particular about my pedis. I want someone gentle on my toes and great w strong massage on my legs and feet. I would say most of the gals are good but if you are particular like me, then I recommend calling ahead to get the type of manicurist you prefer. I recommend Sunny or Mary.
