I came in and ordered their equivalent to the pollo bowl for 10 bucks and some empanadas for 5 bucks. Was told there was no rice. Im like fuck it, add extra corn or beans. When they gave me my order I was so fucking pissed. Look at that! What in the fuck is that? That amount of food wouldn't even fill a damn pollo bowl at Pollo Loco. I ate that shit like I was at a fancy restaurant cuz I needed to be full. The chicken was just tasted differently than the one in the combo menu. It was chicken breast tiny slices. The amount of each ingredient in that photo was the size of a two year olds hand. Like what are you using to measure the qualities? A 1/4 of a cup, or less? Look at the size of the bowl compared to the ingredients. I know you're not supposed to fill it up but it's not even HALF WAY! You can see what i mean from that photo i uploaded. The food would of been better tasing with rice, I sure as fuck didn't enjoy it. The empanadas were just gross. The outside of them tasted like old oil that has not been changed and the bather tasted like a mix of oil and what cheetos puffs are made of but in tortilla taste. It's never busy at this location. It's pretty clean inside. I see a lot of people pick up large orders. I ordered a family meal to go and the service was quick for my large order. The chicken didn't stay as crispy as how I would like but the flavor is good. The empanadas also, kinda soft. I ended up throwing them both in the air fryer when I got home. I still enjoyed the food. I really enjoy going to this Pollo Campero. The manager Ana is super sweet and kind. I remember I was going in to buy lunch/dinner for my family and I got a flat tire. The pollo campero team was very helpful Ana and the store manager and another manager who I believe was the Branch manager helped me change my tire at the parking lot! Ever since then I have continued going to this location. I feel like I have built personal relationships with the staff. Adriana is awesome and always welcomes me with a smile at the front and is super kind when taking my order. If I do not carry out then I dine in. The Dine in experience is un matched! My go-to sides here are the yucca fries and the elote salad, both of which are upgraded specialty sides but worth the extra charge. The boyfriend and I got the 8 piece chicken family meal and it came with two sides. Decided on half grilled and half fried chicken. With a side of french fries and rice. Grilled chicken had a wonderful char and lots of seasoning to it. The fried chicken on the other hand did not and was not as crispy as we would of liked it to be. Pollo Campero has delicious grilled chicken! On my first visit, my husband and I ordered grilled chicken, plantains, sweet corn salad and empanadas. The chicken pieces were decent sized and full of flavor. I don't know what type of spices they use but the taste is fresh and citrus-y. On our second visit we ordered an 8 piece combo that included mostly grilled with a couple of fried. We also had plantains and beans. The fried chicken was juicy but no where near as flavorful as the grilled. The first two visits were dine in visits and every visit after has been to-go. From our visits we have determined we will only order grilled chicken and to only order it to-go. There have also been a few issues with trying to place our order as there is sometimes a language barrier; however, someone usually appears quickly to recover the situation. This is the worst chicken place I have been to. Staff is always rude and condescending. Pollo campero gave "free chicken for a year" to some customers on their reopening day and I got one of those awards. It was actually a scam since it's only 1 meal every two weeks and every time I try to redeem my meal, the staff is rude and nasty. It looks as it would come out of their paycheck EVERY SINGLE TIME! Today was Gleidis who was absolutely rude to me. Sometimes is Ana, the "manager". I don't recommend this place. Food is not even good. I have never been to this restaurant before. I assumed it was going to be like in El Pollo Loco. When I walked in it was like a fast food style place, however people come to your table and bring you your food. The food is also served on regular plates. They have family style portions. It is in between a fast food restaurant and a regular restaurant. The person at the register taking my order was really helpful and explained everything on the menu. They also explained the family style portions because there were six of us wanting to eat. They have two options for chicken. Grilled or fried. I personally had the grilled chicken, and it was the most flavorful chicken I have eaten in a very long time. I would definitely come back again. I am not a fan of lime, and I definitely knew that it was used to season the chicken however, it still was delicious. We ordered our food and got it within five minutes. There was not a long wait time because a lot of the food was already made. Below I have a few pictures of what the food actually looks like. They do offer plantain's, which is different from any other fast food restaurant that I have ever been to. I highly recommend this place.
