Doesn't look like much on the drive-by or walk-by but pass them by at your loss. The chicken-fingers are probably the best you'll find anywhere in Myrtle Beach. Plenty of locations up and down the Grand Strand to boot. Kids love this place. read more

I ended up with the Three Alarm Fireburger and it actually surprised me how spicy it was (which is a good thing in my book because I feel like a lot of places hold back on me). The fries I thought could have gotten a little more love, I was underwhelmed by the seasoning on them. However, I'm willing to quickly overlook that if you give me a perfectly cooked burger! It has such a vast and unique experience with an extremely laid back staff to where the atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. The first time I came here was a 5 star review. I got the RC burger and made it a double. It was fantastic!!!! Food was amazing and service was friendly and fast! Perfect in my book. The second time I went it got a 2 star review. The burger was a double peanutbutter burger add bacon and pickles. The food got a 3 this time and service was a -5. Our drinks were left empty and the food took an hour!!!! They don't ask how you want it cooked, but cook all burgers at medium-well. Which is fine, still juicy and no pink center. The fries are thick-cut and good. If you order onion rings, you only get 2, but they are the size of an entire onion!!! You are better off setting your GPS to Ocean Annie's to find this place. Great little spot on the beach to grab a quick bite on a day you don't feel like packing lunch for the beach. A variety of options, mostly bar type food/burgers. Very cool options like a nacho burger, Mac and cheese burger, Cheetos burger, etc. Toppings made the burgers tasty, but overall the meat itself could have been seasoned better. Well...ordered the turkey burger...can't get that...something about the turkey was "all frozen." Ok...things happen. Ordered a blooming onion...can't get that..."we're out." Ordered two salads, a Buffalo Bites and a burger. Burger was ok...bites seemed to be ok. Salads were two bosses of lettuce, with cucumbers and tomatoes. The tomatoes were a whole quarter cut. Not impressive salads. And we could not sit outside. Overall, not the usual experience. I had the nachos crunch burger. It was very tasty. I love burgers and sandwiches with chips in them. The burger was a little pink. It was not cooked enough. The grouper fingers has good seasoning but also wasn't cooked enough as well. The fries was not crunchy they was soft. Seem like they been sitting up in heat so they can be eatable. My family and I visit myrtle beach almost every year, and our first stop is always river city. I just didn't get to come last year due to COVID, so we have been 3 times this year. Nice change of pace if you are tired of traditional burger joints. Lots of interesting items on the menu which made it hard to choose. Burger prices do not include a side or drink. It is located inside the Ocean Sands hotel right beside Ocean Annie's. Crowded, noisy and kid-friendly. Everything is disposable (cups, silverware, plates, etc.). There is a pool right outside the window and you wait on the bench outside if they don't have table readily available. Food was hot and the order-to-table time was good, especially for how busy it was on a Sunday afternoon. Our main dish came out before the appetizer, so be sure to wait to order the main or specially ask the staff if you want it to come out in a particular order. As always RCC delivers fresh food at a reasonable price, even right on the beach. I have had several different items at RCC but today I wanted a grilled chicken salad. We were just here July 23rd. It was on the bottom floor of our hotel, Sands Ocean Club. We had been to other River City Cafes before and loved them, so we decided to try this one. When we called down there to order food, the line picked up and then we were hung up on. Tried calling several more times, just to hear a disgruntled voice briefly and then got hung up on again. We thought maybe the person answering the phones was just having a bad day, so we walked down there to place a to go order in person. The girl who took our order was EXTREMELY rude. She thought we wanted to sit in the restaurant so she said "There's a four hour wait." Okay, fine. We told her we wanted to get food to go. My dad joked with her and said "We are really thirsty so we'd like six sweet teas." There were five of us. She sneered at him and said "Really? Six? Sure you don't want 25?" We had come this far so we put in our order anyway. Five cheeseburgers was $71!! We also were told to wait twenty minutes and ended up waiting forty. No apology from the staff. The meat had no seasoning whatsoever and basically tasted like Wendy's. The buns and fries were soggy and falling apart. We were pretty disappointed. And Wendy's is totally fine, but we paid $71 for River City Cafe food. Terrible service and subpar food at this location. Take your business to a different River City. read more

I found River City Cafe on yelp because the boys in my group wanted burgers. The menu is pretty extensive, and the best part for me was that you could swap out beef for turkey or veggie if you wanted to. I got the three alarm fireburger. It was tasty but I wish it was spicier! Two of the guys got a double burger, and those things were massive. We also got onion rings and fries for the table, and the fries were fresh cut and nicely salted. The onion rings were the size of our heads which is fun to look at, but a bit difficult to eat. River City has a very casual atmosphere with peanuts, license plates, and random decorations everywhere. Quick tip: parking is on the street and it's metered, but the host let us know that we could park in a private lot across the street for free. read more
