Cute little hole in the wall with delicious Mexican food. They have great specials, including 99 cent chix hard shell tacos on Wednesday. There's a salsa bar with lot of veggies (Pickled red onion etc.) to add to your food. They also have delish fresh made tortilla chips. More of a take out place but there are some tables. read more

But the food not the same as before, last night I stopped by around 11:30pm and I ordered a burrito al pastor, the meat was old and very very greasy and taste like burnt chicharrón, the pineapple water was good no complaints there but avoid the pastor or adobada meat not good. Ok I genuinely made this account and downloaded to just shit on this place. So I ordered from here and they called saying they didn't have what I wanted and asked if I wanted to cancel it. Which I told them yes they can cancel it. It was a double dash so my driver was going to the location from another place. He arrives and they tell him they told me to cancel which isn't even my job to do. Regardless I couldn't cancel without not getting a refund because it was already "being made". These bastards had the AUDACITY TO MARK THE ORDER AS PICKED UP!!!! and NEVER CANCELLED THE ORDER. So when it was delivered the driver left a picture with the food from ANOTHER RESTAURANT and my refund appeal got denied. I called the restaurant and they SAID THEY COULDNT CANCEL IT. I worked at a boba shop and handled DoorDash orders MULTIPLE TIMES THEY CAN CANCEL WHENEVER THEY WANT. This isn't my 1st issue with them. Another time a driver stole my food and 3 other drivers kept going to the restaurant and cancelling because the fucking restaurant refused to make the order again. Luis is the man! Very professional guy. Friendly too. Dedicated and diligent. He's there almost every time I come in. Sometimes he cooks when needed. Lately he's been cashiering. I pretty much only order the shrimp nachos now. They're my favorite. Last week I didn't even have to tell him what I wanted! Hahaha. I initially started eating at Rivas for asada or pork (marinated pork also) burritos and tacos. They are amazing but have switched to shrimp or fish. Their salsa is the best I would say from the fast food Mexican chains. It's spicy but also delicious. Warning for those who don't tolerate spicy food very well but their salsa spiciness is a level 3 out 10 for me though. This location is a little small compared to Maryland or Henderson but clean and organized. The two other locations are clean and organized as well though. They have YouTube playing for their diners. Been going to Desert Inn for over a year now and I don't think I could go to any other location than here since I've been coming here consistently and am coming to know the staff. Luis is my second friend there. Roberto was my first friend. I'm not sure he works there anymore though. Rubi has taken care of me as well. She is awesome. Pretty too. There's a nice woman with glasses as well. Also pretty. All in all, Rivas is a great chain. The food is high quality and delicious. The staff are really great people. However, I believe the owner should know just how his restaurant was ran this morning...the cashier and a cook was arguing even as far as to the cook telling him to shut the f**k up. So, these owners don't care about customer service. They know we'll keep coming back because they're late night and they're better than Roberto's. THAT being said, the kitchen almost never makes things right. The most difficult thing for them to do is no tomatoes. But that's not their fault. It's not even the cashier's fault (mostly). It's that the cashier understandably doesn't want to charge 75¢ per taco to do no tomatoes AND if they do manage to omit the tomatoes, then you get a totally plain taco/burrito It's so annoying. (See my attached receipt). I emailed them in Spanish and English and nobody responds. Owners, if you give a she, all you need to do is allow them to make a regular a$$ taco, with cilantro/cebolla, instead of pico, without the crazy upcharge!!!! I literally just bought you 4 bunches of cilantro, opportunistic toxic-capitalist parasites. Their breakfast burritos are good too, just don't omit any ingredients or you'll be charged extra or the burrito will have only meat! Ugh. Greedy a$$z.
