Mexican Omelet with seasoned potatoes and refried beans. Great breakfast.

Passing through on the way home, and ordered takeout for breakfast. This is a family owned establishment, and all is house made. Our order was ready when promised, and included a large serving of chips and salsa (no charge). He had the Mexican omelet and said the chorizo was high quality - he enjoyed it with the potatoes and bean and house made corn tortillas. I had the cheese enchilada plate, which included 2 cheeses and topped with excellent chili con carne. It came with refried beans and rice, enough for a 2nd meal for me. Will order again when passing through.

Most orders I do around Wylie are for to go, I'm purchasing for my elderly, mobility impaired parents. So I look at things that would make their dining experience easier. Well the women's restroom may have bars but they have a changing table preventing the door from opening fully and allowing wheelchair access. The food . My Dad nor I was impressed by the beans. My dad had the tacos Al carbon chicken, he didn't care for the flavor. My mom and I split the flautas, chicken . They were ok. They give a good amount of food, enough to share. The service was a little slow, the person that took my order also manned the phone and was training a waitress. Once my order was in , the food was ready quickly.

    Lunch special minus the beans.

I come here whenever I'm in town. Family owned; Their food is homemade, including the tortillas, corn and flour. It's always consistent. The homemade Queso is addicting.

They reopened today!!! I would definitely wait at least a few weeks before trying them out again. We waited almost an hour for our food. ( 2 people) we Had to get our own refills, asked for chips twice before we ever got any. Our waitress never asked how our food was. My pancakes were almost burnt. We had to move tables because the air conditioner was dripping on us and our table. I'm being generous with 3 stars because the rest of the staff was friendly.

La Joya is delicious Mexican restaurant with a gringo spelling! Honestly the service was great and the salsa is excellent, which is a failing of many Mexican restaurants. The table made guacamole was nice sized, it was the same price I pay at a different place for half the guac. It's in the downtown area of Wylie which is very nice, I was impressed with the gentrified downtown area. I waited too long to do this review because I can't remember what entree I ate but I know it was good, so I'm on my way back to this place to give a proper review!

This was my first time ordering from this place. Food was outstanding! Definitely exceeded my expectations. Everything was flavored perfectly, right down to the salsa. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Note: I ordered a cup chicken tortilla soup. Not sure if they messed up but the soup was huge. I love the huge portions and tortilla soup is one of my favorites so that's a bonus.

My wife and I have been eating at El Rodeo now for the past year or so. We've been there for our…read morefive times over that time period. The food has been consistently hot and fresh, of good quality overall and tasty! My wife's go to meal has been the Tacos al Carbon, which she really enjoys. The portion size has always been adequate. I've had the El Combo Plate, the El Lopez, a mixed Enchilada Plate, and Birria Tacos. I've also enjoyed everything I've eaten at El Rodeo. Recently, we opted to return to our previous go to Tex Mex restaurant (El Fenix), because of the price increases at El Rodeo. Probably the biggest advantage El Rodeo has over El Fenix is menus choices. El Rodeo's menu is more extensive. However, El Fenix has a full bar and better atmosphere. Whereas, El Rodeo does have somewhat of hole in the wall ambiance, with much simpler furnishings. As far as overall food quality, my wife and I both agree that El Fenix has the edge over El Rodeo. Interestingly, both restaurants have almost the exact same salsa recipe. Both taste fresh, but both are also fairly watery, which, for me, is a fail. I prefer a salsa with I guess more of a tomato base. I mean, I still eat the salsa at El Rodeo, but it's definitely not the star of the meal! The chips at El Rodeo are better than those at El Fenix. (I did not intend for this to be a comparison to El Fenix, it just worked out that way, because I'm a little delayed on submitting this updated review on El Rodeo.) I do very much appreciate the large drink mugs at El Rodeo. I've would have to literally chug one's drink throughout the meal to even need a single refill. The mugs are HUGE! So, we'll be back to El Rodeo despite the pricing increases, but probably not as frequently as we would like. Times are tough and value shopping, even for dine out spots, is paramount! If you try El Rodeo you won't be disappointed, so do give it a try! Eat well, Be well. Cheers!
