What can I say... I love this bar! I first came here about a year and a half ago and was rather unimpressed. But, on my second visit in the late spring of 2015, a pleasant surprise awaited. I rode in, figuring that I could at least grab a beer before riding home. TAs I was drinking and meeting some of the patrons from all over the US and Canada, a laid back fellow in jeans and a T shirt approached me. And that's how I met Jeff, the new owner of this bar. He has taken this place and turned it into a destination. Popular with the biker and off road communities who frequent the area, there is something here for everyone. The food is amazing! Being from Washington, Jeff brought his own recipe for clam chowder. I'm not a chowder person, but this stuff is amazing! My daughter begs me to come here for the fries. The beer is always ice cold too. But, the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. I'm always greeted with a smile, and most recently, after losing a very close friend in a tragic accident, was greeted with the biggest hug and thoughtful condolences from Jeff himself. This place is and will be my goto place. Perfect for a short ride from home, or a destination after a days activities, the River Bottom is the place to be. Four for lunch. Three of us had the Friday special, fish & chips. The fish was light and firm with good flavor. Rural, rustic, western feel.

First time visit with friends, wanted to hear the singing cowboy we had heard so much about. waitress came right away, took our drink order, no wait time and she was very friendly. placed our orders soon afterward then the wait began. I am sure it was close to an hour, for sandwich plates. Now after saying that, our food was very good, tasty and not greasy. between the four of us we had fish and chips, shrimp and chips, sandwiches also with french fries, no complaints all around. it was at this point we asked about the singer, apparently he cancelled last minute, darn on the negative, there is an eating area outside or mostly drinking and smoking. The tables are close to the doorway causing the smoke from outside to waif inside, a turn off when you are eating. i would recommend going, quite nostalgic read more

I've been in Florence for 10 days visiting my elderly father and helping him recover from surgery. The bartender is exceptionally sweet and remembered us on our second visit. The food is ok, pretty typical bar food but I will go back the next time I'm in Florence based on the service alone. Oh and they have a pretty nice selection of local beers and micros from the west coast. It's not fancy but warm and welcoming. read more

I wish I could review the food, but after arriving sometime before 1:30 and waiting till 2, we promptly left because we still had not been served. Never got our food, and we were pissed, so we left. Also after we received our menus, we waited a while, watching the girl at the bar chit chat. She clearly forgot about us, so I had to get up and remind her we need to order. Some like 25 minutes we left, without any food. So I can't say anything good about the place, because they were understaffed, and therefore the service was terrible. Fun place to stop for a cold one when out riding your bike. Beer was good, great dive bar atmosphere, what more could you ask for?

Customer service was horrible. We sat ourselves down and it took over a half hour for anybody to wait on us for drinks. The waiter explained thathe was the only one there and the cook wasn't in yet. We ordered burgers and fish tacos. We were now there for an hour and 15 minutes by the time we got served. The fish tacos were drowning in what seemed like Thousand Island dressing. The fish wasn't great and had a weird taste to them. The calamari fries were served to us not fully warm. We were asked how the food was and we told them about the tacos and their tone changed afterwards. The new waitress that took over ended up having an attitude problem. Needless to say, we won't be going back there. read more

Hubby and I love this place. Fun atmosphere and it's always a full house at the River Bottom. During snowbird season, they have live entertainment on the back patio area. All the winter visitors have a great time line dancing and it's just an amazingly friendly and inclusive atmosphere. When we originally went after the change in ownership, I didn't hold out much hope for the food; but I was pleasantly surprised. Their fries are delicious and there was more variety on the menu than before. You don't need to be a biker to hang at the River Bottom. Just come with an appetite for food and fun and you'll leave happy. Staff is all very helpful and attentive. I'd give it 5 stars if they expanded the restroom facilities. Sometimes you have to stand and wait while doing the "pee pee dance" when they are busy. read more

This is by far the worst meal I have had at a restaurant in years. How on earth can you screw up a pulled pork sandwich-twice! First it was burnt on the edges but cold inside, then when I sent it back they obviously nuked it so long that it was literally not chewable. The fries were soggy and greasy. Add the lousy service to that and count it as the perfect home of a very lousy meal. On the bright side, at least the beer was cold. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. read more

Our group of six had a terrible time this past Saturday at this restaurant. (Feb 16, 2019) We chose to sit outside and although chilly, it was a comfortable setting for a "biker style" bar and grille. Out waitress was nice and pleasant and took our drink order promptly. Then,,,,, all went wrong. We ordered the common stuff off the menu, burgers, chili, sandwiches, fries,,, you know,,, normal stuff. We waited,,,,, and waited,,,, finally we checked on our order and was told the kitchen was "backed up" and there would be additional wait time. We should have left but we endured and after about an hour of waiting and listening to a horrible, noisy, off-key singing rock band, our food arrived. Common, paper basket style food which was only fair to the taste and tourist-traditional style overpriced. I recommend you find another venue to wet your whistle and feed your soul. McDonalds would have been a far better choice. Don't waste your time or money here. Thanks for your attention. read more

NEW OWNERSHIP FOR THE RIVERBOTTOM in Florence, AZ off the 79. No photos at this time. Wow, I have to say the place is really coming along nicely. The new owner is taking care and making changes of the old run down place. Even the menu has changed for the better. Love the popcorn shrimp and the cod was so much better then what the last owners had. You have great portions for the price. A band plays till sundown and great views in the distance and at night the glow of the prison light gives it a nice night lit view. The owner seems nice enough. And he is really trying to turn this place around. There are some people that you will never make happy but this guy is really giving it a try. Great job to the new owner. I give him a 5 star for all the hard work he's put into it in such a short time. I'll be back. Oh and did I mention the entertainment? Now if only there were music to dance to. ;) read more

I stopped by today around 12:20 for lunch, I have never been there before and was expecting it to be busy, to me it didn't seem like it was. I went to the men's room real quick before sitting down and when I did sit down I sat at the end of the bar closest to the door. I then looked at the menu, which seems wide which is nice, but waited and waited and waited and was never even greeted!!!! I would assume it was the manager/owner who finally said something to me but that was only how are you doing? Not, have you been helped or excuse the wait we are having issues with our POS system, nothing! I proceeded to wait around a half hour to see if someone would even ask if I wanted something to drink to start and NOTHING!!!! That is horrible. If I was running this place and knew the POS system was down, other people would be called in to help with the slack until it recovered and not rely on 3 people to take care of the bar/outside/and inside! Doubt I will be back and will be posting the same info on google reviews and yelp. read more

Absolutely PHENOMINAL Burgers!!! This place is the place to be if you are looking for good food in a pub style atmosphere. The owners have done a great job in converting the once tough bar image into a grill that is worthy of the being compared to the best around. With a huge back patio and ample parking this is a great stop for a days ride out of Tucson or Phoenix. Check em out the next time you are in Florence.
