As a former Beaver, there were very few things I enjoyed more after a night of debauchery then stumbling into Rivas (Still LaConga to the OG's) at around 3am and blubbering to the waitress, "two Loco Burritos with green sauce." I do not want to give them the required star rating. After suffering through my shrimp tacos, I phoned the restaurant. Sautéed shrimp should not have to be chewed fifty times per bite. Tasteless rice littered the taco. The sautéed peppers had the flavor of burnt plastic. Rosarita does refried beans better than Riva's. The girl on the phone was dismissive, and rude. She told me that they would like me to drive my tacos back. After a day that warranted take out, I did not feel up to it. I explained that I would like to give the food another chance, but driving back was an impossibility. Her tone changed from clipped,to rude. Do not waste your time. When arriving in Corvallis, Rivas is right there in your face looking as delicious as ever. After eating here many times on multiple different occasions I have come to the conclusion that the food is mediocre and the service is very poor. Being a Rockwood native, I have grown a keen taste to fine authentic Mexican food. After eating at Rivas, I can appreciate my home food establishments much much more. The service is ridiculous. The lady taking our order was very rude. I ordered the Oregon Burrito, the food was out within 1 minute of being at the window. This is extremely suspicious to how they can prepare a whole order so quickly. My Oregon burrito cost $6 and looked like it was thrown together within 6 seconds. It was potatoes meat and salsa wrapped in a hard stale tortilla from the previous year. My recommendation would be to avoid Rivas at all costs. Be patient and continue driving to find a Mexican food spot well worth your efforts. read more

Huge breakfast burrito! Fast service and fair price. I got the chorizo and my fella got beef.

We were very disappointed. The taco shells on the beef tacos tasted burnt. The beef was super dry and flavorless. The chicken taco was also dry and overall the chicken tasted off. My husband ordered a beef, bean and cheese burrito which has no cheese and lots of fajita veggies. Their hot sauce was pretty good. We won't return. read more

Bad food. Customer service was fine. I got a friendly smile back I'm seeing a lot of negativity toward the employees - they're just shy around non-Spanish speakers, and probably tired of getting crap from us white folks... My tilapia fish tacos were more bread than fish.. I'd never seen anything more pathetic. My mom ordered a quesadilla with sour cream and guac', I tried some and was not impressed; something was definitely past its exp. date. Nice people, bad food, quick service. Two stars! read more

I was fed plastic in my food and then I was treated meanly. You've gotta read this review. I just got diagnosed with a bi-lateral pneumonia and an infection in my sinuses. I am very sick, I thought it would be nice to have some comfort food, after hearing about the diagnosis an hour before going to Rivas. I have been doing business here for years. There was a different girl working up front, she had reddish brown hair, and had a bad attitude and a snotty look. When I received my food, I took my steroids and anti-antibiotics and opened my food and placed it in the passenger chair. I ate while I drove home. I kept finding little pieces of hard stuff in my food, by the time I got home, I had spit out several pieces of the plastic/Styrofoam. I turned on my car lights when I pulled into my driveway, and I noticed that I had grease all over my leather seats in my nice car, hot grease. I cleaned it up, tomorrow we'll see if there is permanent damage. I don't necessarily blame them for it getting in my car, I could have taken steps to prevent this, but I honest didn't know it would melt right through. I called the restaurant,, and recognized the voice. It was the girl with the bad attitude. I told her what had happened, and I was very, very polite and nice about it. She hung up on me. I am speechless as I write this. I can only tolerate being stepped on so much. It is unethical to sell someone something like this, it is also not nice to hang up on them. When I return my phone calls, she doesn't take them. She hangs up on me before I can talk to her, or it goes to a buzzing sound, which I believe is a fax machine or something. The food varies from day to day and cook to cook. Sometimes it's horrible, other times it's out of this world. It's always a gamble and I've always raved about how awesome this place is, despite their short comings. My Burrito shell was also hard tonight, which is something I haven't seen before. It has been left out, and is crunchy. There is also hair in my food. I have posted pictures of all of this and I will be notifying the authorities. If she simply would have spoken to me, we could have hashed this out. I was merely upset that I may have ate something toxic. I was also upset that they're giving this out to other people. I guess my politeness runs out tonight though. I encourage everyone to ask about this when they go in. Make sure your food is packaged appropriately and to FDA standards. This is not acceptable and I feel it might be illegal. We'll find out. read more

I strongly suggest to never go here unless you want to get double charged. I never write reviews but since this has happened multiple times I felt like I should do something. They have good food that is reasonably priced and I use to go to this place all the time. There are many reason why I stopped going. 1. They double charge debit/credit cards multiple times 2. No customer service whatsoever 3. They didn't put guacamole in my burrito so I drove back because it tasted really dry. They then unwrapped it with no gloves when they have been handling cash, gave it back and said there was guacamole. What they didn't know was that I opened it up prior to driving back. So pretty much they just snuck the guacamole in my burrito so they didn't have to make me a new one. I threw it away after because it was DISGUSTING how they handled that 4. Unsanitary place and service I would probably have given Rivas more stars years ago because of the price and quantity but with recent events I think no one should even come here. This is my first time using yelp and I feel so strongly about sharing this with people because this is not how you run a business. read more

First time in Corvallis and stumble upon this amazing taco shop. The food was amazing!! to top things off the restaurant is open 24hrs a day!!! hahaha we ended up going back for seconds late in the evening LOL. They change their name every few years, but it's always the same old shit. I had a chicken chimichanga here full of bone. It might have been cheap, but dental work isn't. I love this place for late night or Sunday Mexican food (all the other places are closed on Sundays). I've never had anyone be rude to me- in fact the woman and the man that normally staff the drive through are very polite and business like! Great food for what it is- yummy greasy take out! Rivas renovated last year, and though the seating area is still on the small side, it looks really nice now. The food is still excellent, with huge burritos and generous toppings on all their plates. Their chicken enchiladas are very tasty, and they make their own hard taco shells and rolled tacos in house. It's by far my favorite Mexican food in Corvallis. read more
