Giving it 3 stars only due to VERY poor customer service. The baked goods are amazing!! Really good quality!! I the issue with the poor service is really hard to overlook. I should also add that I am frequent customer so this review is not just based off what could have been one "bad day". I happened upon this spot for a quick "make it through the afternoon" sweet and was surprised to find they make sandwiches too. The chicken salad sandwich which is typically served on a croissant, sounded really good. The lady recommended I get it on a fresh baked baguette, and who was I to tell he how to do her job? Stopped by this bakery for brunch and didn't have the best experience. The food was pretty good (really liked the chicken salad croissant sandwich) but the service was very disorganized and inconsistent. There was a huge hassle to pay for my one friend's meal because they didn't accept cash--when we asked why their only explanation was that it was Sunday and therefore they did not have enough change. However, we then had to try three different cards because their register wouldn't work. They forgot one of our friend's coffees and also took a while to bring out a quiche that we ordered. I went to this bakery for the first time and They had Awesome pastries and great coffee. I went there with my family and had a great time I got a fresh fruit crepe with honey and it was delicious. Stopped by the bakery this morning after a coffee run (I should have waited because their coffee menu looks great). It's walking distance from many of the hotels on the Riverfront in Wilmington. This area is growing and has great shops and dining. We purchased cinnamon rolls, quiche, and the croissant donuts (filled with strawberry cream cheese filling). They were all amazing! I've been twice and each time was not impressed. The service was lackluster: the teenaged cashier didn't greet us or acknowledge us. We asked if there was soy milk; she said "no." I asked if there was any non-dairy option and she said "yes." I felt like I was pulling answers out of her. The other person I was with asked what flavors they had for lattes and she said "just the normal one." Limited menus don't bother me; it's perfectly understandable that a local business doesn't have every option, but the cashier was rude and looked like she was trying not to laugh the whole time. I ordered a hot chocolate with non-dairy milk and received what I'm guessing was an Americana. It wasn't even worth it to ask for the correct order. I want to support local, but this is a tough sell with a much friendlier Starbucks on the same block. read more

This place is amazing! Bittersweet that I don't live in the area, but I will surely stop by whenever I'm passing through. Margo and Julia were both, so kind and professional and the rest of the staff who's names I didn't get, were genuinely kind as well. I was looking for something that was hearty for breakfast, but not too heavy, for I wanted to get in a workout. I had the Chicken quiche the first day and the Salmon quiche the next and not only were they delicious and the filling perfectly cooked, the crust was as flaky as you can get. I was bursting with energy after having had it and when I went to the gym a few hours later, I felt as if I could go all day! This place is a hidden gem in Wilmington and you will not be disappointed if you go. I was half tempted to pull a move from the movie Last Holiday, where Queen Latifahs character ordered one of everything on the menu, for everything in there looked like baked perfection. I was excited to try this new cafe. It seemed clean, as expected for being new. The coffee and the chai pumpkin spice croissant donut was tasty. I gave it a 2 because we also ordered 2 large draft lattes. Draft lattes are traditionally served with no ice; nevertheless I had to ask for it without ice. The blond cashier then told the dark-haired girl to "only fill it up this much," gesturing about 2/3 up. When I told the cashier how off-putting this was to me as a customer, she said it's what the manager, Jeff, told her to do. I'm writing this to let you know that, if you don't want ice in your draft latte, and you're willing to pay $5.50 for it when Starbucks is next door, just go into it knowing you'll only be given 2/3 of a cup. read more
