Had to write another review about these POS MFers.....my niece had the battery replaced on her vehicle, but the knuckleheads who work here couldn't figure out how to properly attached the cable so the battery was never really connected. She took it back multiple times only to be feed her some BS. Poor things keep having to pop the hood to jiggles the wire in order to start the car. Obviously this put her in a very vulnerable position when leaving work at night. Finally my brother went by there to confront them about it, and manager (can't even say his name) told him they couldn't work on it because it requires a European technician......they had already changed the battery!! Anyway, my brother drive it down to Midas, literally down the street, and they properly tightened the cable, FOR FREE!! WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE. My girlfriend went there to get an alignment and to see what was wrong with her back tires. The bald guy working at the front made a very gender-motivated assumption that my girlfriend hit something (because she's a woman? Or maybe because she's asian?) and she got quoted $850.00 for an alignment, to fix a bolt in one of her wheels, and to replace her two back tires. I told her to get out of there and go somewhere else. Other place quoted her $450 for the same service. Messed up my car renewal: They wrote the wrong plate number for when they did the car inspection! I had to go and get it inspected again from another place because they wouldn't fix it Over priced: Charged me $700 for a small dent in my car. When I went to another shop they said they would have only charged me $50 and that this place screwed me over Also when they did this "repair" they scratched my car up. Definitely the worst place if you are wanting to deal with a liar and con man who will over charge you for things just because it's in river oaks. When I confronted him he argued with me. read more

I have gone here on two occasions to fix a leak in my tire. The first time patched up with no issues. The second time I got it patched and drove back to my apartment (less than 1 mile away). The next day I came outside and the tire was completely flat. When I approached the firestone about a refund for the tire they failed to properly patch, they gave me a lackluster excuse about how I must have picked up a hole on the way back to my apartment (a 2 minute drive from the Firestone). They told me the manager would reach out over the phone to discuss the issue with me...no surprise he never did. It's places like this that make you feel like car repair shops are trying to swindle and take advantage of you any chance they get. This location was recommended to me by multiple coworkers who have lived in river oaks for 15+ years. Safe to say they will not be receiving any repeat business from any of us. I brought in a tpms sensor in to be replaced on my wheel. They charged 50 bucks for the job. Please note that I dropped of both parts - no car taking up a bay or guy to eat time by messing with the car. Attendant said to call discount tire and see what they would charge. Discount tire offered same job for 10 bucks. Still stuck with the $50 bill. River oak firestone job was done well and the building was clean. Price was inexcusable. read more

Awesome Customer Service. I started to smell something burning every time I started and drove my car. Thought it was super odd, so I brought it to these guys that were close to my work. Turns out it was due to some stuff in my muffler. These guys could have easily upcharged me, but didn't. They also changed my oil and filters for me in a timely manner. My truck had a limitless amount of work that needed to be done. I got in a wreck (fender bender as you could say) and Eddie took care of everything. By everything, I mean he went out of his way to get new lights, new door handle, fix my sensors on my 06 dodge. The part that really touched me was that he fixed the paint on my drivers side door that had been bothering me for years. He buffed out all of the unwanted dents and did the most amazing job, I'm in awe. Replaced the break pads, tire rotation, alignment, EVERYTHING i needed- he fixed. I brought my car in for it's 65,000 miles maintenance on May 7. Less than 2000 miles later, I got a warning light that my AdBlue fluid needs to be refilled. I paid almost $2000 for the maintenance service, and was assured by Robert that everything was taken care of. I called and spoke with Eddie, and he told me no problem just bring the car back and they will refill the fluid. When that was done, he told me there was a cost of $78. I disagreed and point to the fact that this should've been done when I had the maintenance. This was always the case when I had my car serviced at Audi. He refused to accept any responsibility and told me that the light wasn't on, so they had no way of knowing. Are they the professionals or not?? My car has a diesel engine, and the AdBlue is required with every oil change. Why would they not know this? In the end, I just paid to get out of there. I came here after reading many positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was not a good one. I did not get the service that I paid for, had to take time out of my schedule to bring the car back, then get charged on top of that. Unprofessional and dishonest!!! read more

I should have read the previous review before going to River Oaks Firestone. The facility is close to home .My daughter took her car for a routine State inspection and walked out with a $311 bill for such minor things as tire rotation, oil change, wiper blades, license plate lamp. I truly believe she was taken advantage of and the license plate lamp is not even working!! I plan to return tomorrow to address this with the manager. I could give them negative stars if I could. Don't go there. I just went there to get my brake fluids flashed and they asked me to do state inspection with them. I drive a BMW and they told me that I needed new tires or otherwise will fail my state inspection. No thank you. I was having so many car problems, and I normally don't write reviews on any type of internet site. But I SO strongly felt like I needed to write a review. My 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe battery was dead, and (as we later found out) it was jumped backwards twice and caused so much damage to my car. I called Firestone before I knew what was wrong as they're my typical go-to place for car issues. I said "hey, I just need to ask a quick question. Just your advice." And I explained what happened and they told me what they thought happened, and suggested that I bring the car in. Which, ultimately, I couldn't do because my brakes were locked and my computer system was fried. So after getting my car towed there, I worked with Woody and Eli for the duration of my car being in the shop. They put up with my calling multiple times a day to figure out what was wrong with my car, called me when they figured out anything new, and TOTALLY kept me informed. I really need to take the time to praise the work ethic and kind nature of Woody. He is the most genuine general car mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. From the minute I called with concern about my car to the bad news of needing to take it into the dealership for further inspection, he was purely delightful. I truly thought and still think I will "always have a friend at Firestone willing to take care of [me]". I will ABSOLUTELY be returning for the personal care towards me and mechanical care towards my cars for as long as I possibly can. Thank you Firestone!! read more

This is the first review I've ever felt writing but River Oaks Firestone deserves it. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and honest. I'm a mechanical engineer and I've worked on cars my entire life. I just don't have time to do my own maintenance anymore so I've been coming here. From my experience, this isn't the shop that tries to up sell you or have work done you really don't need to do. I recently had a few lingering items I had been putting off but I knew they were there. Woody and Robert saw the same issues, pulled the parts out to inspect them and found they're worse off than I expected. They explained exactly what was wrong but also showed me the parts to prove they're not blowing smoke.I had them make the repairs and they did a couple additional small services for free. They've even told me when something really didn't need to be done. That really means something to me because every other shop wants to do some gimmick repairs. Their customer service is top notch and they stand behind their work. If you need a shop anywhere in Houston, trust these guys. I'll never go anywhere else. They are a model for how to run a business with honesty and integrity. Truly as good as it gets. read more

I had gotten a flat tire and was unable to switch my spare due to a back injury took my truck here and they took care of of that for me even picked it up from my place a mile down the road. Also I wanted to buy new wheels for my Tacoma and tires as well and have a suspension lift done. I was working with Mike who was very helpful. I know exactly what I wanted and had a budget, I'm not an expert but I've done this before so Mike made sure we were putting the right boots on my truck and lift. I was called to come in to make the final orders when I arrived a manager pretty much told me that they can't install my lift kit since I bought it else where, I was told that NTB sells the tires I was interested in that they do not have it in stock and would need to order it, which I totally understood was what we were doing. Without another thought this manager dismissed me and said we will call you tomorrow if we can install your lift. I wasn't even asked if I wanted to order my tires and even after I expressed I wanted to go ahead with my tire and wheel order, I was still dismissed l. They made me feel they did not want my business and was not good enough to do business with. I do not recommend going here. They treated me as if I was not a wanted customer. I will take my business elsewhere. I appreciate Mike's help but they wasted my time going there. I took time out of my day to go there and needed new tires for my truck, only to be dismissed. read more

What can I say except this place is basically heaven?? Elias and Eddie are customer service angels. They are friendly, smiling, helpful, and professional all the time. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon after going to three different places to get my interstate battery replaced because it was under warranty. No one else would do it and I needed to get to work. I brought it in and they replaced it for me in under an hour. I came back on a Friday for an oil change and I will be back to get my inspection done soon. I love it here. They have all my fave magazines, free secured Wi-Fi and the AC is refreshing and not too cold. The bathrooms are nice and clean and smell good. Most importantly, their prices are good, fair and they have coupons! I'm more than satisfied and will be returning here and only here for all my auto service needs. This place estimated it would take us 2-2.5 hours to change the wheels on my boyfriend's car, and yet, here we are 3.5 hours later still waiting for it. I understand that they're busy, but that time estimate was 40-50% off. If this were a respectable business, they wouldn't waste their customers' time like this. Update: took my car to another repair shop for a AAA inspection--the kind you do with a used car before selling it to prove it's in decent shape. They did not find the same problems that River Oaks Firestone identified as a safety issue that could lead to a loss of control. So, in my opinion, they're down to 1 star and batting .500 on repairing my car. Me and google are batting 1.000 on repairing my car and avoiding unneeded repairs. read more

Wish I'd read these other reviews before going here for my state inspection. I'd been there once before to get my oil changed and felt they were trying to take advantage of me, but managed to walk out without the $600 bill they were trying to force on me. When I went back for my state inspection, they failed me for wiper blade issues and balding tires, which is apparently their M.O. based on the other reviews I'm reading here. After being fast-talked by their snake oil salesman (the little guy with the well-manicured beard - if you've met him you'll know what I mean), I ended up with a $600 tire replacement/other repair job that I'm still not convinced I needed. They 100% took advantage of me, and by the time I realized it it was too late. Don't let this happen to you. Do NOT go to this Firestone. EVER. I should also mention that they gave me that BS little $10 off card after I expressed my dissatisfaction. Unbelievable that they do this as a regular business practice. read more

Be VERY CAREFUL when taking your car here for a state vehicle inspection. I took my car here during my lunch break for an inspection; I both called ahead of time and asked when I arrived about the wait time and they quoted me 30 minutes. After an hour of waiting, they informed me that their "system had been down" but that they'd be done in 15 minutes (it happens, no big deal). Of course, a guy comes out and shows me a nasty air filter (almost surely not my actual air filter) and a whole long list of other "dangerous" issues with the car - no surprise, but I was already late for work, so I asked him to write everything down for me but that I wouldn't have time for any repairs today. When I go to check out, they charged me for an air filter and said they replaced it. When I said that I had told him I didn't want to do that today, they said he misunderstood me, but didn't offer to waive the charge. Because I was now 30 minutes late getting back to work, I didn't have time to argue - totally unnecessary charge and completely against my request. If you're looking for a state inspection, take it literally anywhere else, because this place is a scam. read more

I agree with all of the other bad reviews on here. If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. They take advantage of people who seem ignorant of vehicle knowledge--pretty much everyone, according to them. And they DO NOT fix any problems. THEY MAKE THE PROBLEMS WORSE. My first (and what I'd hoped would be my last time going in there) I went in for an oil change, and some idiot managed to unhinge, and break the hinges off of my glove box! My car is practically brand new! He offered me the "it was like that before" but when I persisted that my car was in great condition before he mangled my interior, he begrudgingly tried to put in an effort to roughly shove it back into place. This happened months ago and my glove box will STILL drop open while I'm driving. I had hoped to be done with this place, until a few weeks later oil started dripping from my car, spilling TONS of oil all over the driveway. I took it in to a DIFFERENT Firestone, thinking there was a simple leak. Oh, no! I wish! The guy looking at my car looked HORRIFIED. Without any explanation, he asked me where I took my car to be serviced last. I told him "River Oaks Firestone." He said "Of course, that makes sense." Apparently, this has happened before. Whoever was changing my oil forgot to replace a gasket of some sort, left TWO gaskets in there, thus causing every drop of oil in my car to explode all over everything under my hood! They guy at this separate Firestone told me he didn't feel comfortable with me driving this "deathtrap" (his word) so it had to be towed! They couldn't fix it since the other Firestone worked on it last, so they had to take my car back there. When they called the manager of River Oaks Firestone, to tell them my car was on the way, that manager persisted to say that it was MY FAULT! I was so taken aback, it was hard not to start screaming a slur of vulgarities in the middle of the lobby. Thankfully, the mechanic who made the call for me said everything I'd wanted to say to him, and more! Unfortunately, this will probably cause MANY other disturbances to the other equipment under the hood. When I brought that up to River Oaks Firestone to pick up my car DAYS LATER, they offered me a 10$ off coupon for my next visit. DO THEY REALLY THINK I'LL BE BACK THERE? read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I never write reviews, but I am writing today to warn any who might consider giving this shop your business: Don't. First of all, they are ridiculously expensive. Conveniently located, you might be tempted to pay a little extra to drop off and pick up to and from work. But don't do it. This shop has deteriorated to an unrecognizable shadow of its former self. They find something expensive to fix when you take your car in for state inspection, or tire rotation, or other low cost maintenance. They "fix" your car only to have it break again the next day. Then they deny they did wrong. When you ask to speak to the manager, you get a clerk. The "manager" claims there is no owner. This runaround likely fools those less saavy consumers, like the little old lady crying in frustration outside by her car who bent my ear for 20 minutes. But there's an owner. He is a Firestone franchisee. And Firestone will next hear all about how this particularly bold franchisee is tarnishing it's name. Stay away. read more

I'm not sure why the low reviews. This place was GREAT!! I went in to get my tires rotated since I purchased them at Firestone several years back. When they went to air the tires, they noticed a nail in one of my tires. They repaired it for free and they even gave me a bottle of water while I waited. They were super friendly and I really appreciated them not trying to upsell me any additional services while I was there. They have earned my trust and will be back! read more

I am new to the Houston area and took my car here for a routine oil inspection and was treated like family. They always greet you as you walk in and my second visit to this Firestone I was greeted with "Welcome Back!" I especially love the way this place does business because they keep you informed of what they are working on or what needs to be done to your car. Clearly I am not a mechanic so they told me step by step what they would be doing to my vehicle. While waiting during my first visit I was offered refreshments. After my second visit, when they had to keep my car over the weekend, it was returned to me cleaned inside and out (this is the cleanest it has been in months). Also, the facility is very well kept. I feel like I can trust all of the employees here. I stayed in contact with Woody, or Wassim Bouras, who was extremely helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone!
