MJ's in Bayville is one of my favorite waterfront spots in the area. I love taking advantage of all the beautiful views this area has to offer, and MJ's never disappoints. The outdoor seating area is spacious and includes a covered section, which is perfect for staying cool on hot summer days. One of my favorite features is the beach area where you can relax in a chair and even dip your feet in the water while enjoying the view. They also have a separate outdoor bar and live music (on Sundays), which creates a fun atmosphere throughout the season. I usually order a burger, and as a regular visitor, I was excited to see some new additions to the menu this time around. The food was great, the service was friendly and attentive, and as always, I had a wonderful time. MJ's is definitely one of my go-to spots for good food, waterfront views, and summer fun. read more

Went for a quick dinner and sat outside with our little poodle. It was windy but we were about five feet from the waters edge! My wife had the Kale salad with salmon and I had the "drunken" chicken Parm (pink vodka sauce). Both dishes were excellent and I have enough leftovers for tonight's dinner. Found a new favorite here, California cheese steak, some inconsistency with different bread but was delicious and fresh both times. The onion rings are great too - while onion not chopped. Service is great! And a nice view of the bay while you eat. read more

I would highly recommend the fresh homemade turkey burger which they serve topped with cheese, onions, and peppers. It was delicious.

This place is situated in such a beautiful place. Great, place to sit and enjoy a cold beer right on the waterfront. Very dog friendly, and the live music was awesome. As for the food, I'll make this very simple and easy to understand. Nachos-average, French Onion Soup- cheese was great, everything else wasn't. Sirloin steaks 10oz -dry, Volcano burger-very good except for the pickle that looked like it was laying around the kitchen for a day and somebody found it and served it to me. As for the service, absolutely bad . We walked in through the outside exit and as I'm walking in I ask a worker, " do we sit anywhere or do we get seated" and he said we could " sit wherever we wanted" which we did. I walked up to the outside bar and got some drinks, went back to my table and waited for somebody, anybody to come with menus for us to look at. So we waited and waited and waited, we waited a good 20 minutes before I had to actually get up and walk into the restaurant to ask for a menu. We come to learn that I guess everybody has to go into the restaurant even if you want to sit outside and let the hostess seat you which is fine but how the hell are we supposed to know that? There was waitresses in and out serving food so you would think they would've let us know something but instead they let us sit there in the food serving area looking stupid waiting on service that non of them had plan on giving us. When she finally got to us she didn't even ask what we wanted for drinks. Granted we had already been through 2 rounds of drinks before I even got my own menu but I don't only driink beer. I wanted water as well but, no drinks was offered. Although I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place I really didn't want to be there so long. I had a long drive back to Pennsylvania, and I was stuck here waiting for waitress service and food. read more

I visited this bar for the first time and the security staff made the entire experience uncomfortable. All nine (???) of them paced around aggressively, even blocking the bathroom hallway until I had to loudly ask them to move. Later they borderline jumped a man who simply pulled up a barstool after returning from the restroom, escalating into a completely unnecessary physical altercation. It was hostile, unprofessional, and unsafe for those nearby. If they need something to feel important and are bored get a different job. You're there to help protect people not the opposite. It was a disgusting example of abuse of power. That man did nothing to deserve that. read more

While Visiting some friends we decide to stop by for food & drinks. Drinks we had the Red Sangria by the pitcher it was good, nice taste & not very sweet. Appetizers we tried the Calamari not bad better when adding the lemon & salt, felt like it needed it & a French onion soup it was good. Main dishes I had the Pasta w broccoli & added chicken , this was decent good amount pasta taste wise it was a bit bland felt like it needed some flavor, maybe some salt. Drunken chicken parm was good, sauce was not bad creamy tasting. Rigatoni a la vodka w added chicken, also good. Good size portions, they have a decent size menu with a lot of options, we didn't get to enjoy the water views as it was a rainy day but maybe next time seems like it's good views. this place has a great location, we got right in. it was pretty busy for a friday night. Live music playing and bar busy. I started off with a modelo draft and some buffalo wings, honey thai wings and a bavarian pretzel. Both were delicious, wings were really good and pretzel was great with the cheese dip and mustard. She was smart, witty, funny and serious all at the time. I ordered a California Roll. She brought me chop sticks and I told her I never used them before. I declined naturally and enjoyed the roll. MJ's Restaurant Bar & Grill in Bayville allows leashed dogs at their outdoor grassy area and picnic tables by the stage. This section is closed for the season, but will be be back open for summer! We've been to other MJ's and the food is great with an American style menu, sushi, cocktails, and a NFL game day menu! They are also host to a RESCUE RIDGE adoption event every year. Here's the deal: Found MJ's from Yelp while visiting the area! MJ's is off AC Blvd and located on a waterfront area of the bay. It's a local watering hole with a large bar area & several tables/ booths. There is a sushi bar off to the side which is odd, but seems to be popular among customers. The outdoor section is a great tented area to watch the gentle ripple waves come ashore. You can also boat to the restaurant and dock at their pier. The good has a variety of options for all tastes. From sushi to pizza to Italian to seafood etc... I had 1/2 dozen wings and huge Mj burger! They were both really good. Overall it's a good no frills local place. Mediocre food with mediocre service. Not horrible, but not great either. Tons of TVs and the view is spectacular right on the water. Food comes out fast once you can get your order in, but then getting refills on your drinks are slow. Bartenders are friendly and great people (the guys have always been the best,) but not very attentive. Food honestly is dry and not worth the price. What an idyllic location! Have a beautiful day at the back of the restaurant or outside with nothing else around except a few scattered homes. I came to MJ's to see my cousins band perform. The drinks have the right mix of ingredients and alcohol not too strong not too weak. I had some salsa and chips with guacamole and it was OK. I also had a burger which was cooked to perfection and the fries were extremely good. My dining partner had a poke bowl which I did not try but said it was delicious. Everyone there is very friendly even when they are busy and under significant pressure. I wish them well as they have a great location a diverse venue and a great staff. read more

MJ's restaurant bar & grill sits in a beautiful location with bay views from almost every window and from their outside deck. They have a massive parking lot to accommodate the weekend crowds. The inside qualifies as a sports bar and they have plenty of tables and seating. My family took me to MJ's to celebrate Father's Day. We had a few reasonably priced drafts and ordered spicy shrimp and pretzels for appetizers. The shrimp were lame but the pretzels were good and served with a delicious honey mustard. My son recommended the burgers from his previous experience here. I wish I had listened to him but instead I ordered the California shrimp wrap which was marginal. My wife had fish and chips. The fish looked like some frozen institutional pre-battered item and tasted worse. My son's corned beef Reuben was also marginal. Needless to say we passed on dessert. MJ's was a disappointment due to low quality food but I may still come back for beer and pretzels on the deck with that million dollar view. read more

This time I got the fish n chips, but had to return as it was swimming in oil....everything on menu is so over-priced, and mediocre at best. We went for burgers and a cocktail. We also ordered the hot and spicy shrimp which was gross. It tasted like clam chowder that they threw shrimp in. It was way over priced too. Our appetizer and burgers all came out at the same time. Our burgers were tasty but overcooked. The waiter didn't seem to care. As a party of six, we don't mind the wait - and you shouldn't either, especially during the summer months as MJ's is right on the bay. Great scenic views of the bay. Food is of good quality, for the most part. Some in the party didn't like the cheesesteak rolls; while others raved about the french onion soup! Just goes to show you that everyone has different tastes. We've been here on more than one occasion, but on one trip, they simply forgot to bring out the meal of ONE of the six at the table. Not sure how that happens, but it happens - - but, then the wait to get that particular meal prepared took a little longer than you'd think. Thankfully, the manager comp'd the two meals of that couple to make things right. The servers are doing their best - but, every once in a while, it takes a little longer than usual to get your order in and out. It's the new norm, I suppose, so be patient. The food was mediocre at best (exception was the chicken BLT, which was fantastic) for the price, and took a long time to come out. Service was fine. Great atmosphere! Just moved into town and found this amazing place. Kid friendly, great food, drinks, and phenomenal views. Service was a bit slow, but it could be because it was pretty busy. Loved the live band! This place will be our new go to restaurant. It has something going on every night (trivia, karaoke, taco Tuesday, etc). It was nice to enjoy a cold beverage with my wife watching my kids play on the sandy beach. Definitely recommend and we will return for sure! read more
