Breakfast Sliders with hashbrowns
Christina S.

Unassuming cafe at the end of a strip mall with country decor and, frankly, terrible lighting but soooo worth the visit! You're not visiting this place for the atmosphere but you are here for the delicious food! The restaurant is clean and our service was great. I picked a unique breakfast I found on the menu...Breakfast Sliders. I was VERY happy with my choice and the rest of the table envied my dish. Three sliders with chicken fried steak, onions and Swiss cheese on a biscuit. Served with your choice of potatoes and gravy. I chose the hashbrowns. We had never been to the San Tan Cafe but we will definitely be back again, soon!

We finally got a chance to check this place out on a Thursday at 8:30am. They have a good following of locals. It's a cute place with friendly servers. The coffee is average for a Diner. We got the pancake plate and two eggs with hashbrowns, bacon and toast. The eggs were cooked nicely. The toast and the hashbrowns could've been cooked a little more but I guess we just need to ask for well done next time. Pancakes were good. The sausage had a nice flavor. They keep the coffee coming if you want extra. It's a solid breakfast diner.

Wanted to try a new place by the house. Found this place and will say the food was amazing. I had an omelette and hash browns. So filling. The service was great. Sat us down quickly and immediately asked about drinks. Was always stopping by and checking on us. The place has a great family feel to it, but will say. It was packed and stayed packed the entire time we were there. Great place to eat.

basic diner with a good selection of breakfast items. It was early and dark outside so it was hard to find.

A typical go-to order for us is one orders one pancake and the other orders the 2-eggs, tater tots, sausage with sourdough toast and jam. It's the perfect amount of food to share since we typically walk from our community. We wish that they offered lates as their coffee is good, but a little dark for us. For hot drinks, they only serve regular coffee. They seem to have a nice variety of iced coffee drinks on tap for those who like ice coffee. We'll be back again!

The gravy tasted burnt for some reason. Maybe they used bacon grease that was left on the burner too long? It wasn't burnt but tasted like it. They also didn't give nearly enough gravy. So it was quite dry. Crackers & Co off the 60 & country club is still the hands down winner of biscuits and gravy in the east valley. Fresh squeezed OJ was good. Pricy. But you can taste that they for sure were squeezing their oranges fresh in the back. Pancake dog was pretty good nothing to run home about though. Scrambled eggs were really tasty - not liquid fake egg or powder. We sat outside and even though we were in the shade now I was concerned that the sun may of been hitting the area we were sitting earlier in the day. And this concerned me because they don't mind having the cholula and ketchup baking in the sun. So be aware of you use their condiments they may of been outside baking in the az sun (as shown in my pic). The service was respectful and nice. Don't think I'll be back especially if I want biscuits and gravy... may try something else in take out in the future.

Though, the wait was quite long but I tried to be understanding since not many locations are open on holidays. It's counter service so some delay was that the staff couldn't find us (example: croissant arrived after our meal and 10-15 minutes after the cappuccino ordered with it). The patio looks nice for cooler days, and we enjoyed sitting in the little nook that had paintings and small crafts for sale. Recently purchased by new owners from France, I knew I had to try as I love French cuisine. They have a French Specials Board and a Croissant Menu, which my boyfriend both ordered from. We both said we wished there were more French items to choose from. What We Ordered: ~ Coke: served as a can with a mason jar of ice. ~ Goat Cheese Croque Monsieur: My boyfriend loved it, but wished there was more béchamel sauce. The goat cheese compliments the ham really well, and he throughly enjoyed. ~ French Quiche (Chicken, bell pepper, cheddar): I really enjoyed this quiche as it's not something you can find done well in a lot of places. The combination of ingredients work well together. ~ Cappuccino: This was crafted well and I enjoyed the light dusting of topping (believe cinnamon sugar). The espresso paired nicely with the frothed milk and velvety foam. ~ Croissant & Butter: Sadly, this was like any croissant you can get. A skip for us next time, but probably great for a sandwich. Overall, we enjoyed our meal though I'm not a fan of counter service. We'd return again, and pick a table more in the open so it's easily to deliver food to us.

We had meatball wedding soup, chopped salad with Genoa salami and five tapas. Lovely presentation and scrumptious. Grows and sources local produce and some meats. Wine, beer and thin crust pizza. Indoor and so much outdoor dining spaces creating your own private convivial spot with your group. We did the olive 101 tour, which was real interesting. Tour covered the history growing, harvesting and pressing olives into extra virgin olive oil. This place is the only olive mill in Arizona - go figure! Tour included how to taste and sample olive oil. You can sample all the olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pickled veggies and check out many cool gifts in the store. It's a home run in agru-tourism! It's a home run - grows olives without pesticides, focusing on caring for the soil. Does not use pesticides. Operation is solar powered, conserves water, and composts. Two thumbs up for the farm family and the operation that takes care of the hundreds of guests that show up each day. It was an enjoyable time to tour and eat lunch out.

One lady was at counter when my beeper went off. I came up & she was checking someone out, then gave another person their order before me. I could see my food just sitting there (no heat lamp) Not good. When I tasted my eggs they were cold & bland. The woman who gave me my food talked up the jam but it was really tart & we didn't like it. In addition, I paid $6 for coffee. I went up for a refill & there was only decaf. The bartenders said they were brewing more but kinda blew me off. They were way more concerned with the alcohol buying/tipping customers. After 10+ mins I went back up to just wait. After all the bar customers left, a bartender finally acknowledged me & she took my cup & filled it up behind the bar. Supposedly, they'll have a dedicated coffee area ready at the end of August. But, at this point I feel that you shouldn't go to the Olive Mill for hot food, especially at breakfast. They're soo popular that they've stopped caring about flavor. Sad really. Olives & salads your best bet. Nice live music was outside but it was so hot our group decided to go inside.

They gave me menus and took my order very quickly. It's a cafe had a bar area and the seating area and was pretty packed with people sitting and waiting for their, it's time to be serviced. I thought this food home and it was so delicious and the portions were perfect. The eggs and potatoes were seasoned perfectly. In the churro waffles, by the grace of everything. Holy so delicious. Because of my substitutes, the meal cost about 25 bucks. But it was completely worth it. I am for sure going back. I wanted to add because my order was to go. They put it in a sealed bag. So now I'm even considering ordering delivery because you know no one would get into your food which was a great touch.
