Wife and I stopped in for some daytime bowling on a Friday afternoon. Staff was great and keeps everyone spaced out when possible. Lanes were in nice shape and all the gear worked fine. Ball return and pinsetter were flawless. Nice, friendly group of regulars were bowling on this day and the atmosphere was convivial. The nice gal behind the counter gave us a printout of our score when we asked! We bowled 16 games between the 2 of us and will definitely come back when were in AH. read more

Have not been bowling for sometime , and decided to go on Christmas Eve early afternoon. Not much has changed over the last several years, it is still family owned, reasonably priced and busy. Beverly has been around for over 60 years! They are very reasonably priced and have a bar and also food. It was pretty busy, but we were able to secure a lane. Definitely a no frills bowling alley that will take you back to the 80's with their outdated systems and overly oiled floors. No beers on draft, but a bottle of Miller Lite was only $3.75. One game of bowling and shoe rental only cost me $6.50. If you're bowling with a group, look into the $16/hr rental to save some cash. Came on a Sunday afternoon for open bowl and it was quite packed but we were able to find a lane for our party of five. It felt like a bowling alley straight out of the 1980s but we loved it! I have been bowling in leagues here continuously over the last 10 years. The staff is super friendly and the prices are really reasonable at this neighborhood bowling alley. It is not a Brunswick Zone, so if you are expecting that level of amenities, you won't find them here. That said, it has everything I think you need to have a fun night out bowling. read more

Lyle said negative things about Les via phone to me several times. Unprofessional. 2) No one ever called when my grandfather missed payment--after decades supporting that business no one could be bothered to pick up the phone and call him or even another member of the family who bowls there? 3) the lying is what disgusts my family most-- after Roxanne told me and my mother she didn't know anything about what happened to his things, she told my cousin that they took his stuff when he missed payment. That means they took his expensive custom (and engraved) balls, his shoes, and his bags along with shoes all the sentimental things he kept in there that my family can never get back. Beverly Lanes is a old fashioned, friendly, bowling center hidden in Arlington Heights very focused on the sport of bowling. Their bowling lane and equipment conditions are great as reflected by certified leagues, sport shot leagues, hosting several high school teams, and hosting regional PBA50 events. They often have both conventional oil patterns and sport patterns available for league pre-bowling and walk-ins. (This all reflects that this is a family run operation owned by the Zikes family - Les Zikes is a PBA Hall of Famer.) This is a 24 lane no-frills center. Food comes from the bar area and is basically limited to pizzas but unlike most centers they allow bowlers to bring in birthday cakes, food and snacks. They have some basic bowler supplies and ball services but no fancy separate pro shop. This all allows them to offer some of the most reasonable prices for both walk-in and league bowlers. I'm giving this no-frills bowling alley a 5-star rating for a few reasons. 1. I've been going here since I was a child, so it gets points for nostalgia. 2. The prices are so reasonable. For 2 hours of bowling, plus three shoe rentals, it was less than $35. Much different from somewhere like PinStripes or Lucky Strike. 3. The lanes are smooth, clean, and work like a charm. 4. There are about 24 lanes, but they have a lot of leagues (so call before you go in to make sure they'll have space). The last time we went we got in right away (9PM on a Friday) and played until 11PM. It was awesome. 5. They have party rooms for birthday parties/etc., and have a bar for those who aren't as interested in the game of ten-pin. It's no frills as in none of this cosmic bowling business, but since I'm not in high school anymore, I prefer to be able to see while I'm bowling instead of guessing which lane is mine. It's also probably not been updated since the 80s, or the 70s, but I don't care. I love that kind of stuff. Come here. Go bowling. Enjoy yourselves. read more

Great service and personal touches- Not something you see these days but very much appreciate. It's got a bit of an old school vibe but that's what I love. This place has everything you could want out of a bowling alley and then some because of it being a family business. A group of friends and I went a couple nights ago for some fun Saturday night. There was one other group there when we arrived (After 9 pm) and the two guys at the front were so nice. I have my own ball and shoes so I didn't have to worry about additional cost but the cost is reasonable. Their bar is pretty extensive and the girl running it knew her stuff and was very polite and fun. I was with mostly girls so they were being quite obnoxious and especially since they were using the digital jukebox that is available. At the end of the night, we were still going and when our lane shut down, the guys up front gave us another 20-30 minutes passed out time/close "on the house." Maybe because 5 people and about 4 rounds of drinks and jukebox playing allowed it but just having that hospitality and kindness really hits you and makes you want to come back again and again. read more

I came here this past summer with a group of friends on a Friday night. There was a special deal at the time, which was $1/game on Fridays. Shoes were $2.50. I believe the prices have gone up. You can check those on their website. The league had not started yet so it was pretty empty at the time. The bowling alley was very clean. The two men working there were very friendly and helpful. One of the men makes artwork using bowling pins. The signs on the bathrooms are made of bowling pins and are his creations. I appreciated that it was wheelchair accessible. They had a ramp so that I could go up on the lanes. They also had a bowling ramp that I used to bowl. The bowling ramp was wobbly and could use some screw tightening, but the staff were all friendly and were happy accommodate my access needs. Overall, a very nice place to go bowling. read more

Family owned bowling alley without all the crazy noisy baloney you get at Brunswick Zone. Very affordable family type fun! $14 a lane for one hour for up to 5 bowlers. Shoes were $2.50 a pair. They have bumpers for the kids-the 4 year old we brought with us had a great time. Overall ok place, outdated but can still have a good time bowling. The issue came when we wanted to continue bowling with another game and were told we couldn't because the league two lanes over needed the lane. Wanted to give a small business some money but since they value school leagues over new customers I guess we'll just wait for Bowlero to open back up. read more

Definitely a no frills bowling alley which is exactly what we were looking for. We came here with our 6 month old baby and a group of 4 adults. It was perfect. Low-key, no loud music, family friendly... we all loved it. Priced well below the Brunswick's (or what is it called now- Bowlero?!). Staff was also very friendly! It's a decent bowling alley nothing fancy. Our screens turn off a few times and our lanes got stuck a few times as well. Made our game super long. They have bumpers for the kids and an assisting rack to help bow. Their lightest weight ball is 7 pounds. read more

This place is just great! I threw my boyfriend an adult children's themed birthday party here and it was perfect. I had a bunch of obnoxiously drunk & loud singing friends at the party and everyone that worked there was so accommodating and thought the group was quite entertaining. The bowling was so inexpensive compared to the other name brand bowling places out there. The bar was also priced well and they had a lot of drinks/beer options available. Like bowling in a non-crowded disco light and fog machine free venue? Beverly Lanes may be for you. When we got there at around 10 30 pm on a Saturday night the place had three other people. By the time we were done it was just us, which allowed me to victory dances without feeling ashamed (not that I would feel ashamed anyway). The lanes were in good shape and my pair of shoes looked practically new. My only complaint is that they closed at midnight, but oh well I was starting to sober up anyway. read more

Overall, I have had very good experiences at Beverly Lanes. The prices are fair and the staff have always been helpful and cheerful. Unfortunately today (03-24-16) there was a very rude, impolite woman in her 50's working the front counter. She made us feel as though we were interrupting her.
