    Kids bowling

Clean bowling alley. They have upgraded the lanes to allow bowlers on the same lane to select bumpers or non-bumpers. This is a great option for those bowing with kids.

River Rand is awesome. We always love this old school bowling alley and appreciate their constant willingness to host kids parties and get togethers. We always have fun, the food is amazing and everyone leaves happy! Thank you, River Rand for your wonderful hospitality. Christine is awesome, and so good at coordinating and planning for kids parties. We thank the whole team for being so wonderful!

If you press "Menu" and then "Your lane, your way", you can play bowling mini games!

River Rand Bowl is a small bowling alley but packed with a lot of charm and great people. The lanes are extremely well taken care of, the ambiance is friendly - especially towards all people. The staff are accommodating and very nice. The technology in this alley is very high tech. You can play bowling mini games! Besides classic bowling, hit "Menu" - "Your lane, your way" and then access a full list of different bowling games. There's a classic bowling theme that gives you random facts and tips on how to do trick shots. There's "Mad Games" which includes an archery game, a monster factory game (you make your own personal monster by bowling to select the option), a person factory, and an "angry birds" style battle game where you and one other person face off against each other to take down your castles. It's a riot! There's also skill games you can play like No Tap. In No Tap, you only need 9/10 pins on your first throw to get a strike. There's "Head Hunter" where you HAVE to hit the head pin but you can't get a strike or you won't get points. There's "Evens and Odds" where if you get an even number of pins then you get a strike. If you get odds or a gutter ball, it's a spare. 3-6-9 gives you strikes in those frames automatically. It's basically a fast version of classic bowling. The rest of the skill games looked fun too! Overall, I had a fantastic time here. I had no idea that bowling alleys had mini games like this. Honestly, I hope River Rand Bowl starts advertising this because this really is a game changer. People next to us were like "what are you playing? Oh that's so cool!" Another suggestion I have is to get more balls that have bigger hand holes. My hands are pretty average I think, but we took a while finding balls with decently sized finger holes. I can't complain though, I need to buy my own ball. Other than that, the alley was beautiful and fun! Last night they offered a "bowl until midnight" special for roughly $25-30 for 2 people, included shoes. I think we played like 10+ games and bought drinks at the bar. Thank you for the wonderful experience, River Rand Bowl! I'm not from the area, but if I ever am, I will definitely recommend the place to friends and family. Thank you!

The plentiful and delicious brunch buffet goes for a very reasonable $35 per adult, $15 for kids 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under. Throw in a photo session with Santa and Mrs Claus and it's a fun holiday deal that can't be beat. This particular Santa was the most fun and gregarious Santa I have ever encountered also. After the photos, he spent some quality chat time with the kids he encountered. The food and food layout and seating layout here were great and it's a much better setup here than at the overly spread out Oakbrook location. I particularly enjoyed their prime rib, smoked salmon, and waffles with home-made whipped cream. Our server was prompt and attentive despite how busy it was. FYI - Pinstripes had some financial difficulty and was recently bought out by an outfit called Punch Bowl Social. They have closed some locations nationwide, but thankfully both Oakbrook and Northbrook look safe for now per the media. Yaay, and best of luck going forward!

William first had him bowl a few times with house balls to watch how he threw and also how different ball weights felt for him. Then he talked to him about the different types of grips and gave suggestions and also got my grandsons thoughts. He also explained the different way a polished ball moved on the lane versus a more flat finished ball. He also gave him a session on the lanes with his ball offering tips on bowling while watching how the ball fit and worked for him. I had contacted other pro shops that didn't offer any of the extra attention that William did. William just doesn't sell you a ball. Kings is a pretty large facility with games (notably bowling) along with food and beverage service. We sat at the bar, and a World Cup soccer match was broadcast on several large screens. Our kind server Derrion pointed out some of their specials, so we went with that sales pitch and ordered a couple of beers and apps. The pork dumplings were not one of the specials, but I liked them a bit better than the discounted items that we ordered. The nacho platter featured shredded pork, and we asked for the jalapenos on the side. We split the smashburger, which was served with waffle fries. The beers were cold and refreshing, as were the cups of water.

Initially we were in the main area by the bar and decided to move closer to the back by the arcade which ended up being much more cramped. I also had to bring balls from the front to the back so is recommend the front if there's an option. There were fun games in the arcade and 2 bars for service as well as booth seating throughout. Food was brought out and just okay. My faves were the buffalo wontons, avocado crostini and Korean bbq meatballs. Hot honey chicken sliders were okay. I'd pass on the meatball sandwich and sliders. The food was not hot so that impacted my experience. Not sure if these were special menu items though. Had a fun time bowling and wish we had one at home!

5 stars for Topgolf in Schaumburg!…read more This was my first time here, or at any Topgolf location for that matter. I had a great time here, you don't need to be Tiger Woods to have fun at Topgolf - all skill level players are welcome. You can pick multiple golfing games on screens in your section - you can do ones that only count if you hit the holes, ones that count your distance, ones that incorporate fun app games like Angry Birds and Sonic and more. Our server was very friendly/attentive at our section while golfing, she checked up on us a lot if we needed help or if we wanted to order anything. I didn't bother ordering food or drinks as it's all extremely expensive (eat/drink before you go). If you like mini golf, but regular golf isn't your thing, I think Topgolf is somewhere in the middle where you can have a great time at. Definitely check it out at least once, the earlier you go in the day, the less crowded it will be - especially early mornings.
