We returned here with the kiddos and their parents to enjoy Pinstripes' weekend brunch buffet with Santa. It was a most fun, comfortable, enjoyable, festive, and delicious outing. The plentiful and delicious brunch buffet goes for a very reasonable $35 per adult, $15 for kids 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under. Throw in a photo session with Santa and Mrs Claus and it's a fun holiday deal that can't be beat. This particular Santa was the most fun and gregarious Santa I have ever encountered also. After the photos, he spent some quality chat time with the kids he encountered. The food and food layout and seating layout here were great and it's a much better setup here than at the overly spread out Oakbrook location. I particularly enjoyed their prime rib, smoked salmon, and waffles with home-made whipped cream. Our server was prompt and attentive despite how busy it was. FYI - Pinstripes had some financial difficulty and was recently bought out by an outfit called Punch Bowl Social. The food was fine. I wasn't expecting anything crazy. Servers were understaffed and it felt like we had to chase them a little but it was manageable. My sister had received a gift card here as a gift from her coworkers for her birthday, so we were in no hurry. My main issue is that their payment system was down, so they had to manually process my payment. I ended up getting overcharged and paying an extra $50. So I provided my information to them so management could call me back and they could process a refund. Surprise surprise, they never called me back. Thanks. read more

I always love coming to Pinstripes, especially during the holiday season when they decorate so beautifully. After seeing the national news, I came to realize that many Pinstripes' locations have closed, but fortunately this one was purchased by a different owner to keep it going. At the host desk, where you check in to get a table, I've always asked for their vegan menu. This time, however, they told me they no longer have one which was disappointing. (Later, I found one on their website.) I ordered their whipped hummus appetizer which comes with some veggies and crostini. It's also one of their happy hour specials so it was a great price! For dinner, I ordered their super salad which was an incredible blend of veggies, figs, raspberries, etc. The service was excellent; our server was very friendly and attentive. The one thing that I would highly recommend that this location do immediately, is clean the walls next to the booth. And if they can't be cleaned, they should be repainted. To begin, I must preface this and say it is Mother's Day. The busiest day in the restaurant business. And my family comes to Pinstripes Mother's Day Brunch every year. And now... Our service was terrible. Server did not check on us, was late bringing out water and silverware. He was loud, abrasive, and inattentive. Appeared to avoid making eye contact with the table. Said words like Huh, Wha, and did not act professional at all. On at least 3 separate occasions there were no plates available at the buffet. The first time we went to the buffet, we waited so long for plates that when we returned to our table, it had been cleared. Our food, drinks, my wife's gift from our daughter...all removed from our table(see photo of the bag they returned the gift in). And the explanation given to us was we were gone over 10 minutes. Well, had there been plates at the buffet we wouldn't have been gone that long. I did share my concerns with the GM. And sadly, he didn't even say I'm Sorry. Poor customer service. Lastly the food...Many empty steam strays, bacon sitting in grease, waffles that we could not bite thru. Ran out of coffee creamer before noon! Just completely unprepared for today. In summary, I have brought my wife and daughter here every year for Mother's Day for many years. We have always loved the time here. However, Pinstripes was not prepared today. This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. The price was almost $150 for the 3 of us. I do not mind spending good money for good experiences. This review is purely for a carry out experience. I couldn't get the order to go through on my phone, couldn't get it to process through on my laptop. Then I ended up calling which was OK enough. Note that if you have to call over the phone they do not let you set a future pickup time, it just becomes an ASAP order. We ordered a selection of flatbreads - the lobster, margherita, and the veggie. The flatbreads were not especially large and were OK. Came in a nice thick box that was easy to carry out the 3 of them. Not a lot of sauce on the margherita, but I think that's how the flatbreads are supposed to be. My daughter and her friends wanted to spend a nice night bowling tonight. After my daughter got home, she informed me that the staff ran her payment 3 times and told her the first two did not go through. She then showed the staff at the desk that the transactions went through and asked for them to remove the extra transactions. They looked at each other and said "No, she's just a kid, what is she going to do?" I then talked to the manager and brought this up - she said that kids shouldn't be responsible for paying for services, and she didn't have a problem with what her staff said. I'd highly recommend avoiding this location, as both staff and management appear to prey on children without remorse when given an opportunity to discuss their actions. Went here for an Easter brunch and had a fine experience. I had previously gone to the South Barrington location for a brunch, so I already knew what to expect. That is, a nice buffet with above average presentation and a wide variety of different food options to satisfy all needs. Given the spacious layout of Pinstripes, it's pretty easy to wander around the different stations to get food without feeling too cramped. Even when the dining room was completely full, our server Sargoon was able to quickly refill drinks, clear plates, and checkup on us from time to time. Throughout the meal, there were also other staff who periodically helped to clear the plates as well, so that finished dishes weren't sitting around for too long. The food itself is fairly good for brunch food. In particular, freshly baked/griddled items such as waffles, biscuits, pizza, etc. really shined and were noticeably better than most buffets. The quality of ingredients was also quite evident in the sausage, smoked salmon, salads, fruit cups, etc. that all tasted quite fresh. The prime rib here is pretty good, though not as good as steakhouses that offer a brunch option. With that said, the entrees overall are better than most brunch places I've been too -- with items such as the pastas, grilled veggies, and brussell sprouts standing out as delicious savory items. The dessert table is quite a site to behold, though I found the actual sweets to only be okay. I've had better elsewhere, but the different options to go with the chocolate fountain definitely make for a fun experience. Overall, worth a stop if you want to enjoy a delicious brunch. I've been to Pinstripes many times over the years and it's a fun place to have some food and drinks, and get in a frame or two of bowling! Service is good and the drinks and food are all good. They have many specials over the week so check out the website for the special that speaks to you!! My only complaint is that you can dine and bowl at the same time. Why is that a problem? Because a few times I was with a group waiting for a lane to open, when all of a sudden a huge tray of food arrives and all bowling ceases while the food is consumed! I attended a special celebration at this location on a Saturday in mid October - a bar mitzvah. We were situated in the far right banquet/party room with access to the outdoor fire pit, etc. the party had 100+ kids plus adults so it was very crowded. The layout was really nice and all of the service people that we ran into were very friendly and helpful, especially the one serving food and beverages. The kids were served an appetizer buffet with cheese, curds, mini cheeseburgers, and other items for their main meal. I think they also had chicken tenders and some other items which I couldn't see clearly. The adults were served family style, which was garlic bread, ravioli, salmon, and Caesar salad. I thought the adult food overall tasted really good. And there was plenty of food for everybody at the table. My only qualm is the soft drinks, Pepsi, didn't taste like it had enough carbonation or was cold enough. Overall, we had a really good time there there's plenty of parking out front. This is my first time at Pinstripes - I've heard many good things about their weekend brunch which I'll have to try one day. I was surprised to see how fairly busy they were for a weekday lunch. Tuesdays is Two-Fer Tuesdays where you can buy one item and get a second same item for free. We chose the baby back ribs and substituted the parmesan fries for truffle fries. The ribs were fall of the bone and full of flavor, however we questioned if we actually received a full slab as the portion seemed small. The truffle fries were a bit over seasoned with pepper and took away from the truffle flavor. Our server was wonderful though and she made sure were had everything we needed. While we came for dinner a bit early the dinner rush hour filled up fast and kept the servers on their toes. Been to a few different Pinstripes locations but never this one. Met some friends on a Monday night. They have a Happy Hour in the bar Mon-Fri from 3-6 with limited small table seating. Since we're were having dinner,we sat in their Bistro area. They also have a huge outdoor patio with outdoor seating as well. It was fairly crowded mainly because of their Monday unlimited Chopped Salad and Spaghetti and Meatballs special for 12.00. Needless to say,we all took advantage of this special. My wife is Gluten Free so they made her salad and pasta gluten free with an upcharge of only 2.00. The Signature Chopped Salad is the real deal..grape tomatoes,roasted corn,kalamata olives,gorgonzola,burrata,cannelloni beans ,dates and crispy noodles. Delicious! The spaghetti was with a flavorful marinara sauce with beef meatballs. You can add a meat sauce for 2.00 extra. The food was delicious,our server Emma was fantastic and we were not rushed at all. My family went to Pinstripes for brunch on Easter weekend. Brunch is served buffet style. They have a huge selection to choose from. They offer an omelette station, ham and roast beef station, waffle and donut hole station, eggs, bacon, sausage, vegetarian and breakfast pizza, and many more items to choose from. Some of my favorites were the waffles, donut holes, and biscuits and gravy. The waffles were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The biscuits were moist and flaky and the sausage gravy was a perfect compliment. Don't forget to visit the dessert table featuring a chocolate fountain, cookies, strawberries, rice krispies, marshmallows, and more. Since it was Easter weekend, we got to take our picture with the Easter bunny. Since it was Easter weekend the brunch buffet cost more but I didn't see anything additional on the buffet to justify the price increase. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. From start to finish, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. We arrived 15 minutes early for our scheduled bowling time, only to be told to wait. Fine, we were patient. But then 10 minutes past our scheduled time, we were finally told where to go--without a single bit of instruction on how to set up the lanes or anything else. They mentioned a waiter would come by, but it took 20 minutes for anyone to show up. And once the waiter arrived, he was almost never available. The screens at the lanes were flashy but super confusing to use, and there was no help in sight. The bathrooms? Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't send my worst enemy in there. It's clear they haven't been cleaned properly in who knows how long. Accessibility is another glaring issue. This place has no button or automatic door for wheelchair users, which is an unacceptable oversight. If someone with mobility challenges wants to get in, they have to rely on someone else to hold the door for them. It's 2025--how does a business like this not have something as basic as this? Then it was time for us to head to the restaurant, which only made things worse. The waiter ignored us repeatedly, even though it was obvious we needed assistance. Worst service EVER. Once seated, we waited over 30 minutes for food, and when it finally arrived, no proper utensils were given. Water? Forget it. I had to physically go to the water station where the waiters were supposed to be getting water and grab it myself--three times. We noticed other tables who arrived after us got their food long before we did. When our food finally came, we asked them to slice a cake we'd brought, and instead, they brought it to us whole and never refrigerated it, despite our specific request. The waitress was completely MIA the entire time. We had to hunt her down multiple times, and eventually, we gave up. We ended up getting our own silverware, water, and anything else we needed. The staff situation is baffling. There were so many people working--especially at the front desk--but none of them seemed willing to actually help. Even during bowling, there were no waiters around, despite four employees standing around at the desk. To top it all off, multiple times during dinner, staff tried to clear our plates while we were still eating. I literally had to stop them and say, "My food isn't finished yet." But when plates were empty, they sat on the table for another 30 minutes before anyone bothered to clean them up. I provided dietary restriction information ahead of time, and even that was eventually ignored. This place has so much potential, but it's clear they either don't know how to train their staff, or they have no idea how to manage or staff the place properly. It was just a hot mess from beginning to end. I'd much rather go to a traditional bowling alley and then head somewhere decent for dinner. **DON'T BOOK YOUR EVENT HERE^**This was my first time here for my cousin's wedding. Not only was the service horrible for the wedding reception dinner- but regular customer service was absolutely terrible! Aside from the lack of attention to detail during the dinner reception- which left dirty plates on the table and never served wedding cake- which sat in the back- they never served and "couldn't find" the next morning. (I think the manager is "still looking for it ). Move to the next morning- my cousin paid for a private room and brunch for 35 people- the private room was only set for 25- which meant 10 of us had to sit in a section outside (not a big issues). However- we sat there for 40 minutes, waiting for acknowledgment from the server to provide us with silverware, water, or coffee. And yet no one came to our tables. At which .3 of us had to approach the manager three separate times to request some sort of attention to our section. At which point- I ordered (and paid for) bottomless mimosas at 11:40 AM. The server made it a point to say was bottomless mimosas for two hours. I acknowledge. At 1 PM I ordered another picture and he came back with two glasses and stated it was last call. I informed him that we ordered the mimosas at 11:40 AM which they came back 10 minutes later however we will honor that timeline which meant we had until 1:40 PM. He walked away and didn't acknowledge me at all. I found the manager explains the situation and he said OK we're working on it. At 1:36 I recvd a pitcher full of orange juice! Went to a wedding here. There was GUM in my salad! Some things I understand- a hair falling into your food-- that is an accident, the waiter may be shedding and not realize it or something. But GUM? How does that HAPPEN?! You cannot ACCIDENTALLY drop GUM into somebody's food. Someone must've spat it out into the food. Like on purpose. The most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I told the manager and brought him the plate and he said nobody is allowed to chew gum on his line so he would investigate. I never heard what came of it. But wow. And I didn't realize what it was originally and thought since it was kinda rolled in the cheese and dressing that it was some kind of cheese at first until the cheese came off of it and it was orange and rubbery and I figured out what it was. The manager picked around at it with his knife and asked if there was anything he could do for me while he investigated. I wasn't sure what I could ask for. A new salad? We had a 1:15 reservation and were told brunch ends at 2:00, which meant we only had 45 minutes to eat, while earlier guests get around an hour and a half for the same price. Although I have been to Pinstripes many times in various locations over the years we chose to meet our friends at this Northbrook one. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but just about every table was soon filled. The room is large so there is plenty of room between tables. Most come on Monday night for the chopped salad and spaghetti and meatballs with unlimited refills and we did too. The chopped salad is the star because it is really flavorful. Both items can be made gluten free for $2 extra. Our server was pleasant, accommodating and we weren't rushed. The pasta isn't anything special but fills you up. Despite living in Northbrook for five years, my husband and I hadn't been to Pinstripes together. I think we'd each been here for separate events and I met a friend for happy hour drinks and appetizers, but today we decided to venture out for an afternoon of bowling and food. We made a reservation online before going. While my husband was in the process of making the reservation, the time he had selected was scooped out from under him. That's frustrating - there should be at least some hold time to finish the transaction, especially because he was trying to answer the question about dietary restrictions. He started over and got a reservation at a similar time. Checking in was a little confusing. It appeared that at least one of the staff members was training, which is great, but she asked us how long we planned to bowl and several other questions that should have been on the reservation. It wasn't a major issue - just confusing to go through the process online and then essentially be asked to repeat it when we showed up. We settled into our lane after getting our shoes. Getting the game started was easy peasy. Our server came over right away and got our drink orders and was back soon enough to ask about food. I had the Pinstripes Pilsner, which is brewed by Moody Tongue (a Michelin-rated brewery/restaurant in Chicago). We split a margherita flatbread. It was the perfect size for a mid-afternoon snack and was really tasty - the sauce was flavorful and the basil on top was fresh. Overall, a fun afternoon outing for us. It's not an inexpensive venture, especially when you start tacking on beers and food, but it was nice for something different on a winter weekend afternoon. We came in on a Friday night and was able to be seated in the restaurant pretty quickly. We started off our meal sharing a chicken avocado club and the prosciutto fig flatbread. Both of which were delicious. The chicken avocado club literally tastes like the sandwich in flatbread form. The prosciutto fig was a great combination of salty and sweet - probably my favorite! I had the chicken and goat cheese pasta with Calabrese sauce to add a little kick. I loved the creaminess of the pasta from the goat cheese and the flavors from the sauces. But also not pictured is the pitch of peach sangria. The peach sangria was the perfect summer drink to share with a group. All in all we had a pleasant experience, the only thing that was lacking was the service. Our server was quite busy so we understand, but it was hard to get refills on water. This is a nice enough place to bowl. My son and I have been going here for a long time every Saturday and really enjoyied ourselves. We have been paying $30 for an hour of bowling and we get some food, too. Not the cheapest price for bowling or food, but it's a popular place. Today we showed up and they've raised their price to $80 -- for one hour on a lane! They raised their price 167%! That's just ridiculous. As far as I can tell, I don't think tariffs effect the price of bowling. I'm all for capitalism, so they can charge what they want, but the nice thing about capitalism is that we don't have to patronize them any longer. Pinstripes is a nice place to host a rehearsal dinner, bar mitzvah, or 80th birthday party as shown on the chalkboard listing all the group events when you come in the door. Having come to many of the above over the years, I can attest to the fun of bocci and bowling while eating their appetizers and small bites. The bistro for dinner, however, is consistently lacking in excellent food. And prices are ridiculous for food that tries too hard to be fine dining and instead ends up being screwed-up. Last weekend we came for an early dinner with a reservation. The young hostesses and waiter were extremely pleasant and considerate, but a bit flighty. We were given a nice booth, and the bistro is attractive, but tables are not at all private or romantic. My family and I started with a shared tuna flatbread as an appetizer which had ceviche-style fish that was mediocre; the marinade "cooked" the protein to the point that it ruined what could have been more delicate and delicious if left sushi-grade. Consensus was "meh!" Next we had baby back ribs and pasta dishes. We had to ask for bread twice before a server finally showed up with some pesto and a tiny basket. I shared the full rack of ribs with my wife and was quite unimpressed. They were obviously pre-baked earlier in the day then grilled, rendering them shrunken, slightly dry and not quite as good as Chili's. They were topped with some kind of weird balsamic barbecue sauce blend that made us wonder "why can't they just leave well-enough alone?" Accompanying french fries were similarly average. Pastas were "okay" according to others at the table. Portion sizes were average and not really enough to take home. We did pass on dessert because we were all full, however. Had the bill been on par with Chili's or Olive Garden, more consistent with the quality of food they produced, I would have less to complain about.
