Well, after hearing friends come to this place for several years and say how much they enjoyed it, we decided it was time to try it. We spent 7 days here in early June and enjoyed it a lot. As for the staff, all my interactions were great. The front desk girls were very nice each time I went into the store to get ice or to buy something. The ground crew folks, some of whom were workcampers, were also very friendly. The grounds are decent and clean. Now you know, if you camp, some other campers can mess that up but I didn't see that here during my stay. The pool was decent and a nice break from the hot June beach. The camp store had everything you might need quickly. As for location: You can get to anyplace on Tybee by walking, biking, or golf cart. Its a nice island. Oh, also two dog parks right next to the campground. I could ramble a bit more but I won't. I will say we liked it so much- we booked our next stay before we left. So if you're looking for a nice beach stay and plan on camping - come here - I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

This park would be great for some but not for an overnight camper. Taking the kids to the beach for weekend great place. But.. if your idea of RVing is pleasant view and space this is NOT your place. The trailers are packed in like a dog kennel. And the view? Forget about it!! None anywhere. Mine was some machinery and a cluttered permanent "home". The bath house was clean and they made effort at entertainment having a gentleman sing and play guitar. It was an expensive, dull, lock myself in my RV night. I do not recommend this for any reason except emergency overnight or if you have a real need to go to that particular beach. Making online res was no problem, but then you have to call them the day before to pre-reg. I called three times before I got someone. They assign you a spot on arrival. We were charged for peak season in late April, not even warm enough to swim yet. I paid extra for a premium site: it was at the corner of two streets, one street a truck length from our sleeping heads (our truck was in the street to unhitch), and a major sitework construction project on the other street with non-stop beeping equipment and trucks dumping, starting at 7:15am, every day we were there. At least we weren't on the side of the water treatment plant and poop-smelling dog park. The neighbors had relentless yapping dogs; this went on for a whole day and then I reported it, since somehow the employees didn't seem to care about upholding the rules. If you aren't lucky in your site, it's a rotten stay. Never coming back here. read more

I stayed at River's End during St. Patrick's weekend a couple weeks ago - it was my first time camping. Our tenting site was very close to the bathroom building. The bathrooms were constantly clean. I only used the shower side once, but the water did not make the rest of the bathroom slippery. We spoke with one of the volunteer staff on Sunday afternoon when we were making a mid-late morning breakfast and getting ready to go to the beach. He said he added the shelves/dividers at each site, which were very helpful to hold all our things and cover things for weather reasons. Also good for semi-privacy. As other reviewers have shared, it is a short walk to North Beach/Polk St access entrance. Did not give 5 stars as camping is just not for me. read more

We arrived late and were unaware of our site number, so we weren't able to set up, but everything was straightened out the next morning. River's End Campground is the perfect location for enjoying the North Beach area of Tybee Island. The campground is a "city" campground, but the location gives off a more relaxed beach/island vibe. All the employees were very friendly and helpful, especially the guys in golf carts, who escorted new arrivals and helped all around. The gentleman who escorted us to our site and helped back me in did an amazing job, knowing exactly where to get me situated. One of the best back-in assists I've ever had. The campground is not large, but has a variety of pull through, back-in, pull-in, full hookups, and tent sites available. Most of the sites appeared very level and were average in size. Yes, they are close together, but didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Many of the sites have some shade, except 142-145. Our site (43) was level, spacious, and perfectly located in the center of the campground. The swimming pool was a nice size and well maintained. The camp store had a nice variety of souvenirs, supplies, ice and water. The location of the campground is what makes it ideal. It's a short walk/bike ride to two beach access points (North Beach by the lighthouse and River Beach). Nearby are several restaurants and coffee shops, without having lots of touristy stores/vibes around (That is more of the south part of the island.) The overall relaxing feel and location of the campground makes it one of our top beach stays! read more

This is a very cramped campground and would prefer not to return again. There is a road right through the campground.

To be fair - I do not know a thing about campgrounds, as I have never been camping. However, this place looked great! It was spacious, with curving roadways and palm trees that lent itself to a sweet neighborhood. There is a market, laundry room and a bathroom/shower building that had just been renovated. The washroom was clean and modern. I heard there are cabins and even a swimming pool, although I did not see them. We visited this campground to check out the Sisters On The Fly. This group is filled with women who travel with their various types of motorhomes. This event was holiday themed, so they were super decorated in a festive flavor. Some are brand new, vintage and everything in between. There was even a renovated bus! All proceeds went to a local charity. We had an amazing time visiting with the most incredible ladies with diverse backgrounds. We loved chatting and listening to their stories and reasons for choosing the travel life. Their trailers were all decorated in their own personalities which made so much more fun. I must say, Rivers End Campground made me a believer in this kind of nomad life! read more

If the smell of sewer during your morning coffee or evening s'more doesn't bother you, then this is your place. There is a sewer treatment plant right behind the campground. Honest!! NO JOKE! Sewer treatment center right behind the campground. We gave it a 2 because most of the employees really went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Emphasis on "most". That being said, we would have to give this campground a 1. The sites are postage stamp size. We booked 8 months early. We chose 5 or 6 sites we hoped to get; however, our absolute least desired site on the MAIN ROAD was granted. To the man in the golf cart (one of the helpful kind workers) we were moved 1 road inside the park. Although, not the campgrounds fault, parking is a JOKE on the island. You have to pay $4 an hour w/ a 2 hr minimum EVERYWHERE you go. We even noticed pay signs in the bog drive next to the campground leading to the beach. We left 3 days early because we could not take the smell and paying upwards of $24 dollars a day to go anywhere on the island. Bye bye Tybee. We will never be back. read more

Great campground. A little more than half of the sites are very nice. About 25% are a bit parking lot'ish. Even those sites aren't that bad. The staff are very nice for being such a busy campground. The pool is very nice but not heated. We were very glad it was open because it was in the 80's most of the week. There are two bathroom/shower buildings one is new looking and the other needs refreshing. The tenting area is very nice. North beach is within walking distance. Tybee's main beach is very nice and has three separate parking areas. No free parking on the island. read more

Best place to camp in the area. Staff is always friendly, prices are great, amenities are excellent, and camp store is fully stocked. They have full hookup and tent spots, also some nice little cabins to rent. There is a pool, laundry room, full bathrooms with shower, and the camp store has camping supplies and food, etc. The onsite host Joey (great guy, always friendly and professional) or one of the other onsite hosts will bring you firewood and ice for a nominal price. There are 2 dog parks, a very large one and a smaller one for littler dogs. For about $40 a night you get free cable, wifi, full camper hookup including septic, and large spaces. Plenty of room to wander, 3 minute walk to beach, you can ride your bike everywhere and never drive. Great cheap bar and grill nearby called Huc-a-poo's, and unless you need Walmart everything is on the island that you will need, and even then Walmart is only 9 miles away. Everyone here is awesome, helpful, and we love coming here. We highly recommend to anyone. My wife and I come every year, sometimes more than once a year. read more

We pulled in, greeted and taken care of by a nice office staff, and followed the golf cart to our reserved site. When we got there, it was NOTHING like the spot on the map. I asked the guy. He said "Oh man, that map doesn't look anything like this map". Oh well, it is what is is... Then we noticed out neighbors 5 ft away from our rig, were not RVers or campers. They were a homeless couple living in their truck with a complete mess of a tarp tent on the flatbed they were towing with junk and trash everywhere. We didn't leave anything out. We know the type. They knocked on our door at dusk and needed a jump to start their truck. Then they left the truck running all night for warmth. My concern: What kind of RV park allows this rif raf? WiFi: In this day and age, in this remote working world and distanced families, it is just unforgivable to not have strong WiFi. It was non-existent. No excuse. Spend some money and upgrade. Future success will demand it. Yes, it's a sh-- hole, so why did I give 3 stars instead of 1 star? The office staff is very friendly and they do accept deliveries. read more

We stayed at this campground for a family vacation in October, and we occupied 3 spaces. The sites are right on top of each other, with no privacy, but it was perfect for spending time with family. Our sites had lots of shade from live oak trees, which was great. We were in the very center of the campground, so we didn't experience any noise from the street (as some reviewers have noted). It was perfectly safe for the kids to ride their bikes. The best part of the campground is the bathrooms. They were kept very clean. Climate controlled, which was nice. They have individual bathrooms, each with a toilet, sink, and shower. Several of them were HUGE; definitely room for a parent with small kids. And oh my gosh, there were hooks & shelves galore. It was fabulous being able to hang a towel on one hook, bathing suit on one hook, and dry clothes on another. There were also shelves where clothes or bags could be kept out of the way. The showers themselves had plenty of shelves & also a wire basket, so nothing had to be placed on the floor. I know I'm going on & on about the bathrooms, but after experiencing some rather bad ones at other campgrounds, it was fabulous. The pool area is nice. Large pool with a shallow end & a deep end, & lots of seating. Our family took advantage of movie night at the pavilion, too. They played "The Great Outdoors". We were the only ones who went, so we could talk & laugh as much as we wanted. The staff was really friendly. If you buy firewood at the camp store, they deliver it to your site. They also sell parking passes if you plan to drive to the beach. We mostly drove, since we take so much stuff (fishing poles & gear, coolers, chairs, sand castle supplies, boogie boards). You can certainly walk, though. It's only a few blocks. You can also go to the riverside, which is closer, and either stay there or walk along the beach to the ocean. For a family vacation, it was perfect. If my husband & I were going on a romantic solo trip, the proximity to other campsites wouldn't be ideal. read more

Meh. I've experienced way better. In addition to that, I've never paid nightly rates that expensive anywhere else. Keeping in mind that this is the only campground in Tybee Island, I knew that the rates would be expensive during their peak season (April 1st- September 3rd). When I called Sunday to make my Tuesday-Thursday reservation, I could've sworn that she said that the rate was $79 per night. She also said that there were only 4 more sites available. So, I discussed with my husband and called back right away, for fear that they would sell out before Tuesday. She said that there was a premium spot available for $10 more. I opted for the non premium spot, but once I decided on a site number and she told me the rate total, the rate that I paid was $89 per night. Again, I consider the supply and demand, the location, and that the sites were full hookup, so I sucked it up and paid. Check-out at the campground that we were staying at in Savannah was an hour prior to check-in at this Tybee Island campground, so I called to see if it were possible for a slightly earlier check-in time. She put me on hold for a couple of minutes and then came back and said that the people in that site were still there, and hadn't checked out. No biggie. What was a biggie, was that when were arrived, there were a ton of sites available. In fact, there were a ton of empty sites the entire time we stayed. I felt conned and rushed into booking that Sunday, after being told that there were only four sites available and that they fill up fast. I also felt that because there were so many sites, one of those should've been offered to me for early check-in. So, don't expect much in the customer service area here. My site was NOT premium. It was on the first row. Considering it was the closest row to and from our walk to the beach, that was a good thing. What wasn't a good thing, was the noise. The first row ran parallel to a busy, public road. Not the main road on Tybee, but it was the way that the locals took as a shortcut and it practically remained busier than the main road. So, there was literally a curb in between our RV and constant passing vehicles. DO GET THE FRONT ROW. I didn't take advantage of any of the amenities, which included the pool and laundry facility. I did like that it was within walking distance of the lighthouse and the beach. It wasn't necessarily an easy walk to the beach either. It wasn't shaded and the heat was painful after spending a day in the sun. If you choose to drive to the beach, you would have to pay to park. In fact, you have to pay to park pretty much anywhere in Tybee Island. read more

We camped here with some of our friends in May. It's a good time to camp close to the beach because the nights were still cool and the bugs aren't bad yet. It's a pretty inexpensive way to spend the night near the beach. The primitive camp sites are $50 a night and if you want water and electricity they are about $70 a night. We opted for the primitive. Our site was very shady which was nice. They have full sun sites too. We got lucky. I made reservations a month before and we got there right at 2 pm when you can check in. I'm not sure if you can choose your site if call and make a reservation. That's what I'll try and do when we go back. The site is nice. It comes with a fire pit and a metal picnic table and a tent pad large enough for two large tents. They have a good size swimming pool that is open until 10. There is a large store and a laundry room. My favorite part of the campground was how they had the bath house set up. Each bath was individual room with a shower, toilet and sink that was completely yours. Usually you have to shower and go to the bathroom in a room with lots of stalls. On our side of the campground the bath house had 5 rooms. You could almost all the time walk straight in and not wait. They were super clean. The campground is a short walk to the beach. We brought our bikes and could easily get to north beach and the pier. We will definitely camp here again. read more

My friend and I were very excited to have the opportunity to camp at Rivers End Campground, Tybee Island, Georgia. We had reservations for Wednesday and Thursday (11/9, 10). Due to the National Weather system forecasting the possibility of hurricane Nicole being a direct hit to Tybee Island we decided to leave early Thursday morning. We were given a voucher to use at another time at this campground but unfortunately that will not happen for us because we are 10+ hours away. To make matters worse, we talked to two different staff and were told what I believe to be inconsiderate thoughts on safety and overall well being. Our deposit would not be refunded because the road to Tybee island was only "closed for less than two hours". Which by the way, would have been exactly at check out time. I'm sure they would have liked to charge for another night if we were a few minutes late leaving. Don't expect warm and fuzzy if you go here. They apparently are only concerned about the money. read more

Recently we had issues with Rivers End Campground, with the rudeness of the office charging $25.00 extra for checking in at 11:00. when check in time was 1:00 but we googled the owners of Rivers End Campground and found the previous owners were forced to sell to the City of Tybee, because Tybee was implementing legal action on them to force them to sell. This is just wrong and like I said before we will never reserve a camp site at Rivers Ends Campground again. read more

We just spent a long weekend at River's End Campground and we loved this this place! Although it's fairly small, it's extremely well kept and has such a great retro feel. We felt welcomed immediately as we were guided to our campsite by a staff member in a golf cart. Then we were expertly guided into our site by Roger, who made it the easiest backup ever! What a great help! The staff at this place go above and beyond to make everyone comfortable and take care of any issues you might have. This place is a short walk or bike ride to two beaches and there's a very nice pool on site. Also the bathrooms and showers are much nicer than what you usually find at most campgrounds. When initially making our reservation with Kim it was made clear that if there were changes or cancelation to reservations they needed to be made 3 days prior or no refund of deposit on 4/1/21. It is 4/15/21. My reservation was for 5/8/21. Plenty of time for a cancelation right? Wrong, just for making a reservation and no services rendered your charged for a full night if you have to cancel. Or you could just change the reservation and it's good for 6 months. I have been informed by the site that 'they are sorry I did not understand the policy'. I did not get policy until I received the email and it is different than what was explained to me on the phone. I am not using any services from this campground and because I made a reservation and have to cancel (3 weeks in advance) I am now charged a complete night of services I did not use. So, be sure your going or your out of your hard earned money. read more

We called prior to arrival and ask if they had spaces. They said no reservations were necessary. They informed us that they had plenty of spaces. We arrived at 1:15 pm check in time us 1:00pm. We ask for one spot just for the night. They then told us they had no spots for us we told them we called ahead and they called us liars. The young white woman was very rude to us. She told us we fill up for the week end. This was only Thursday I pointed out to them. My guess they were holding out for people they would rent out spots for 4 days. We had a hurricane scare so decided to head North to Georgia and found the cute little beach town of Tybee Beach. We stayed at this campground from Friday to Monday and it was awesome .Was beautifuly maintained and spacious hookups.Amenities where great ,showers ,washer dryers ,they even had a gym .1 mile walk to Beach .was so cool people were riding around with golf carts lol .Hot water worked well for our showers as well as cable .The people who worked there were very friendly and nice and welcoming. The pictures on the website look nothing like what you get. It is so crowded our grill was literally under the next campers window, which should also tell you how close they are to one another. Everyone was nice though but even if you die don't expect any kind of refund whatsoever. If you don't mind camping on top of hundreds of other people only three feet apart then you will love it. They parked us right next to the road so it was like pulling over on the road and camping. Ever camper that left went by us all day, all night. No trees no shade and lots and lots of kids riding and running around. Sorry my review isn't better, but absolutely not what I had imagined. read more

Asked them to handle a noise issue and over 15 people partying in a cabin they said I needed to call the cops. Two nights in a row people partying till 3am - guy rolled up on cart and asked them to quiet down, didn't even get off the cart to see the extra tents they pitched in the back.
