I have been in love with Maisonry in Yountville for years now...i'm not an "artsy kinda gal" but there is something about Maisonry that I have fallen in love with. I was recently introduced to RiverHouse by Bespoke collection. Curated by the same folks as Maisonry. Maisonry was recently sold to Restoration Hardware...the art is still here...but not all the wines. RiverHouse is now the home of Blackbird Wines..some of the best wine I have ever had! We came here on a rainy afternoon...so we had the attention of every person in the room! Karen and Kelli gave us a fabulous tour around the collection. Many of the pieces I was familiar with from Maisonry. They brought us a taste of wine to enjoy while we walked. We opted to stay a bit longer for a full tasting. RiverHouse by Bespoke Collection a wonderful tasting room along the Napa River with some unique & eclectic art pieces from statues to comic paintings. There's something for everyone from the wines to the art! And if you're interested in some of the art you can purchase the pieces. What I truly loved is that there is outdoor & inside seating, and if you're outside there is the river front, there is also heaters outside so if it's nice but just a tad bit nippy outside you can still enjoy sitting there enjoying your wine! I had the pleasure of tasting 3 wines this particular day, 2015 Blackbird Vineyards Dissonance (100% Sauvignon Black), 2013, Blackbird Vineyards Illustration (60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon) and 2014 Resolute Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon). All wines had their own unique tastes and were wonderful, however if I had to choose just one as my favorite it would be the 2014 Resolute Cabernet Sauvignon. Besides the wine and art, this tasting room has a charm all it's own with the indoor seating as well as the outdoor seating with heaters (for those days where it might be a tad bit nippy outside) and with the outdoor seating you have the view of the Napa River as well as other fine establishments on the river front such as Morimoto's, which just happens to be right next door. If you want a nice relaxing afternoon looking at great art and tasting some fine wine I highly recommend Riverhouse by Bespoke Collection. read more

This unique tasting room offers more than the wines (which are all excellent) they have various artists displayed including hard to find Eames & Barcelona chairs. Each room has different art to enjoy. You can enjoy your tasting with Morimoto food. Go to their Oak Knoll property on the corner of Big Ranch and Oak Knoll and look at the GIANT Ball with Jacks, Key and chain. Great place to take a picture with Blackbird wines. A tasting at the RiverHouse by Bespoke for their Blackbird wines is a step above the rest! A truly lovely change of pace and combination of wine and their art gallery. We were lucky to have a lovely weather day and sat out on the veranda overlooking the Napa River, which was an additional plus! Our host, Matt, was genial, very knowledgeable about all the wines of Blackbird as well as the larger Bespoke Collection, which was hugely appreciated. He had also done some homework on our past purchases and kindly focused our tasting with that in mind! His sales pitch was perfect for a current customer and we were made to feel at home, unrushed, and as if we were simply sitting sipping among friends! The art was beautiful and it was very nice to be given a few minutes to walk around and take it all in. This is a great option for a different tasting pattern, in a lovely spot, and with some truly awesome wines! TIP: Don't miss their Illustration! It rocks! read more

Beautifully situated along the Napa riverfront area, we had a wonderful early afternoon tasting with Kelli. Kelli is an absolute STAR and such a sweetheart! She was so informative and engaging, we ended up bringing several bottles home with us and really enjoyed all the art in the galleries. I am still sorely tempted by the huge corkscrew piece, but have no room for it in my home. We were lucky enough to catch actors Omar Benson Miller and Hill Harper filming the pilot for their new show Polished and they were nice enough to speak with us and take some photos with us after their segment wrapped. Beautiful day for some wine tasting at an excellent location along the riverfront in Napa! Was blown away once I arrived and stepped into what I would explain as a upscale gallery with some great wine to accompany it. I've been to wineries before that claim they host a wide variety of art, but nothing like the Riverhouse, as most of the artwork really focused on a hip vintage vibe. I can honestly say I would've loved some of the pieces, but the price tag would've cost me selling my car! Artwork aside though, Riverhouse is located in an excellent location with many great food options nearby. We were lucky enough to sample some of Morimoto's (Been wanting to try it for awhile) gourmet bites, which left me wanting to further explore their menu. So onto the wine, one white and four reds is the way to go (Red drinker here). I was not too impressed with the Sauvigon Blanc (Dissonance) and Red Blend (Illustration). As for the final two reds, they were superb, especially loved the Resolute Cabernet Sauvignon. Would love to revisit to try sample newer vintages and other varietals I did not get a chance to try. read more

What a fabulous day on the river in Napa. RIverhouse sits on the river in downtown Napa and houses many beautiful art pieces. I especially loved the comic prints with the hilarious wine comments. It isn't a huge space but there is art in every corner... much more space than at first glance AND the wine was fantastic! We started with a 2015 Blackbird Vineyards Dissonance, which is 100% Sav Blanc. Bright and crisp. Lovely. While perusing the art, we sipped the 2014 Blackbird Vineyards Arise (an almost even blend of merlot, cab and cab franc). It was wonderful. Then we enjoyed my favorite of the day, their 2013 Blackbird Vineyards Illustration--a blend of 60% merlot, 30% Cab Franc and 10% cab--divine! And last but not least, we tasted their 2014 Resolute Cabernet Sauvignon. (This was a close second favorite for me.) There is a patio with seating outside if you prefer the local view to the art, but if you take that route, be sure to peruse the art before you leave. There are some beautiful and playful pieces to enjoy. NOTE: We couldn't find it at first because Main Street skipped 604 and the gps in my phone kept saying, "you are here..." NOT. Luckily Napa Valley Welcome Center was at 608 Main so we went in to ask. They are on the other side of the building, we were told. Love it! According to Matt our wine advisor- the place had only been open since September of 2016. I'm glad because it's such an optimal hidden area right in a cozy little riverfront nook next to Morimoto restaurant along Napa river. We opted for the Principal collection tasting and were pretty impressed. Since it wasn't busy at all (weekday after 4th of July) Matt suggested we taste their acclaimed rosé and enjoy the afternoon at our leisure. Mind you, this is a showroom housing art work while co-hosting this space as Blackbird Vineyard's tasting room. What an awesome idea! Would I be back? Most definitely. As the budget allows, I would probably become a wine member as well. If I had a deeper pocket, I would even purchase artwork from here. read more

I had a good time, but definitely won't be going back! When it came to paying we didn't get a receipt because we didn't think it was necessary, we only ordered 2 glasses of wine so they just ran the card. Wines we ordered(2 glasses) were $10 and $15, later we noticed we were charged $55 for both. How does a tab that should be $25 come out to 55? They said we ordered a $35 glass, for a fact I know we didn't. With no receipt and them having that "we did" in their system, there's no way to get a refund of the difference or show proof. If you go, definitely check your receipts!! You never know what they will charge you. read more

This was a wonderful surprise. A beautiful walk up the river downtown Napa, on a warm day, with a good friend. That walk up to the front of Riverhouse Bespoke Collection, I was impressed with it stylish Elegance. A small welcoming seating area outside so you can enjoy the River View whlle taking some pics of the surrounding area was brilliant. There's also a very comfortable sitting on the inside of this showcase of Art and photography and furnishings and Industrial collections. It's very stylish on the inside very well decorated open space and nice people greeting you at the door. Matthew Mills introduced himself he is a very warm person as well as everyone that represented that company there today. As I walked in they made me comfortable and showed me around the gallery. Any questions we might have about the artwork and prices were answered right away. We were able to enjoy some wonderful wines that were served today. We had the Blackbird Vineyards which have a wonderful selection of wines. The names were unique to their wine. I like that but you do have to take wine notes to remember ones that have names like that. I enjoyed the Arriviste, Dissonance, and the Arise under the Blackbird vineyards Napa Valley label. These wines and many more are offered for sale in the gallery. So if you want to come in and treat it like a wine Boutique with tastings you can do it that way or you can come in and treat yourself to some of the collection to put it in your home. The gallery is a nice-size high ceiling very well-lit and decorated the way I would want to do that. I suggest whether you like wine or art go for one reason or the other and just enjoy it all. It's a very relaxing laid-back way to look at a gallery. Most galleries that I go into have specific lighting in corridors and white walls and it's very kind of modest and unassuming. We had our very own tasting host who lead us through a tasting of 5 of Blackbird's premier wines. 3 of the wines were Bordeaux style blends, which I love and left me with a strong desire to join their wine club! Located next door to Iron Chef Morimoto's new Napa Valley restaurant and fronting the beautiful Napa river, this wine tasting room doubles as a fabulous art gallery - showcasing some of today's most original artists. The concept is utterly beguiling; the fabulously friendly staff are not only extremely knowledgable about the art on display, but they also educate you about their wine. As both a wine snob and an art-lover, I appreciated RiverHouse as the ultimate wine tasting experience. It's got the WOW factor! While everyone has their own particular taste in art, my personal favorites were the small replicas of the Chinese Terracotta Warriors with the heads of super heroes and cartoon characters. Utterly fantastic and fun - just like the wine served. RiverHouse's rooms are exquisitely decorated with beautifully carved ancient wooden doors from Pakistan, lots of unusual antiques such as old hospital operating lamps (you gotta see them to believe it), and unusual Art Deco furniture that will knock your socks off with their timeless style. RiverHouse is extremely beautiful, eclectic, and indeed, one of the most memorable places to taste good wine. Not to persuade or influence anyone, but my own personal favorite of the three wines we sampled was the Cabernet. It was rich and smooth - like silk pajamas for the tongue. And believe it or not, the wines were very affordable! (Didn't see that one coming, did ya?) Centrally located on Napa's famous Riverwalk, RiverHouse is both a wine and art lovers's ultimate experience. For a condensed tour of nappa valley we found ourselves in down town nappa to speed things up. This might be frowned upon by nappa valley purest but that's ok cause we had a great time at blackbird. We loved the location and the visuals when we came across the location. Right along the river walk and inside an art gallery. We sat outside during our tasting on a beautiful day and the host Matt took care of everything. I'm as impressed with the care and customer service as I was the wine selection. I was used to tasting but with a group of novice or brand new to wine in general this was a great introduction to the culture for them. It went so great I was proud I selected the spot. I don't know if I'll ever be in the area again but I enjoyed the experience all the same. read more

I stopped by here on a warm, lovely afternoon for a tasting of the Blackbird Vineyards portfolio, and it did not disappoint! I did not explore the art collection as much as I would have liked, because I was on my way to a friend's house afterward, but I really enjoyed having Jack on hand to walk me through the wines on offer, and helping to advance my knowledge of my own palate a bit. And it was nice to sit on the patio and enjoy some people-watching and a view of the river. Some local kids rode by on their bikes and were very entrepreneurial in trying to negotiate a few bucks in exchange for bike tricks, which we did not indulge, but which I personally found amusing because I appreciate the moxie it took to even consider such an enterprise. Each of the wines had something nice to offer, and most were a little too upscale for my budget but I was grateful for the chance to sample them, and ended up treating myself to a bottle of their Arise, which is a red blend consisting of an almost even split of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cab Franc. I'm saving it for a special occasion, and could see myself coming back to RiverHouse the next time I want to feel fancy. read more

I am so impressed by this place. I am so glad me and my girlfriend randomly stumbled in here. We are from out of town and young 20-somethings. I have been to galleries before where they don't even acknowledge your existence because they assume you can't afford their art (which is mostly true) and don't appreciate the beauty (not true). When we walked in Karen greeted us and took the time to show us the art, explain backgrounds on the artists and really delve into the details of the gallery. We whole-heartedly appreciated this. Then Jonathan explained the wine selection to us and was just so kind and friendly. They also said they did tastings so we told them that we would surely be back to try the wine. Later, when we did return, Jonathan once again greeted us and made us feel so at home and comfortable. I really cannot express enough how this attitude made our experience here so much better. We did a tasting and loved each wine we tasted. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the white wine, dissonance. Honestly, while we did purchase the wine because it tasted amazing, that wasn't enough. What really sold us was how friendly and accommodating the staff was. Not only do I want to drink this wine again, I want to give my business to businesses like this that truly care about the customer.
