Surprising! From the front, its difficult to tell how very nice and big it is inside! It's located across from the Sonic in Farmersville. Everything was great and a good value. I really wanted to make this my new go-to for fajitas and margs, but the inconsistency is a major issue. Our first visit on a Saturday night was outstanding in every way. However, we returned a week later on a weeknight and the food was inedible. It feels like a totally different restaurant depending on which chef is working. Best in town for Tex mex and the el SALVADORIAN dishes are amazing . You would drive by this place and never be inclined to stop . But as fortune has it after being disappointed with jalepenos in town I decided to give this place a try . I have not been back to the other place in years . Rivera's is that good . You can choose between traditional Tex mex dishes or authentic el salvadorian dishes . The people are always friendly , the restaurant and bathrooms are always clean . They have multiple locations . Please don't let the outside fool you! what is being served inside is sure to send your taste buds to heaven. Growing up in New Mexico I know what good food is ! At first bite I got chills from the taste transporting me back in time as a little boy and grandma making me her food ! I got the enchilada dinner the chili con carne is pure gold. My husband got the fajita combo meats. The steak on his was so tender and jammed packed full of flavor. Also ordered a chicken pupusa delicious! Second time here. (Didn't get pictures of food the first time) I had gotten a cup of chicken tortillas soup and Pupusas, my daughter got a steak quesadilla and my husband an enchilada plate. No complaints from anyone. The second time the husband and I shared a fajita for two and a queso with ground beef. We had enough left over for me to take for lunch. Both experiences were great, food was good, service was good. Very attentive and friendly waitstaff. We will definitely be regulars. read more

Omg! You could drive right past this restaurant. Very much a hole in the wall. Not pretty on the outside or the inside. Staff is very friendly and they do clean very well. The food! With chips we got a very tasty salsa and we were offered large or small guacamole or queso. We got both. The guacamole is delicious, perfect chunky to smooth ratio. The queso is seasoned just right and very creamy and smooth. This was a Saturday and the special was Carne Asada. I ordered the special and the wife ordered a quesadilla with beef. I was asked how I wanted my Carne Asada cooked and chose medium. Both meals came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. Will be returning to try the margarita soon. Recently found this place since we moved near here in January. Been 3 times. Delicious food at great prices. Not fancy or beautiful on the outside, but authentic food made by authentic friendly people. We usually go midday since kinda busy at night and limited seating. Fajitas are the Best! read more

We were introduced to Rivera's when visiting our friends this week. I cannot say enough good things about our experience! The guac, queso, salsa, and chips were soooo good. We had chimichangas, chili rellenos, and two new dishes (look for the red stars on the menu). This is no doubt the best meal, scratch made, full of flavor, so many options for sauces, just a delight in every bite!!! Rivera's is a local gem!!! Pupusas were not good didn't even use the right stuff to make it .....tasted more like a Gordita ....as a Salvadorian those fake pupusas were trash . Now the tacos meat tasted like it was reheated meat from previous day old meat cook back in a bit of oil gross not good food and this was right when they open at 11 am nothing was fresh . A delightful surprise in Farmersville,TX. Extensive menu with a unique twist. Hubby loved his beef fajitas and I was quite daring to try their take on Jambalaya which was delicious and very unexpected. Our waitress was very attentive. They have completed a rustic rehab and transformed what was previously a dumpy place into a much brighter charming restaurant. I can't wait to try some of their other menu items. Prices are very reasonable which is a huge plus. I expect them to give Frankie's in Wylie some real competition. read more

love this place found it after getting bad service at another restaurant in town . doesn't look like much on the outside but inside is clean and what you would except from any nice small family restaurant chain . food is good , people are nice , atmosphere is comfortable, you can watch a game and have a great margaritas. if your in Farmersville and haven't went to Rivera's you should stop in like I did . it's better than the other places for Tex mex style in the area . five stars ! read more
