Good service and nice ambiance that sadly is not supported by the food. Which, in a word, is bland. Not a spice to be found in any of the dishes we tried- not even salt and pepper. And everything was overdone or burnt. Which was a shame because the menu options looked so promising! If you are just looking for a clean watering hole/pub to catch the game or grab a beer, this might be a great option (although there are others fairly close by which would also fit the bill). I've always enjoyed this place if it is just to sit and have a few drinks or eat a meal. Typical sports bar layout and fairly small (it can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings) but the portion sizes are massive and the food is quite good. The Club and falafel are my favourites but don't miss a chance to check out the fried pickles, buffalo wings, and ALL of the entrees are excellent. I'm not a huge fan of the ranch they use here (a bit vinegary for my taste) but the hot sauce is very good and the kitchen staff is quite adept and finding a really good taste for every dish they serve. In addition, they will go out of their way to make a meal for you to your exact wants... you need only ask the waitresses. Will definitely continue to be a repeat customer. read more

I've eaten here twice and the food is really good and everyone I've spoken to is super polite and nice. I'm only leaving the fifth star off because my food was cold (it was to go) I only live a few miles away so that was disappointing. And I don't mean luke warm I mean completely cold. A very nice neighborhood bar and grill. The portions were huge. Fish and chips, a giant BLT and fried pickles to die for. Small little place tucked inside of the shopping center. The 2 servers/bartenders were very attentive and personable. Maybe a bit on the pricy side but I will definitely be back for more of their menu. read more

This was a stop we made bar hoping one Friday night. One of the guys we were with had mentioned this place, so we decided to check it out. We had eaten earlier in the night and just wanted to stop somewhere and get a few beers. Two of the nine guys I was with ordered desserts. It was the cheesecake and the cobbler dish. I tried both and they were good. Not great, but good. What really surprised me was the selection of beers. For a place called a pub I expected a little more. They had a small selection of tab beers. A few local favorites like Big Boss and Lone Rider products, but then the rest were just you average domestic fair. Our waitress Megan was nice. The pub is small, which I have no problem with. I like going to smaller bars. Gives it a good European feel, instead of giant TVs everywhere. I would like to go back and try the food. That could bring my review up a star. read more

The food is good. Not the service. It is slow to get wait on by the waitress. The prices are moderate. They offer outside seating. And plates are big. Full plate of food. The female waitress give better service to the males. And female tables have a problem. With the service. They tend to talk a lot with the males. And the waitress will walk away from female tables. And not come back.And complain not a tip. They give food and drink. Not volunteer to come back. We got a complimentary beverage each.Not volunteer to wait on much. And walk away from female customers and not come back much. And walk away while females are try to talk to them. And not write down order. Said it is not important. We said it is. And did it. Decor is plain. We got bad service. The waitress complained not a tip .Male tables get better service than Female tables. read more

After leaving an event, my family & I were searching Yelps restaurants nearby for food we were interested in eating at the time. Upon entering, River Pub waitstaff gave us a friendly greeting followed by top notch service. We were very, very pleased with the huge, spicy chicken wings being moist and having lots of kick-ass flavor sauce. Definitely worth coming back for that again. On the down side, I asked for a new side salad, as the salad cucumbers I was initially served did not appear fresh. You know how cucumbers stored in a refrigerator too long look when sliced, kinda watery and opaque? A disappointing sight when one expects fresh, crisp ingredients will be served in a tossed salad. Our waitress was pleasant about bringing me another salad. And, although the second salad had better looking cucumbers, I would not say they were the crunchiest, freshest addition either. On the other hand, my BLT on sour dough bread was as good as it gets with plenty of delicious thick sliced bacon. Going back for more of that real soon! read more

Easy to order but beware burger was very salty. After eating it I felt like I had swallowed sea water. Onion rings were OK and there were sufficient quantity. Would not try again after eating the River Burger. read more
