We bowl in several leagues here, and have seen the cost of drinks go up a lot over the last two years. We understand that the cost of living in general has gone up, but when a High Noon is more expensive at Stardust than at Rosemont, THATS A PROBLEM!!! ESPECIALLY, when you have a husband and wife working together, bussing tables - Meaning, one pushes the garbage and the other picks up the trash. The remaining 80% of their time "working" they are SITTING ON THEIR PHONES!! My family has been bowling here for about 5 years now. My daughter is currently on the youth and travel teams here. All the coaches and staff are amazing. There are many lanes so very rarely will you have issues getting an open lane unless they are hosting a big tournament. Lanes are kept well and facilities are clean. Restaurant menu is decent. Recommend the Reuben sandwich. Nice arcade and they have pool tables tho I've never used them so I can't comment on the quality. Pro Shop is great as well. read more

My family and I had such a blast at Stardust today I couldn't wait to get home to leave a review. On this Veteran's Day we couldn't think of any better way to spend the day together other than hitting up a bowling lane complete with an arcade. We started with two games and a pitcher, and the best perk was our lane was directly in front of the bar (super convenient). The bar also offered food so we grabbed tacos and a couple hotdogs. The prices for each meal were very satisfying for the generous serving sizes. We ended our third game and made our way over to the arcade. We loaded up a card with some credits and got lost in the nostalgia. We totaled up our tickets and redeemed them for prizes. We left with huge smiles on our faces anxious to return in a couple weeks' time. read more

Came here for the first time with my husband about a month ago, and it was fun! When we walked in, we couldn't believe how many bowling lanes there were! I think there are 80+ all lined up! They also have a bar/lounge and an arcade. We came on a Monday afternoon, so when we came, it was pretty slow, but we made a reservation to make our check-in easier. The people working were helpful with getting our reservation, but a little moody when we didn't know where to stand at first to check-in for our reservation. They were two older ladies. We reserved a lane and a pair of shoes for an hour and a half, and it honestly seemed expensive to us... but we haven't gone bowling in so long that maybe that's just how much bowling is everywhere. You rent the lane by how long you're playing instead of how many games you played and instead of per person, so because it was just me and my husband, we were able to finish like 4 games but we were so tired before then. Next time, I'd put 1 hour for only 2 people. For us to rent a lane for 1.5 hours, it was more than $60 because we needed the shoe rental. Idk, it seemed a bit crazy to me, but again, maybe everywhere is like that now. We did have a lot of fun and the place was pretty clean. Our reservation had our lane ALL the way at the end of the place, so we weren't around anyone at all which was nice. Random, but a big tip, DO NOT DRINK FROM THE WATER FOUNTAIN. I come here every week to bowl in one of their leagues. I've been two different leagues now and they've both been awesome and give out good prizes and what not! If you need to pre-bowl that can be a bit confusing as it's only certain hours like 10-5 on weekdays only and only if you call before. Which can be a bit hard for those who work a 9-5 job. That would be my only complaint. The bartenders are super nice and the food isn't bad at all for a bowling alley. Everything is pretty clean. Very decent bowling alley. So, I'm not a bowler (I really suck at it), not from the Midwest, not really into karaoke or video poker...or bowling alley food...even kids arcades (ok, drinks yes), but this place is AWESOME! On a recent business trip to the area, I was blessed with the opportunity to join a league for two consecutive Thursday nights matches...uh, what do you call it...games, sets, rounds? Anyhow, I was terrible. However, it was fun and the folks were very welcoming - thank you! I'm currently busy studying bowling terms for my return to Stardust Bowl in hopes of impressing my new crew. In case you're interested, learn with me: Bowling Terms - A to Z Approach - The act of taking steps towards the lane before rolling the ball; also the name of the area directly behind the foul line that contains three sets of dots used for lining up of the feet. Angle of Entry - The direction that a bowling ball takes when hooking into the pocket. Backup Ball - A ball thrown with reverse spin: hooking from left to right for right-handers and right to left for left-handers. Big Four or Big Ears - 4-6-7-10 split (also Double Pinochle, Golden Gate) Bed Posts - Another way to refer to the 7-10 split Blind - In league play, when one of the members of a team is not present, using his or her average instead (often with a ten pin penalty) Boards - One-inch wide strips of wood that you can see along the width of the bowling lane. There are 39 boards in total, and are numbered from right to left for right-handed bowlers. (Lefties count from left to right.) Brooklyn - Hitting the wrong side of the head pin. This causes the ball to hook more than usual Fingertip - A bowling grip in which your fingers are only inserted up to the first joint. It results in more hook, but is much harder to control. For this reason it is a grip for intermediate and advanced players. Five-Bagger - Five consecutive strikes Foul Line - The line that marks the start of a bowling lane. If your foot crosses the line, it is known as a fault and zero pins are scored. (If pins were knocked down, the pins are reset before the second ball is thrown.) Four-Bagger - Four consecutive strikes Golden Gate - 4-6-7-10 Split (Also Big Four, Big Ears, Double Pinochle) Handicap - Usually reserved for league play, this term refers to an amount of pins added to your actual score that is meant to even the playing field for bowlers of differing skill levels. It was my first time here. I came with my brother and some friends. The lanes are very nice and they seem to be on the newer end. I asked my brother if they remodeled the place and he said that because this place holds a lot of tournaments they upkeep it very well. They are still remodeling half the location but so far it looks good. Now my experience was fun. I'm not into bowling competitive like my brother and his friends. I tagged along to release some stress per say. It worked because after bowling for a couple hours my fingers were ready to fall out. I don't know how people do it to bowl almost everyday like my brother and his friends. The lanes are very shiny and well maintained. But yelpers be sure to use the proper shoes. Otherwise you will be slipping and sliding everywhere. I was lucky enough that I borrowed a pair of shoes. But I did notice some people bowling with regular shoes and they kept on falling. All in all this location looks old on the outside but as soon as you walk in you feel that sense of fun environment that anyone can enjoy. They do have billiards and a nice bar area. Alright, to say this place is big is a slight understatement. Let's just say that it has over 80 lanes, I mean I've never counted but we'll average out what other yelpers have written. If you want a cheap place to bowl, this is it. Mind you, the place is a little dingy, but you can always bring your own party to lighten the place up! I've never been to an establishment we're staff members make a true effort to cause you to feel awkward. The pure hostility could be felt by my entire family the whole time we were there. I'm not sure what really the problem is. If you look anything other than white, you will be starred at, mistreated and they will maliciously make your experience very unpleasant to make every attempt to cause you to want to leave sooner then later. Was surprised that they did not ID me, although I was of legal age to drink, they didn't ask me. I even asked one of the guys if he needed to see my ID and he said no, he believed me. Drinks were small and tasted bad. Old woman behind the bar looked like she didn't want to be there. Blonde bartender was so sweet and kind. One thing I did find strange was that the only balls we could find were 12 and up-we wanted lighter ones, like 8 and 9s but there were none. I asked the workers at the counter and said I'm looking for a lighter ball because there are none and they pointed me to go further down and guess what? Nothing! Was looking forward for a nice Monday bowling with the family. We waited in line to get our shoes and lane. As we're entering our names we realized we forgot to inform the front that we needed bumpers for one of our bowler. Once in line again I find out that our lane had broken bumpers and we could not put them up for my 4 year old niece. We adjust and stay in the lane. As I approach the bar to order a couple of shot's I get charged for 4 shots as the bartender pour the remaining shots for herself. As one bartender asked the other what the extra shots were I also asked if I was getting charged for the extra shots she had pour. I did not leave a tip and they rudely let me know how nice of me not tipping them. First, if you do not know how to measure drinks correctly and there is still left overs the common sense is to wait as the customer has walks away . Secondly if I did not like the service I should not have to be obligated to tip. My brother in law also got a pitcher and paid with a card gave her cash tip and also was told about the tip. I used to love going to this place but the staff makes me feel very uncomfortable and sometimes they can come off as rude. Every time I feel intimidated by the environment. I love bowling and I used to love coming here all the time but every time I tried coming it would be really full or I would have to wait for lanes to be empty again which I clearly didn't have time for. I get that it is busy on the weekends but it is disappointing there are no other good alleys in the area to go to. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Came in on a Saturday night with 5 other friends after dinner to drink/bowl. My first impression of the place was that it was fairly bigger inside than outside. Walked up to the bar to grab drinks and the bartender (older woman with long dark/red hair) starts to ID us. Of course all of us show our ID's to her, & my boyfriend, (who was 29 at the time) is from Indiana but lives in Illinois currently, shows her his ID and she denies to serve him. He showed her ANOTHER form of identification and she still wouldn't serve him. She had the ugliest attitude with all of us, and I wouldn't write this review had she been a little kinder to us. This place is huge with its 84 lanes of bowling. this place is also very old as it has been open for 50 years. From looking at its current decor I think it received it's last face lift in 1978. Although the place has dated itself it is in good repair. I did say this place was huge right? It is nearly a full city block long. I was pleased that they had three bars strategically placed along the length of the building so a cold brew is only a few steps away! Plus they have your typical pro shop and snack shop too. For shoes, three games of bowling, nachos, and four Heinekens. It put me back about $38. Although my beers cost more than the shoes and bowling combined Our lanes were in top working order, the staff was friendly and a good time was had by all. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews for this place. Yes this is an 84 lane SuperBowlingAlley. Yes it has 3 bars, even though they advertise 2.75 PBRs and Millers. Yes it is huge. This was the host for the Illinois Special Olympic Bowling Finale today, the 18th. I was there in the morning (while there was still dew on the grass) and they were ready. They had the staff there ready to handle many different people's capabilities. There were numerous calls for the staff to fish the stalled gutterballs and the staff were more than happy to help them out. I didn't see any of the staff cursing under their breath, or taking the slow walk. No, they were fast and efficient. So for the staff at the Stardust, five big stars. The actual alley gets five stars as well. They have a large parking lot across the street, snack shops scattered throughout and many house balls. Solid establishment, worth the five stars. read more

I love this place. It's huge compared to most Bowling alleys. It's so big that back in the day when people could still smoke cigarettes, you can still bowl and not smell like smoke. They have pretty cheap drink/beer specials. All you can bowl days are cool since you can pretty much bowl until your arm falls off. Lanes are pretty nice. Staff is friendly. Yes, the scoring monitors are a little dated, but who cares. As long as it keeps score, I could care less. It's just a minor detail in what is a really nice place to get your game and drink on without having to wait for an alley. read more

Place itself is kinda old/run down but it's not too bad but the service is terrible. Old lady at the bar was super rude and when I handed her my ID she kept bending it and putting up to the light and then to my face thinking it was not real or mine and was not going to accept it until I showed her my military ID which was my only other ID I had on me. After she finally sold me my beer I did not even want to go back up to the bar because I did not wanna deal with her unpleasantness. Definitely will not be coming back anytime soon read more
