I've been coming to Cathy's Nails since they first opened in July 2019, and I've always had a great experience. Cathy, the owner, is incredibly talented and specializes in builder gel, among many other nail services. One thing I really appreciate is that she keeps up with the latest trends by adding new colors, techniques, and services. Although Cathy is usually booked by appointment, I typically see Mimi or Sami, and they both do an excellent job. They also accept walk-ins, which is convenient. There's another nail technician who wears either a cross or pearl necklace (I don't know her name), and she does beautiful manicures as well. Like most businesses, their prices have increased over the years, but I still find them reasonable for the quality of work. During my most recent visit, I got a basic pedicure ($23) and a manicure. Cathy repaired one of my natural nails using builder gel and powder, and my nails turned out beautiful. My total, including a $5 tip for each technician, came to $78. If you're getting gel polish, keep in mind it's an additional $10, which is clearly communicated. Overall, the staff is friendly, the salon is clean, and I've trusted them with my nails for over seven years. Two days after my pedicure I got an infection on my skin and near my toe nail on my middle toe. I have never had an ingrown nails nor any feet related problems until I came here. I am about to try to normalize complaining about bad service. It is not fair that you are almost forced to choose something you don't want because they don't want to do it. I wanted dip and they kept insisting for gel. I have never felt so rushed to get me off a chair before. I will not come back. You will feel like just another number/$$ to meet their quota for the day. You will not come to get away for a few minutes from your crazy day to get just an ounce of pampering here. I haven't been to this place in months, decided to give it a try again. My nails weren't exactly what I wanted and the nail tech seemed annoyed anytime I pointed out something I didn't like. On my way out, I was paying with my credit card and they told me it was a $5 charge. "$120 cash or $125 card." It is ILLEGAL in the state of CA to add any surcharges to credit card transactions or charge convenience fees. I had Cathy do my nails. My recommendation would be to book an appointment for full sets. She did an almond shape with design Each designed nail is an additional $5. It came out to $45. She paints the nails very nicely. The shape isn't bad. I had never done almond, I usually have coffin shape or oval. I think the best part of the experience is the color of my nails. Cathy is the best she always does the best nail art for me and really takes the time to make sure I love my set each time.

I asked for a french tip manicure as pictured, but needed a full set since my nails were too short and the shape was rounded. The lady who approached me to work on my manicure misunderstood, and when she was about to start the french tips on my natural short nails, I had to tell her what I wanted, and she got upset because she didn't do full sets. I showed the picture I wanted and told her I needed a set because my nails were too short and I wanted that square shape. It was definitely not going to look like the picture if she proceeded to work on my natural nails. She then speaks to her colleagues and leaves and stares me down, giving me the side eye as she walks past me. The other manicurist proceeded to do my nails, but she was definitely really fast that she cut my cuticles with the edge of her nail drill. The acrylic was also very thick and it was overall, a sloppy job since I had acrylic and gel polish onto my skin under my nails. She also didn't file it neatly as some of my nails were crooked and had acrylic flooded to the sides to the point I had to separate it from my skin. The gel polish was also uneven when she capped the front because the acrylic was thick. I also didn't get any lotion or a hand massage which should normally be part of the service, but because there were more customers coming in, she sent me on my way after filing the sides of my nails once last time for only my right hand, before applying some cuticle oil. Note that I did make an appointment with them, but still did not get the full service. Definitely a disappointing experience. I don't think I will return especially if I had to pay $45 for results that I received. I wouldn't mind the price if the work was done properly and customer service was better. I also think they need to do better with sanitizing their equipment and tools. Everything seems to be reused and placed back on their carts for the next customer... Very concerning... read more

WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT COME HERE. I live pretty close to this place so it's convenient. But I would travel 100's of miles than go here again. i've been to Cathy's about 2 times. The first time i had my nails done, they had me go BEHIND the building and sprayed some random chemical on me so the bugs wouldn't come around. I was then able to get a pedicure inside the place. The lady messed me up so bad that I had to go to urgent care to get an ingrown toenail removed. That was during covid, so I let it slide (like an idiot). I decided to give them another chance and everything was fine. Nothing spectacular but I got my full set and a pedicure no problem. Today I came in for a fill, I walked in and the man (pretty sure it's cathy's husband) wearing a knock off gucci mask from the swap meet gave me a dirty look and asked me "What do you want" I said "Hi can i get a fill and a pedicure" He then yells at me and says "NO TIME". When I say yell I mean like your momma yelling at you to get in the house. There are children running around the store and MULTIPLE manicurist sitting in their phones. They also had many customers in there wearing no masks. Not to mention how they run place. Commonly touched surfaces and objects are not cleaned frequently. Nail ladies use the same tools all day without cleaning them. I'm pretty sure they can get their license revoked for all the disgusting things they do. and the terrible customer service done by fake gucci mask man. Once again avoid this place at all costs unless you want to go to urgent care for an infected ingrown toenail and to be yelled at like a child. read more
