Rachel, is the absolute BEST! I started going to her 2.5years ago and I have no plans on going anywhere else. She is very talented and always up for trying any nail design I bring her.

It was nothing of what I have requested...

The place is decent, no waiting line, the workers are elderly women 1 young women.. the young woman is the one who did my nails, and honestly, she was in the phone the majority of the time so she didn't pay attention to what I was asking her or she didn't understand what I wanted, which was something very simple which was a pearl color French tip She ended up doing just a regular white tip .. They are not ugly but it's not what I requested and I got them very short and they charged me over $60. I will not be going back again. The vibe was very boring no music no TV. The staff was basically just lounging, falling asleep and getting massages on the pedicure chairs...

I've been going to River Nail Spa for over a decade now--it's been my go-to spot ever since I first heard about it. When I initially started going, Kelly was my nail tech, and she was great. After she left, I kept hearing amazing things about Rachael. Everyone seemed to request her, so I finally decided to book with her--and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Rachael has been my nail tech ever since, and I wouldn't trade her for anything. She's the only one who consistently understands and brings my nail art ideas to life with creativity and precision. Most recently, I went in for a mani and pedi refill after the loss of my great uncle, who was like a grandfather to me. Of course, I booked with Rachael, and as always, she did not disappoint. She created a beautiful set with a marble twist, inspired by and in honor of my late grandfather, Jose Adan Duarte--JAD. Thank you, Rachael, for always going above and beyond. Your talent and customer service mean more than you know.

I came in and there were no customers. I got gel pedicure and manicure, my manicure lady (Dona) was amazing, however the pedicure lady with gray long hair (who did not want to give her name) did not do a proper job. From missing the lotion, massage, and warm towel, to not removing cuticles and making me bleed. She also got aggressive That I kept moving my leg when she was hurting me. Do not recommend her. I have been here many times and everyone else is wonderful.

This place is pretty decent prices are fair but if you're coming here for the first time, please don't let Tammy do your nails. This lady literally cut my finger. Put acrylic all over my skin. I asked her to please stop filing so hard and so rough and she continue to do it she when I pulled away. She got upset and starting to be even more rough so rough that she cut my skin and made me bleed. Not all the mail techs working there are this messy

Both times I went in for gel and acrylic, I bled from the drill thing they use and it hurts. The second time I went in, 4 of my nails came off with in 6 days. The shapes of the nails were also uneven. I very rarely get my nails done because I cant afford it. This time I spent the money and tipped well only to have bleeding fingers, uneven nails that came off 6 days later. read more

This is my go to nail salon since I've moved to Baldwin park, I can I never been really disappointed or not satisfied with any of my services. Since I been going I hear Rachel is the absolute best and the last time I got a service done was today and I was hoping I can make an appointment with Rachel so i called and the lady on the phone made sure the time was set. So I go and wait about 10 minutes to be helped and nail technician Julie did my nails a little upsetting cause I really wanted them done by Rachel since so many people have nothing but good things to say about her service. If you come here avoid Nancy doing your nails. Last time we come to this place. Came to get a mani+pedi and everything was great at the start. For the pedicure she didn't polish all the way up which is fine, I let that go. But when she began to do my grandmas manicure I asked her nicely to polish the whole nail since she left the top part unpolished & she got upset and started grabbing and polishing my grandmas nails aggressively. She did not do any cuticle care and only trimmed and painted the nails for the manicure. $20 manicure no gel and paint on your fingers. Regret trying this place out. However, the second star is for the man( didn't get his name) that did my grandma's pedicure as he was very sweet. read more

I have been here a couple of times now and I actually enjoy my time here. I think they do a good job overall. I didn't give 5 stars because they do take a while to complete their tasks and when doing a pedicure they don't use new/fresh tools. Or at least when I get my pedicures there I notice the person doing my pedi always brings the tools out from a drawer and when scrubbing my feet I don't like that they quickly put their hands and scrubber in the water to clean off the scrubber and put it back in the drawer. Don't seem healthy reusing materials and tools on others. read more

This place is a lovely salon! It's spacious, very clean, and extremely close to my house (always a +). They seem to have instruments packaged before each use, maybe sterilized in the back area, and when a customer left, I saw them clean out the tub, which is relief since they do not use those cheap plastic slips. Kobie did my mani while Kelly did my pedi at the same time. I like the idea of a tag team, as my time there went by extremely fast. I was there less than an hour, and they didn't skimp out on my hand and foot massage. Both ladies did a fabulous job! I normally don't go to salons on a regular basis, but I was in desperate need of a cuticle clean up. I got a gel for my mani, and even though my pedi wasn't gel, they managed to match the color almost perfectly! I can't even tell the difference! My only knock down was the fact that they constantly talk to each other, and since I don't speak Vietnamese, it made me a little uncomfortable, but I don't know any salon where they don't do that. Glad they also accept CCs since I totally forgot to go to the bank. It's my first time here, so all in all, a very happy first visit. Thank, ladies! read more

I came here for a simple manicure & pedicure . First off for the manicure I had this old man work on me & I was happy because he didn't cut me but when it came to the polish it was so streaky & uneven & horrible . Mind you it was just regular polish not gel , so he didn't even give me the small fan to dry them , when he finished he told me to get up & go to the massage chairs for my pedicure , the polish was still dry & I had to grab my phone & purse & right away my polish got ruined bc he didn't give me time to dry them . I just told him to take it off & do clear polish . EVEN with the clear polish it was so streaky & bumpy it was awful. When he did my pedicure he cut my nails uneven & the clear polish again was horrible. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I think a 2.5 star would be a more accurate representation of my experience. Definitely didn't deserve a 3. I initially wanted to get my nails done at Queen Nails on Amar in La Puente but my friends wanted to go to this one so I decided to try this one out. Came in on the day before Christmas Eve and it was surprisingly not crowded (most nail salons are crowded on a normal day and even more crowded during the holidays). We were seated quickly (there was 5 of us). I wanted a dark blue gel mani with a swirly design on my ring finger. I was able to get the exact color I wanted which was awesome. The lady who painted my nails did a good job but somehwow managed to cut my thumb while buffing my nail. Monique did my design and it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I got the design from the Queen Nails' instagram (@queennailslapuente) so I knew if I wanted it exactly like that I should have gone there. But anyways, A for effort but a C for how the design looks. I understand my nail was pretty short but I think it couldv'e been done a lot better. My friends also didn't have the best experience either. One of my friends got a gel manicure and got cut really bad it wouldn't stop bleeding. My other friends had issues with the colors and also not enough layers of the color so you could see her nail still underneath the paint. Overall, if you're in the walmart area you might as well go inside of walmart and get your nails done at Regal Nail Salon. (They gave me a free flower design last time I went!) Or even better, head out to Queen Nails Salon, it's only about 5-10 min from walmart. Won't be coming back here, sorry! read more

I just got my nail fixed & the man who did my nail had to fix it 2 times. He cut me up , & he was filing my skin and my nail. He didn't even bother to clean the nail polish... ugh. Only reason why I didn't put 1 Star because the lady who did my pedicure, took her time & they look really good. read more

I have been coming here for the longest time, and for good reason, too. The ladies here are always very attentive, so I never feel like they're rushing to get done. I have had the pleasure of getting my full sets, mani/pedi's, and waxes done by Monique, Julie, Tina, and many others. The environment is very relaxed and the prices are so reasonable. It's why I keep coming back. I just recently came in this past Sunday and Monique was able to give me the nail shape I wanted, even when they tend to be VERY time consuming. I'm a nail biter, so getting acrylics is the only way my nails can look good. She doesn't berate me for having tiny nails and I appreciate that so much. I have always been self conscious about my nails, so it feels good to know that she won't point them out. Anyway, that same day and up until now, I have been getting constant compliments on my nails. I love them so much and I am in constant awe over how well they last. So thanks again, Monique! So if you're looking for a place that is fairly inexpensive and want some stunning nails, come here and ask for Julie or Monique. You won't regret it. read more

If I could give this a no stars I would, it took 3 hours to get my nails done I asked the guy ahead of time if he knew how to do the almond shape nails and he said yes they did it the normal way old fashion way and then he filed them down to shape them and they are so ugly! They are slanted and so ugh ! I asked him to fix them and he made them worse ! I regret getting them done, one side is longer then the other !!! I didn't even want to stay to get them painted I just wanted to get out ! read more

I do not recommend this place. I think you kid or niece could do a better job! Went yesterday to get medium long acrylic nails. And walked out with short stubby nails!! Then guy who was doing my nails made them round at the edges when I clearly said square. My nails where crooked lumpy and even had a hair stuck in the acrylic! Gross!! The guy cut me multiple times. I finally walked away and went to someone else in the salon to fix the horrible job he had done and I was so frustrated I wanted them to be removed and they trimmed them hoping there was a possibility on saving them but no I was so over it. I got home to fix them a little by removing all the excess gel and acrylic and glue the guy had left on my hands and finger tips. They just do a horrible job read more

This place does a good job with their services, Except they do not sanitize their tools! They do not sanitize their stones and this caused an infection on my foot the very day after. It was confirmed by my doctor. I am very disappointed, because I now need to take oral medication for their lack of respect to others. I am sure they are not using the stones or the tools on themselves to do pedicures unless they are sanitized or new. This is not a free service, not sure why they don't care about their clients. People be careful where you get your tows done. Feet infections are extremely contagious. read more

2nd time I've been here and have received outstanding service! The 1st time I was serviced right away by Hang who did my manicure and I was so comfortable seeing how careful and precise he was being. He was also very friendly though we could not communicate very much with each other it was a pleasant time. The 2nd time was for a mani/pedi and they, once again, serviced me right away. This time I brought my daughter with me and saw there were other kids there too. One kind and friendly woman, who I unfortunately do not have the name of, gave a little girl a quick Halloween themed pedicure for free after she was done with her mother and then did my actual pedicure while making conversation with my daughter and while mine dried, gave my daughter a quick Halloween themed manicure for free as well. My 5 yr old was ecstatic! Will see them again soon. read more

I know I said I would never be back but I gave in & decide to give them another try. This time I was greeted upon arrival & I was sat in a pedi chair right away. The reason why my star raiting is remaining the same is because I felt Like I overpaid for the services compared to my usual place. I paid $50 for a gel mani/pedi. I usualy pay $42 where I go. Plus I was not happy with my hands, the girl did a sloppy job in filing my nails. I had them squared round & she overfiled the corners & made them round. Plus my nails look like they already need to be redone.... the only positive I can say is that I'm happy with the way my pedi turned out. read more

So, very unfortunate a worker can feel that it's appropriate to throw things because I didn't like the color I choose. When she had just polished one toe nail. I understand, the inconvenience and would pay for the her time and service. However, her behavior was very unprofessional and made me feel very uncomfortable. River Nails was my go to! Since it opened.I would get my full set, pedicure, eye brows waxed, and even facials. I was getting a gel manicure and the color that I picked off the palette did not match when she applied it on my nail. The lady attending me said "you have to keep in mind the paint on the palette is old" which I said that's fine, but I would like to change the color it doesn't matter if if I have to pay extra. She began talking in her language and all of the sudden every employee in the room began commenting in their language. I felt bad because I had to change it but I did not like the color so I apologized to her and she ignored me and just continued to talk in her language. One of the other employees came to look at my nails and began commenting and they kept looking at me and commenting ( I mean you can just tell when they're talking shit) this is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I would understand if I was a bitch about it but I wasn't + I said I would pay extra. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

It was my first time here and my last. The elderly man didn't know how to do anything he cut off my nail crooked, the paint in my toes were bumpy from the cheap nail polish they used. He didn't even scrub my feet I still had dead skin on it. Not only did they mess up my nails but they messed up my sisters nails the lady who was doing hers was in a rush for no reason they weren't even packed. I have never had a good experience here and neither has my mom and sisters. The employees here are rude, at least the ones we have encountered. I'm giving this place 2 stars because it's cheap in price other than that I would have given it 1. But you get what you pay for. While I was getting mani and pedi the employees were talking throughout my entire session, and at one point made a joke about my legs. Even though they weren't speaking in English it was completely obvious. The woman got so distracted that she cut me not once but TWICE ! I left without tipping them and I didn't feel guilty at all. They did a shitty job, it honestly looks like I did them on my own. read more

Upon arriving at the front desk, they give you a spa outfit, some towels, and a wristband. The wristband unlocks your shoe locker and your separate clothing locker. The hot tub area is fully nude whereas the common areas are clothed. I went to grab some dinner and had the croaker fish. The service was fast and easy. The food is a little pricey but their meals came with a lot of bonchon so it made up for the cost! After dinner, I checked out the charcoal room, ice room and salt room. All the rooms were clean and had plenty of space for relaxing! Finally, I had a body scrub appointment at 8pm. I booked the scrub with Jenny and it was an experience! For those who never had a korean body scrub before, you have to soak in the hot tub for 20-30 mins. Then your masseuse will call your name and bring you in the side room. Then you lie on your back on the table and get the ultimate scrub down! I felt so much lighter after the scrub. My skin tone was even and felt baby soft. Then she also give you a cucumber facial and wash your hair for you! My hair was super silky and smooth. They have dyson hair dryers in the women locker rooms which made it easy for me to get ready. Then, when I was ready to checkout, I brought the clothes and wristband to the front desk and I was out of there!

They also have separate lounges for men and women, which makes the whole experience feel more private and refined. The essential oils used are from doTERRA -- clean, natural, and not overpowering. I tried their 90-minute "Fresh Ginger & Mugwort Herbal Massage," and the whole treatment follows a very thoughtful, traditional wellness flow: It starts with freshly ground ginger applied to the body to warm you up from within -- you can literally feel the cold leaving your body Then comes hot stone therapy to raise your body temperature and deeply relax your muscles Finally, warm mugwort herbal compresses are used along pressure points, inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, leaving your body feeling light and rebalanced My therapist Tina had a very gentle and soothing technique -- not overly intense, but incredibly effective. He concentrated on all of my problem areas and I felt happy and relaxed afterwards. The quiet room is clean and comfy and I was given a tasty little fruit cup. Now the bad: The price for a massage is reasonable, but you must pay an additional 39.00 if you want a to use their lockers or robe, take a shower or use the jacuzzi. This was unexpected and confusing. Before arriving, I had called for clarification of this policy and was only told that they would charge 39.00 for use of the jacuzzi. I had no idea that I wouldn't be given a robe or allowed to shower without paying the extra fee. I'm in a spa club and I have never run into this issue before. This confusion may have been due to a language barrier. The shower area has a sign saying that you must run the hot water for 10-15 minutes to obtain hot water (!). I did so and still had to take a cold shower because the water never got hot. The only towels available are very small and very thin. They are not large enough to wrap around your body. The jacuzzi area shows deferred maintenance with broken tile, missing robe hooks and mold/mildew on the ceiling between the jacuzzi and the showers (ick). This is a nice facility, but the policies are confusing and it's sadly lacking in general upkeep. (See pics)

I would definitely recommend adding the $10 hot stones! It made the whole experience even better. They used multiple stones and left them on my back for that nice warmth. Some places only use a couple of stones throughout the massage, so I appreciated the extra stones. I left feeling much lighter and less tense, and I ended up sleeping incredibly well that night.

The woman who did my massage didn't give me her name when I asked. I got a 60 min body massage which is $50 and a facial that's an extra $10 so my total was $60. First she did the facial and it was okay she then told me to go into one of the rooms with a curtains a cover. She told me to undress so I can have the body massage. (When you do the body massage as a female you take off everything including bra except your underwear.) now I had no problem with this the first time I was here. But this time there was a camera that was in a high position that I spotted looking directly at me. Once I looked at it, it turned in the opposite direction. I was becoming very uncomfortable. I took off my clothing but kept my undergarments on and laid on my stomach. She came in and unhooked my bra and slid it off of me. Once the massage was over she told me to change and meet her at the front. I covered myself with a towel and looked to see if the camera was pointing my way and sure enough it did and once again when I looked at it turned the other way. I went in a corner where the camera couldn't see me and put my clothes on. And that surely has to be an invasion of privacy. This made my experience bad and uncomfortable. So I only planned to pay the $60. I went up to the front and she asked me about a tip. I initially wasn't going to tip because of how uncomfortable I felt, but I felt that she did a pretty decent job on my massage, not professional or above average. It was mediocre and decent. So I said I'd tip her 5$ she laughed and said "it's okay you can tip $10 instead" I said no and that $5 was fine. She looked at me in disgust and charged me. So I was expecting a total of $65. She was silent throughout this whole transaction and then gave me my receipt and waved me goodbye. I looked at the receipt and she charged me $67. So she tipped herself $7. I was mad but I just let her have the $7 and not make a hassle and walked out. In all this I may be seen as dramatic or something negative. But I would want anyone to know all of this. Because when you get a massage you WANT to feel good. To feel at ease. Why get scammed about this. And this was the receipt. I will not come here again.

Never coming to this place again I do not like when the nail tech told me one thing and then charged differently. It is a very predatory tactic. Highly disappointed with my experience. Also for me they put something on my feet and it burned. One of my toes was left with a burn mark. The nail tech also didn't really understand English so it took her awhile to take off the product so I had to dip my foot inside so I wouldn't burn the rest of my toes.

I visited this nail salon recently, hoping for a relaxing experience, but unfortunately, it was far from it. While the nail technician was friendly and did a decent job on my manicure, the salon's cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The biggest issue? I actually saw bugs in the salon -- and managed to capture a photo. It's really disappointing to see this kind of hygiene issue in a place where cleanliness should be a top priority, especially when dealing with open skin and tools. I won't be returning until they clearly address their sanitation practices. I hope management takes this seriously, because no one wants to worry about pests while trying to enjoy some self-care. read more

Don't come here. Especially if you're black. I literally walked in just to get my acrylics removed, got seated and AS SOON AS ANOTHER (white looking person) walked in THEY SERVICED THEM FIRST, GREETED THEM A LOT MORE KINDLY THEN THEY DID ME, AND THEN TOLD ME TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE PERSON. Plus they're not even good. They too rough on cuticles and make nails bleed and they don't know how to do designs, and did I mention...they discriminate against black people. Racist a** business.
