Everyone is really nice, but the coffee was so gross (worse than a chemical starbucks brew) I dumped it ina planter as soon as I left. Good breakfast sandwich though. I love the place. I go there one to three times per week. I'm a COVID-19 guidance non-complier and evidently so are most of the customers, though the staff does (or did) wear masks. I've ordered food in the coffee shop but have not dined in the recently opened café section. I have a couple issues. 1) They need some acoustical dampening panels. Burger Lounge on Winchester is a good example of how they can be used in a place with similar ambience. 2) Probably because of the lack of acoustical dampening, the music is too loud for my taste. I have to use the patio if I want to have a conversation. 3) They don't have a real android app, but the chrome web app is OK. Unfortunately, if I order coffee for "Now", the app says it will be ready in 15-20 minutes so the barista does not start working on it immediately. Also I can't specify "For Dine-In." I put a note on my order stating "I'm here now. Please prepare immediately. For Dine-In." but the Barista doesn't read the note until she starts the order, 19 minutes after I submit it. Ordering by phone helps me avoid the ordering line. I wished it worked just a little better. read more

I'm really bummed to leave a bad review, but I was very excited about Rival and how close it was Mesa but I was very disappointed. Here's some of the main reasons for the low review: - matcha drink came out to $7. This is the same price as the new place in old town Temecula which is much nicer and higher quality 2. I asked for gluten free options, barista didn't know and guessed (should have been a red flag, made me feel unsafe and unsure about eating there but this is where my mom chose to try for lunch so I had to go with something) 3. Got the BLT... I'm not a picky eater at all but it was so weirdly spiced that I had no interest to finish 4. When my BLT arrived on gluten free bread the bread was falling apart and not even a cohesive sandwich 5. Had my baby with us and there were no changing tables at all anywhere in the restaurant. With all the young mommas in the area I have never been to a place to eat that doesn't offer some sort of accommodation to change a baby. I had to do is on the bathroom floor... coffee shops are usually where I meet other mommas for lunch but this would never be a place I would ask to meet where there is no options for our babies 6. It was very messy throughout the store... wash rags every where, a weird office area near where you order that was messy, back of house had tons of visible employees personal items All in all for a BLT and matcha it was $20... my mom and I could have gone to a lot of nice places for lunch for $20 and I felt between lack of knowledge for basic questions about gluten free options, presentation/taste of food and atmosphere I was super disappointed. Only reason for 2 star was they had a long menu with lots of drink options and some of the decor was interesting. So sad to say I won't be back and forth as very bummed from the high hopes/excitement I had to try. Wish I took pictures to show the state of the sandwich and restaurant.... Ps: called in twice and left a message for management to express concerns wanting to give them a chance to make it right before posting but never heard back. read more

So I just had a horrible experience here. I love their coffee and love their food. It's expensive, so I don't come here often. I just had surgery and decided to treat myself at drive through. I ordered blended ice coffee and asked for decaf. (Decaffeinated) and an egg scramble bowl. (The bowls used to be a much bigger serving size. 3x the amount) I received my coffee and noticed it says "No coffee just milk" so I ask the barista "do you guys not have decaf anymore...?" And she tells me "yes we do." And I said, "I ordered decaf but the label says no coffee just milk" she responded, "yes decaf is in there.. that is decaf." And I said "Then why does it say no coffee?" , to which she says "there is no coffee in there, that's decaf. We don't make blended drinks with decaf only cold brew concentrate." I told her "ok I didn't know that, that really should have been said when I ordered. Can I just get a decaf coffee please?" And she says "Sure!" As she shuts the window and opens it with the card reader charging me $7.50. Then I was left holding the card reader for a good ten minutes. I'm really upset with my experience. I can't have caffeine at this time, but I still drink decaffeinated coffee sometimes. I've never had a problem before this except when I got an egg scramble that had an embarrassing amount of red onions in it! Considering the price, I won't be going back unfortunately.I parked to call manager and shocking, the voicemail is full. Rad! read more

Ordered the Rival breakfast sandwich and the Anaheim breakfast sandwich as well as an almond chai tea latte! i'm impressed that this place is much better than Starbucks! they also have a drive-thru! but i stopped in to grab the food and drink and the place is amazing and spacious and of course super clean! will be telling everyone I know about this place because i want to keep this place here forever!! read more

This is my 2nd visit to Rival Coffee and the first time I thought the hot coffee was not great and donuts were ok, was in area and stopped for a Nitro cold brew, it is literally garbage! light almost a tea flavor $6 for a 16oz what a joke and then to have it be disgusting! Trashed it! undrinkable! I also waited 15+ minutes for them to pour from tap, the staff is obnoxious on both my visits, I don't get the all around attitude in this place! yuck go anywhere else literally! read more

I loved waking in to this really cool place. Decor, vibe, music is awesome. The only thing not making the five star cut is the spine jolting hollering of your name being yelled out. It causes me to jump - every - single - time. And as I just wrote that, a nice calm voice came over the microphone. Since that is an option to notify a guest their coffee is ready for pick up, I HIGHLY recommend it being the best method from a business perspective. Love everything otherwise. read more

We have been in several times but not in a couple of months, not sure what is going on here now. They started out with such a bang, great food and great service and now it has really changed. Workers with attitude, very limited food menu (the good stuff is all gone) and the food they have is not as freshly made as it once was. All food is only served in to-go boxes now? While I like to support local businesses, I'm not sure I'll return. It's tucked away from other businesses and has a convenient drive thru. I didn't go inside, but it looks pretty big and there's an outdoor patio as well. The large iced crème brulee did taste good, but it's $1 more for ice, which made the drink $6.45. Not worth that price. The large island berry iced tea was also 50 cents more for ice, which made it $4. I don't like to pay that much for a tea that had absolutely no flavor. Literally, like water with a light pink tint. It is an herbal tea, but I can get way more flavor out of my own herbal tea bags at home. Don't waste your money. Some of their food items sound good, so if I'm in town, I may give the food a try. read more

This has been LONG overdue since I have come almost everyday for the past few months. I used to work as a barista so I can be picky when it comes to coffee and espresso drinks. I get their iced americano and it's AMAZING! Such a strong flavor that wakes me up every morning! They are very friendly and will know you by name after ordering consistently. Only once did I have to bring my drink back cause it was watery, but they were very kind when remaking it and even gave me a free drink gift card for next time! They have such a wide variety of food as well, which not a lot of coffee places around here have. Their Anaheim breakfast sandwich is to die for! Overall the best coffee shop I've been to! read more
