Good, laid back service for a chill food/beer joint! Perfect spot for bikers (either kind) who are wanting to eat after there beautiful ride up Suck Creek mountain or if you're near downtown and want to get away from the downtown craziness. Takes maybe 5 minutes from exit to get here. We asked for water and got bottled water, which was nice compared to the tap most places serve. Our bacon drifter was no frills and fantastic, while our pizza bread was a perfect starter. We loved sitting outside with the view of the river and mountain, fun music that isn't too loud, and tv screens with the latest sports. read more

I gave this place a shot but I cannot recommend it. Below average food, average service and just nothing that would ever make me want to return. We were also seated near the bar where there were some really drunk and noisy patrons cussing up a storm. We absolutely love this place. Staff is super nice, full of friendly regulars & the deck outside is a beautiful view of raccoon mountain. They have reasonable rent rates for stand up paddle boards and kayaks so we will definitely have to plan doing that one day and coming in for their amazing food and a beer afterwards as it's right across the street from the Tennessee River. We've been on a Tuesday for taco Tuesday ($1 beef and cheese or bbq tacos served on small flour tortillas) both yummy and well worth $1! Haha! We've been in on wing Wednesday ($1 wings with several sauce choices.) we did dry with buffalo on the side and all loved them. So many good wings and burgers in this town, I almost hate we found another place with amazing wings and of course amazing burgers. Thursday is $1.50 beers (limited selection) and that is the time we got a burger and fries. Oh I forgot, their fries are thick almost steak fries but curled. Super good! It was ok...They were out of fries at 6:30pm!!! I love fries, and theirs had such good reviews. The shrimp in my po'boy was delicious, but I didn't care for the bun. Went to River Drifters on Saturday afternoon, June 26, 2021. I will say the parking, well, It's sucks! Not much parking in front of the restaurant but plenty of parking on the other side of Suck Creek Rd. But who's go to a restaurant because they have good parking. And that's is the low point. Walk in and greeted right away. Said we my seat ourselves where ever we like. Found a booth toward the front were the local band Flattop Boxer played that afternoon. They were Awesome! Our waitress, Emma let us know what local breweries were on tap and soon our beers arrived. We placed our order and the band started to play. I order the Bacon Drifter double stack burger ($9.50) with smoked bacon and all the fixings. Oh! it was so Good and Juice! Added the Red Potatoes Salad ($2.50) FYI, side are extra. But they are so worth it! My wife order the Coconut Shrimp with Thai sauce ($10) and a side order of coleslaw ($2.50) No shortage of coconut on the shrimp. Saw this gem on the way to go boating for the afternoon and hoped it wouldn't be busy on our way back. To our delight it was busy BUT we were greeted right away could seat ourselves and our adorable waitress- Farrah was at the table quicker than we could sit down. She recommended the burgers so we both got the bacon drifters with a side of fries. OH MY GOSH! We started with the mozzarella log and again OH MY GOSH! This is a fun local spot to grab some good eats. We had the Cuban and the catfish, both very good. The staff is super friendly and service is quick, even the owner comes around to check on you. The house draft beer, I believe called drifter, is light and yummy. I only have two comments 1) a single small filet seems like a light portion when ordering catfish (the catfish is fried perfectly btw!) and 2) the restrooms could have used some attention. read more

Family came in from out of town and wanted to go some place local that was not a chain. As always service was spot on and food was outstanding. My family from out of town want to come back again next time they are in town. It was last minute set up and there were 11 people in our party. They were quick to accomodate us and our waitress was the best. She kept the drinks full, and kept asking if there was anything else she could bring us. This place is so awesome! Such a cozy little home town spot with lots of smiles and good food! I've gone for karaoke nights on Fridays and it's a blast! Writing a good review for River Drifters is long overdue for me. My family has been enjoying their burgers, fries and wings for years now. We think they have the best burgers in town (the bison burger is amazing) and their fries are perfect. Today we went in and I decided to put their vegan option to the test -which is usually where a good burger places loses it. I tried the Vegan Flyer and had it as a meal and it did not disappoint. It was delicious, fresh and filling, like a Mediterranean vegan pizza if you can imagine that. I don't know anyone in Chattanooga who hasn't loved the food here, and if you're an out of towner you'll get a real local vibe. A bonus here is that the atmosphere is truly laid back (you can come in looking like a hot mess from a day out on the river) and you'll get met with friendly servers and an attentive owner whose almost always there. River drifter's is always a little busy because they're that good, but we've always gotten a table and been taken care of In a timely fashion. They have several tables that can host a large group and they have a decent beer selection to boot. read more

Our waitress, Julia, was so nice and gave us some great recommendations. I'm a burger guy and this is one of the best I've had anywhere. Every bite seemed to get better and better. We ordered: River melt with side salad (homemade croutons) and coleslaw; Chicken Salad Croissant with fries; cheeseburger with fries and appetizer of pork egg rolls. Everything we had was delicious! We picked up our order to go and ate at our condo. I ordered over the phone for pickup and the employee who took my order was very helpful and pleasant. I would like to give River Drifters 4 stars. The service was good, friendly atmosphere about as laid back as you can get, food was good quality old fashioned bar food but it cost too much for what it is. Plus they nickle and dime you. The server offered me a sample of a craft draft they had and I said thanks. What she didn't tell me was that was going to cost me a buck, something that pretty much never happens when you are offered a beer sample in a craft beer bar. The total bill for a burger and chips (better read the menu carefully-they charge $1.00 for chips and $2.50 for the fries, which are good) and a very good club sandwich with fries, along with 3 beers was over $40.00. If you had the same thing at Mike's Hole in the Wall or Merv's it would be around $10.00 less. read more

Awesome place!! The cheese sticks are AMAZING!! Everyone should try these. I got the River Melt and it was HUGE!! My husband got the double standard and loved it.
