Everything from the dining area to the bathrooms and even the kitchen was noticeably clean, which I always appreciate. The menu has a wide variety of options at really reasonable prices, and I love that they offer weekly specials. Food-wise, everything we ordered was excellent. My son had the Cobb salad with added chicken, and the portion size was perfect for an athletic teen--very filling. I went with the steak and eggs with a side tortilla, and it did not disappoint. Make sure to order their salsa on the side--it's so good they honestly should bottle and sell it. We also tried a burger (which my son really enjoyed), plus a pecan waffle and a buttermilk pancake for the table. Both were outstanding, but that pecan waffle is something I'll definitely be ordering again. Overall, this is the kind of place you find yourself coming back to again and again. What a great score! Just when you are checking your vehicle GPS to see if you have the right address, appears a small strip mall with San Tan Cafe (under new management). It opens at 6:00am. Country ambiance with lots of locals up early. KNIX Country Music in the background. Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with fried potatoes and biscuit. Large portions, could not finish it. Unassuming cafe at the end of a strip mall with country decor and, frankly, terrible lighting but soooo worth the visit! You're not visiting this place for the atmosphere but you are here for the delicious food! The restaurant is clean and our service was great. I picked a unique breakfast I found on the menu...Breakfast Sliders. I was VERY happy with my choice and the rest of the table envied my dish. We finally got a chance to check this place out on a Thursday at 8:30am. They have a good following of locals. It's a cute place with friendly servers. The coffee is average for a Diner. We got the pancake plate and two eggs with hashbrowns, bacon and toast. The eggs were cooked nicely. The toast and the hashbrowns could've been cooked a little more but I guess we just need to ask for well done next time. Pancakes were good. The sausage had a nice flavor. Food is good but service wasn't I felt that this place treated me and my family poorly and was racist because we were the only colored people there. They were attending everyone super quick and making sure everyone had coffee but us until we were literally leaving they asked us if we wanted more??? My meal came with toast and I tried to eat my food very slowly waiting for it to come and never did until I finished it and was waiting for the check the waitress came and told me "i totally forgot about your toast" and threw the plate towards me. I checked the reviews and menu before coming and decided this would be a good place to try. My husband had been here before. I wanted to order juevos rancheros as this is my favorite. But when I read the menu and asked the waitress if it was literally just eggs on a tortilla with sauce. She said yes. And potatoes and a bean cup. Thought that was going to be skimpy so opted for veggie omelette. It was packed with veggies however, didn't have any flavor. My husband said same thing about his meat lovers bowl. Almost like they cook all ingredients separate and then place them together. Kids ordered French toast and Mac n cheese and they enjoyed it. Service was great. Did not wait long for a table. It's been a little while since I visited San Tan Cafe but I took two first-time diners today, my 87 yo mom and my hubby, for late breakfast. Mom had scrambled eggs, a pancake, two slices of bacon and a side of biscuits and gravy. No, she didn't finish! I had the very yummy Country Bowl (ate half) and my hubby had the Reuben w side salad. Sonya took such good care of us - ask for her when you pop in! All in all, a very cozy restaurant with the best comfort food. You can thank me later. I contemplated not giving them 5 stars so they would not become more popular, but I had to be honest. I had the scrambled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, and pancakes. The eggs were perfect, the bacon was crispy and a nice thick cut, the fried potatoes was out of this world ( a little too much oil, but wow) and the pancake was superb. It was nice, light and fluffy, perfect flavor. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy. While the biscuits were a not as tender as we liked, the gravy was outstanding. Unfortunate because this placed used to be so good. Doesn't seem to be that way anymore. Expensive and inedible. The kids menu says 10 and under but the portions are more like for a 5 and under, for $8 it was barely enough food for my 2 year old. My husband took a bite of the sausage and couldn't even finish the bite he took, the eggs are rubbery, the biscuits and gravy are bland and the parts I could taste didn't taste good. This place is a local hang out we stumbled upon years ago when we first moved here. Staff is very friendly and welcoming! We especially love our favorite sassy server Victoria! My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with home sliced potatoes and toast, I ordered the Belgian waffle combo with pork sausage patties. The first thing I said when I walked in was "you know the breakfast food is going to be amazing when they don't serve alcohol" My first impression was a cute little cafe in a cute complex. Outside suburbia in a small community outside the city. It was definitely a family owned business, which I love supporting and all of their tables had stickers and advertisements for other locally owned businesses in the area. They do not have booths but they have an array of tables that makes you few like you're at grandmas house. They have two separate little dining areas. We sat in the one by the front door. They let you sit wherever there is an open table. The decor is also very Hobby Lobby farmhouse and grandma like! We came right after country Thunder and we're not the cleanest but we walked in and we're greeted nicely. Told to sit anywhere and brought menus. I ordered a coffee right off the bat and this may sound like an exaggeration but I'm not kidding, it was the best black coffee I'd ever had. It wasn't watery, it wasn't burnt, it was perfect. They also have all the condiments, creamers and sugars on the tables with an assortment of 4-5 creamer and sugar flavors. Our waitress was the only one working that day but she did awesome!! For breakfast I had the biscuits and gravy with a side of the country fried potatoes. The potatoes were AMAZING. They were crispy and in small squares. The batter was seasoned perfectly, I just added a little salt. The biscuits and gravy came with 2 large biscuits cut in half so there were 4 slices. The gravy was so good and they gave an actual decent amount! Enough to mix with my potatoes. Some breakfast places skimp you on the gravy but not this place!! The bacon looked burned but it wasn't, it was perfectly crispy with a Smokey flavor to it, almost like they smoked it. It also came with two eggs that I ordered over medium and we're cooked perfectly, not too undercooked. My friend had the chicken fried steak omelet because he had never seen anything like that. It was an omelet with chicken fried steak smothered in gravy. I did not try it but he ate the whole thing. He also had a choice of carb side and they actually offer a single pancake as an option that we shared, it was so fluffy and delicious. I will definitely be stopping here again. Husband and I and decided to head on over there for breakfast on 9/23/23 and I must admit the food was pretty good and the inside was very nice and cozy. We were seated right away, no wait. The waitress was nice and took our drink order and we placed our order and this is where things took a little longer than it should have. We were told our order was on hold due to the waffles taking a bit longer to make, we said ok no big deal and then I noticed our order just sitting there. After we finally got our order, delivered by someone else I don't believe we saw our waitress for a long time and we sat, we had a good time though, she finally shows up to had us our bill so that we could leave. I would say, yes the food was delicious and the place cute and most of the staff seemed to hustle however I believe our waitress was new or it may have looked like it.
