Looking for a Tai chi class in Fredericksburg and I found it here with Aaron on Saturday morning. Wonderful space and great class.

Me and my partner came in to get a free gym pass that comes with my apartment complex. When we…read morefirst went, I was told we weren't in the system yet even though we had moved in two weeks earlier. I was told to come back another time. About a week later, I called to check before making another trip. The employee verified my name and address and told me we could come in anytime to get our passes. Due to my work schedule, I wasn't able to go right away, but about a month later we finally had the chance. When we arrived, only the manager was there. I explained that I was ONLY there to pick up my gym pass, not to work out. Before I could finish explaining, she immediately began talking over me in a very condescending tone, saying she had given her staff the weekend off and that while I could still use the gym, I couldn't get a pass right then. I explained that I wasn't trying to use the gym--I only wanted the pass--and asked when I would be able to get it since this was now my third time dealing with the same issue. She cut me off, told me I "wasn't understanding," and continued arguing instead of answering a simple question. The conversation felt more like she wanted to prove a point than actually help. She then said someone would be there in an hour to get our passes. After I mentioned I had to leave for work, that suddenly changed to "a few minutes." She kept insisting she wasn't denying me service even though I repeatedly explained I wasn't asking to work out, just to receive the pass I had already been told I was eligible for. After I left, a family friend went in and asked the exact same questions. That's when I learned the employee I had been speaking with was the GENERAL manager. She told my friend that I had been rude first, which simply wasn't true. My friend even pointed out that the manager spoke to her much more respectfully, despite my friend being far more direct than I ever was. While I waited before leaving for work, the manager started making my partner's gym pass. At this point, we had been there for nearly an hour, and I was already late to work. When I finally said I'd have to come back another day, she didn't acknowledge me at all and just continued clicking on her computer. I work in customer service myself, so I understand bad days, difficult customers, and being short-staffed. That's why I tried to be patient. My issue wasn't that there was a delay--it was the dismissive attitude, constant interruptions, changing information, and lack of communication. She even said she had sent all of her staff home for the holiday weekend, yet when I came back inside there were suddenly two additional employees working. I was genuinely excited to use this gym since it's included with my rent, but this interaction completely changed my impression. After reading other reviews, I realized I'm far from the only person who has had this experience. I hope management takes customer service more seriously because it starts at the top. This happened days ago, and I'm still disappointed by how unnecessary and uncomfortable the entire interaction was.

I'm genuinely surprised this gym is rated as high as 2.6 stars. Based on my experience, the rating…read moreshould be lower. The negative culture isn't an accident,it's a direct result of management's failure to address ongoing issues and hold staff accountable.
