Went twice recently when the Jukebox Legends were playing. Had a wonderful time. Donna took care of our seating and Felicity was our fantastic waitress! All I can say is I won't go back. Very rude. From the hostess to the bartender. I left and realized I left my salad called and they threw it out right away. Our group was going there for a year for burgers and bingo. Tonight was the worst treatment we've had specifically Hannah she was rude And threatening we had 15 people scheduled. 2 canceled and she came to my table and said that she won't sit us ever again unless we have a full group of people! We were at a table of eight we didn't know that there was going to be an emergency, but the place was not crowded. There was empty tables everywhere and she had the nerve to come out in front of the table and everybody and mentioned this to me. If she had any respect or had any leadership skills, she would've pulled me aside or if there was people waiting to get in she could've come up to me and asked if there were a way to move us to another table, but she never came up To me with her concerns only with her nasty attitude not once did she thank us for coming, didn't check on us throughout the evening. She was more worried about the Girl Scouts selling cookies in the hallway. The door was open and one of our table in the front were saying they were cold. Can you please close the door and she said no! Went for lunch on the recommendation of friends who usually go for drinks. At lunch time, it was almost empty and the decor is dark and dingy. I am sure however with a bar full, it probably seems a more exciting place. The food was quite pedestrian and the best part were the drinks. read more

Came here last Tuesday for their customer appreciation day and we had such a good time. We started off with the chicken wings with garlic parmesan sauce with a side of the hub sauce. They were fried perfectly and the two sauces complemented each other so well. For our entrees we went with the steak and ribs. My boyfriend really enjoyed his steak. They even top it with a garlic butter that was delicious. The ribs were huge and were fall off the bone tender. The sauce was just right (not too sweet) and the mac and cheese that came with them was Mac and cheese perfection. Next time I'm definitely ordering a side of mac and cheese even if the meal doesn't come with it. It was nice and bubbly when it came out and I love that it's not a dry Mac and cheese. This place will definitely be a regular on our restaurant rotation! Our server was also amazing. I've been here twice and both times service and food were awesome. On this night my husband and I sat at the bar on a Thursday night around 10pm. We enjoyed drinks, food and great company from the other patrons. The place doesn't look like anything special but it's a good time. We really enjoy coming to Riv's, the atmosphere is fun, the service is friendly and the food is great. The menu offers a lot of your typical pub, sports bar fare and there are always great weekly and happy hour specials. Lots of TV's for your sports needs and nightly music from various bands all week, this is definitely a fun place to be. Last visit we came for their Wednesday Steak Night Special which is so good and such a great deal. For 24.00 you get a salad, a soup, an app and the steak of your choice. I love to get the Wedge Salad, French Onion Soup, Coconut Shrimp and a New York Strip Steak, amazing. Also I'd be remiss if I didn't give some special props to our favorite waitress, Fee, who is always super nice and attentive and made us feel right at home from our very first visit here. So happy we discovered this spot and it will continue to be a local favorite for us. read more

An underappreciated position.. Hostess...WELL NOT TODAY!!! My husband and I were there on Friday 10/10/25 and the place was hoppin! There was atleast a 45 minute wait. We didn't mind because we wanted to listen to music so we waited. I have to tell you how appreciated and just wonderful Hostess Hannah is!! She apologized for the wait and kept checking in on us. Even had fun with us showing us where to get a drink from the packed bar. SHE is THE BEST and a credit to your staff!. Hannah was grace under pressure and an all around sweetheart! Give that girl a raise!! Even kept checking on us after. She was just wonderful! Can't wait to see my favorite hostess again. :) Food was also great and music was so fun! My friend and I felt discriminated against - we were the only non-white customers in the place and everyone else seemed to be getting served or attended to before us even though we had gotten there earlier. Really solid place in Toms River for food. I came during Tuesday where their ENTIRE menu has HALF off. Honestly that kind of deal is really hard to beat. We were getting apps and entrees for less than 10 bucks each. The food is really solid and satisfying, I'd be happy to pay full price. There was so much food we had to take a good amount home. There was enough for multiple meals. The service we received was also really great too. They were quick, friendly and very professional. They also have specials for every other day of the weekday as well, which I would love to explore. They are open late as well, until 2 AM, which is really great. They know how to run a bar, which is that you're open when you tell people you're going to be open, and don't just decide to close it down early because you wanna go home. Monica was our bartender, she was very friendly, attentive, professional, informative and nice. I ordered an appetizer of wild caught Alaskan salmon bites- delicious!! My husband got a Jersey burger and I got grilled boneless chicken bites w HUB sauce, my new favorite sauce! Sweet, tangy with a little spice to it. Prices are fair. There was a band playing everything from Motown to 70's and 80's. People were dancing and having fun. It's a bigger ( but not too big place) so the tables were quieter - than near the band. I love the decor and vibe there. Many TV's with a variety of sports. This is most likely going to become our neighborhood get away for good drinks, food, fun. Riv's is great. They have such a large menu and have an amazing special on Tuesday where food is 1/2 priced. Everything was so amazing my favorite was the loaded tater tots. They also had Tito drinks for happy hour. It's always so lively inside and they have live entertainment. I was expecting the tots to come out less than crispy being that they were loaded but they were crispy and the pork on the cuban was very nice. I get it that on Tuesdays. You're very busy because of your half off dinner deal. However, I think asking to leave the olives off. The top of nachos is not a change. I know you guys don't want substitutes. But what if I was allergic to the olives? What if I didn't eat beef? I couldn't get the nachos with just cheese on it. This is just silly. I love this place! Super fun (always something going on) and staff is amazing. There is a bartender, a man about 30 who is fabulous, he is accommodating and always remembers us. We went on a Monday for bingo night, which I had my doubts about assuming it would be absolutely boring, instead I had so much fun, had the mussels, they were very good. Went on a Wednesday for steak night, it was pretty decent, certainly not Peter Lugers but absolutely worth it and I did enjoy my meal. Went back on Friday for dinner and to watch the band, the tuna appetizer was excellent. If you are looking for a local place to eat and have a few drinks I highly recommend Rivs. read more
