James (son) and I wanted to try the new Flavortown restaurant by Guy Fieri that opened a few weeks ago. We sat at the bar to avoid a wait for a table. Josh & Eric were the bartenders. They quickly served us and kept up with refills. Both were friendly and helpful with the menu and general info on restaurant. James ordered the Smokehouse Smash Burger which he said was very good. I had the Old School Steak Sandwich. My sandwich was brought out about 10 minutes after James' burger. Eric contacted the the servers to locate it. I am guessing there are still some bugs in the new system. My sandwich was lukewarm and there was a shortage of steak on it. It was mostly onion rings and peppers on a 6" bun. It was tasty but sparse on protein. The overall atmosphere was fun with all the various games surrounding the bar. Price wise it was a bit high for what I received. Even for Myrtle Beach. $6 drafts, $23 for that mini steak sandwich and $22 for the burger which he did like. Besides a famous name, I think that it will have trouble competing with the Dave & Busters, 8-10 bowling and the new Alley Oops which will open soon. They all are similar in theme. The food is awful. Those rumors we all have heard regarding bad food from a Guy Fieri property are true. My friend had a cheesesteak and has been ill all afternoon. I had meatloaf and how it was assembled I'm still wondering about. It's touristy and that means expensive. I can see how the kids would like it. Plenty of bells, lights and whistles plus plenty of room to run around. Service was very good. Eager and enthusiastic about it. $500 Family Night That Fell Flat - Not Worth the Hype After hearing so much buzz about this place, our family was excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7:30 PM and were quoted a one-hour wait for a restaurant table. To pass the time, we spent $86 on bowling for four people. During that time, we struggled to get service and eventually had to ask the host to locate our server. Our server, Leslie, was kind and clearly doing her best, but she appeared understaffed and under-equipped. For example, she didn't even have a drink tray and had to carry beverages one at a time. The issue wasn't the staff--it was a lack of support, training, and resources. Once seated after the hour-long wait, the food was another letdown. I ordered the Korean Chicken Sandwich, which arrived on what looked like a basic hoagie roll with small pieces of chicken that were dry, cold, and lacking flavor. The fries were mediocre at best. The biggest disappointment was the dessert. We ordered the Graham Cracker Cookie Dessert for $15 expecting something memorable and shareable. Instead, it was essentially a single large chocolate chip cookie standing upright on a plate with a small scoop of ice cream, chocolate drizzle, graham cracker crumbs, and mini M&Ms. For the price, it felt underwhelming and overpriced. By the end of the evening, our family had spent close to $500 between dining, bowling, drinks, and dessert. For that kind of money, we expected a much higher level of food quality, service, and overall experience. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach and looking for great food and value, there are many better local restaurants to choose from. Got here for the party of three just before 5 PM. There was a 20 minute wait so we decided to eat at the bar. Our server, Eric, was phenomenal. Very kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The place is super clean. The menu is extensive. How old is the meatloaf. I didn't care for the indoor sausage. It was a little tough. I got an extra side of gravy and that made it even better. My wife got just a regular burger. And she said it was good.. And our friend got the burger that had the pulled pork and bacon on it. And she said it was excellent. it took 45 minutes to get our food. The waitress spilled my husband's tea on the table and the floor and just walked off. She did return and wiped the table and the floor but she left the dirty rag on the table beside my husband!! His chicken wings were not cooked all the way(still pink inside) and he was supposed to get onions on the side and never did. When he complained she offered to get him something. He got a plain hamburger. She didn't ask how he wanted it cooked and it came bloody in the middle. He said there was no flavor. He decided that was enough and we left. Ordered cheeseburger trashcan nachos but came with what I assume were Hot Honey chicken strip pieces instead (not complaining it sounds like it'd work), but it was bland chicken, and overall just plain for being $22. Mac Daddy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was very big but not flavorful at all. No heat or flavor from buffalo sauce. Taco Bell mild sauce is hotter than the chicken was. The pimento cheese burger same way. And on top of that, food all came out lukewarm. We were seated near the kitchen, which is big glass windows, and there was just a queue of nothing being grabbed. Basically everything looks flavorful but then you dig in to bland food that is not the warmest. Like another review said, Dave and Busters is a better experience. The design reflects that: arcade games, gift shop, entertainment packed tight, and a menu built for novelty. If you're a visitor passing through during the summer rush, you'll probably have a decent time. If you're a local looking for quality dining, skip it. Here's the reality: this franchise operates in markets with much longer tourist seasons than Myrtle Beach. Without building a local customer base once that summer window closes, you're finished. The problem is, locals aren't going to come back here once the tourists leave. The food really isn't good. The Philly cheese egg rolls were just okay - nothing special. The chicken Baja Bowl had decent flavor, but the Tostitos were stale. There's no excuse for that. You're serving it to paying customers. The barbecue chicken sandwich was the only solid item. The basket of fries was tiny. Most menu items feel like they're checking a box rather than delivering real quality. Service was fine for us, but noticeably slow for other tables. They're clearly still finding their footing as a brand new operation. The bowling is off the charts tiny - far shorter and narrower than regulation. It's a gimmick, not real bowling. But the detail that stuck with me: the dirty glasses stacked at the bar in the main dining area. Yuck. That's the kind of thing that tells you everything about the operation's standards. And the "No Concealed Weapons Allowed" sign at the entrance eliminates trained, law-abiding South Carolina permit holders while doing nothing to stop actual criminals. I went to this restaurant on Saturday and I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to get in, they told me because it was the first Saturday since they opened. I have to say that I will give it a 5 for beauty and ambience, it's a lot of fun. The service was also great and they have a big screen on their tiki bar. Btw, you do not have to wait to seat there if seats are available, and you can walk in without waiting to be called. Looks like they will have outdoor seats very soon. As for the food, my buffalo wings were good and also my drink. It's not a high quality restaurant as you would expect but it's definitely a great place to have fun, it's humongous. If I could give a one word review it would be: FLAVORLESS The food was, at best, cold and when I say flavorless I am not joking. The cheeseburger was described as "on a garlic butter brioche bun with donkey sauce, cheddar, and super cheesy melt." There was no detectable sauce. The burger was mush (not as big or as typical even as a Quarterpounder) and the bun was a boring Aldi bun. The ultra thin tomato slices and barely-there lettuce were fine. The fry trio was cold and average- desperately lacking seasoning. But they were crispy. We film travel vlogs in Myrtle Beach and I didn't bother taking a single picture. FLAVORLESS. The service was the norm for Myrtle- college kids on break. I'd say we'd Go back for a vlog in off-season but we won't go back. I wish I could have my money returned and the wasted dietary fast food. Now the only reason it gets a 1 out of 5 is because the arcade and duck pin bowling areas and tiki bar are fun. It would've gotten 2 if our burger included any of the toppings they charged us for. As soon as you walk in the whole place feels like a vibe and felt like Vegas, family played quite a few arcade games, the card was filled at least twice and when they were done they were able to sit in a cabana and have some drinks while waiting for a table, which was convenient. We finally get to our table, which they put us at a high rise with 4 kids, we asked to be seated at a shorter table and they moved us over buy the kitchen so it was cool to see the food being made, ordered beer and the berry martini which was very good. When we walked in we were amazed at the games and thought this place would be great. If only the food was as good as the atmosphere. The bowling alley and Tiki Bar added to the ambiance. The seats were soft and nice to sit on. We were wowed until the food came. The waitress recommended the famous Chicken Alfredo that Guy won an award with. It was so greasy and pricey $26. It didn't even seem like Alfredo. It looked like they had melted a stick of butter on each plate. The grease pooled on the plate. I can't believe it left the kitchen. We were so disappointed and it was our first time there. I suggest eating at the Japanese restaurant in the food court around the corner and then playing the games or bowling. That tiny restaurant looked better than Guy's restaurant and the locals were coming and going from it. I wish I had read reviews before coming. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately there are still quite a few kinks that need to be worked out. My family and I ended up sitting at the bar, and I ordered a classic margarita. I'm usually the type of person who just drinks it even if it's not great, but this one was so sour that I had to ask for something else. I switched to a raspberry lemon drop martini, which was much better. The bartender did his best to make sure I was satisfied, but overall it seemed like there may be a lack of training or consistency behind the bar. My dad ordered the classic buffalo wings with fries. When the wings arrived, they didn't look or taste like buffalo wings at all (the sauce was very sweet and had no spice). After requesting a side of buffalo sauce, we confirmed that the wrong wings had been served. The staff brought out a new order, and those were excellent. Unfortunately, his fries never arrived. My mom ordered the chicken tortilla soup. The flavor was good, but it was served cold and was missing the avocado that was listed on the menu. My fiancé and I shared the buffalo chicken tender sandwich topped with mac and cheese and bacon. It was enjoyable, but not quite the over-the-top "Flavortown" experience we were expecting. Overall, there were some bright spots, and the staff seemed eager to make things right when issues were brought to their attention. I was torn between 3 or 4 stars. We had a table of 8 and we were seated fairly quickly (we went around 3 PM on 7/3/26). I believe our server was relatively new as she frequently referred to the menu when we were ordering, very sweet none the less. Food took a little bit longer that I thought it should. We had ribs, salmon, wings and pizza. Food was very tasty except for the pizza. Crust and cheese were OK but the sauce was pretty tasteless.
