My favorite Game store in Sacramento…read more It contains a large catalog of card, board, strategy and miniature games that will appeal to a casual laymen, a beginner, or the serious die hard enthusiast. There are 2 parts to this large store, the showroom area with all the games, miniatures for your perusing and purchasing pleasure. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in recommending a game you may like, or answering inquiries into availability or ordering a game they may not have in stock. The 2d part is large game room that is stocked with games you can test out, or just come in with your friends, or meet new friends and try them out. They publish a monthly schedule of tournaments, contests, or just open game playing. On this occaision, I came to one of the Semi Annual flea market bazaars, where anyone could sign up, for a small fee , get a space to sell their older games , or maybe crafts. There is No fee to be a shopper st the bazaar, so you can find some good deals on games, miniatures, cards, books, terrain, storage or dice. I scored a Zombicide game that was unpunched at a great price for my son & I to play. All in all, just a great store for any game enthusiast of every age from beginners to the hard core gamer.

Adj: pretty amazing arts and crafts supply store…read more This is a big Michael's store on North Freeway in Natomas. It's got a little bit of most everything and a lot of some things whatever you might be looking for in the arts and crafts dept for your hobbies and interests. We came specifically to look at yarn and there was a ton to choose from. After Michael's bought out JoAnn's, there's a lot more to choose from because the JoAnn's store brand yarn is now also available at Michael's plus other supplies that are also JoAnn's brand are included too now. In particular, I find the Loops and Threads private label basic acrylic brand to be really good quality and doesn't fray and not rough like Red Heart which I really don't like. Looking around the store at other items, there was a lot of St Patrick's Day items: decorations, crafts, fun knick knacks, etc. The Easter items were also out in full force with tons of pastel everything you can possibly think of. This store was well organized, big, clean and to me nicer than the one on Laguna in Elk Grove. Of course, this store is newer so that might be a big part of it too. As for customer service, I picked up a couple skeins of yarn that I ordered online to make sure the color wouldn't run out before I got to the store in person and the staff person was friendly to point me to where to pick up since I'm not as familiar with this store as the Elk Grove one. Good value on my purchase as I had a discount on my rewards account, but I also found a lot of clearanced and discounted yarn. In fact, there was a ton of items on sale throughout the store! Overall, I like this store and plan to come back and spend more time browsing and shopping the next time I get a chance to have a leisure retail therapy day. ;)

If you were to tour my home during the holiday season, 75% of the Christmas decorations that you will encounter (both inside and outside my home) has been purchased from Michaels. In comparison to the Elk Grove location that is in close proximity to my home, this location is HUGE! Being African American, I love the fact that this location stocks African American figurines (i.e., Christmas tree toppers, angels, santas). The online inventory checker is pretty accurate, so I use it often for the store pickup option. If you have the patience to wait until early December to purchase your Christmas decorations, you will benefit from the 50-70% clearance items (I never pay full price)! I cannot honestly say that the customer service at this location is great. I rarely see employees on the floor; therefore, do not be surprised if you see a customer risking their life (I'm so dramatic) standing on a shelf to grab an item that is out of reach (shamefully I admit that I have been victim to doing so). However, I can say that the cashiers are generally always friendly a do a good job of suggesting other items in the store that might compliment your purchase(s). If you're looking for an assortment of Christmas decorations, I highly recommend visiting this location!

My comic-book-collecting husband rarely leaves Big Brother empty handed. For Dungeons & Dragons fans, there is a wall full of character minis to choose from. I was so excited to find my characters and my friends' characters after not finding them at other comic book stores. They also have board games and accessories. I particularly love looking at the display cases. Lots of the figurines spark childhood memories which make the shopping experience extra fun. You can tell that each item is handled with care and priced appropriately for collectors. Don't forget to look up to admire the wall decorations! The owners and employees put a lot of thought into this shop to make it fun for patrons of all ages.

I am not a comic book person, but I do like visiting and walking around like I know what I'm looking at. My husband is a nerd for comics so we popped in to see what new stuff they had. I liked seeing all of the cool interesting games, books and figurines. They offer so much at this store and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! My husband bought the Ultimate Spiderman comic and my daughter picked out a Teen Titans Go book - I think it came out to a little over $30 for both so not too bad. Pricing was fairly decent - you get what you pay for and depending on the rarity! They even have a large room with tons of tables and chairs next door for gaming with friends. Overall, Big Brother Comics is a pretty cool store! I'm sure we'll be back soon!

The one staff person may be…read moreusing the restroom down the hall, but if you knock and wait a little bit, they'll come let you in. Yo Pop Fun Shop is on the backside of the tan color building maps will route you to. There's parking back there too. It feels kind of like finding a brewery, and that might prevent break ins I suppose. I couldn't even tell there were windows until we were inside. This is where my cousin wanted to go to do one of our favorite hobbies together (window shopping and impulse buying, ok I guess in his case Seriously Collecting Funko Pop figures) on his birthday shopping trip this year. I had never heard of it, so I figured, why not? I am so glad we checked it out because they had so many different Funkos I wasn't used to seeing, particularly in the recent movies, cult classics, Disney, and anime categories. For instance, I had no idea there were Fruits Basket ones. Mind you, I am an unserious collector. Even though I told myself No Pops after I finally found my holy grail (Crowley + Aziraphale) at The Cave in July, I could not resist buying my kitty's namesake. Each of the main three have their tiny animal selves in addition to human form. The person working the counter that day was awesome, and she talked to us about the collection, prices, and anime. It was such a fun shopping experience. She helps her boss manage the store, which is his personal collection. Imagine having so many of these you can open a small store like this? Wow. The AC was bumping thankfully because it was a hot September day. Yo Pop is also clean and well-organized; that is all her doing, she said. I appreciated her so much but forget her name already. I'm sorry! Turns out there was a buy 3 get a 4th (under ? $15 I think) free, so I walked out with Kyo, Andy from Alien: Romulus (did not know there were even Alienverse Pops before this place!), my cousin's Christmas present, and one additional Power Ranger for him. We had a hard time walking away from sparkling Edward Cullen but neither of us could afford him. Prices are labeled (I cannot stand when they aren't visible), and reasonable. They had an entire wall of $7 figures. The highly collectable ones are expensive everywhere, and there are even apps now to find and compare prices. None of which I've bothered with. There's fun for me in the randomness of the hunt. This store is 95% FunkoPop, but there are some other collectables and toys in here too. I saw some cool retro action figures and loungefly backpacks. So yeah. I maybe have a FunkoProblem. And yeah, I take them out of the box (*GASP*...they look cuter on my bookshelves this way) unless they're the valuable ones. My ineffables and Kyo are def not coming out of the box. Leave me a compliment if you too have a FunkoProblem.
