I've stayed in places with breathtaking ocean views, beautiful beaches, mountain scenery, and every amenity you could ask for. River's End is different. This isn't a restaurant review. This is an RV park review. And after everything I've experienced since starting RV life, I honestly don't know how anything else is supposed to compete with this place. I thought RV life was going to be about traveling up and down the California coast, constantly searching for the next great destination. Then I found River's End. The first thing that struck me was that people don't come here because they're passing through. They come here because they want to be here. The restaurant is packed. The patio is packed. There are classic cars, motorcycles, families, dogs, live music, and people sitting around enjoying themselves. It feels less like a business and more like a gathering place. You can feel it the moment you arrive. Everyone is happy. That sounds simple, but it's surprisingly rare. Most RV parks are places where people park. River's End is a place where people gather. People stay longer than they planned. Conversations start between strangers. People laugh. They relax. They enjoy themselves. The atmosphere is impossible to fake. The food is outstanding, but if the food were the only attraction, people wouldn't drive all the way out here just to spend an afternoon. They're coming for the experience. And what an experience it is. The property itself is beautiful. Mature trees, open space, rolling hills, a creek running through the grounds, and one of the most unique environments I've ever encountered. But what makes River's End special isn't the scenery. It's the feeling. For someone living the RV life, spending long stretches of time on the road, you notice the difference immediately. Some places are beautiful but feel empty. Some places are convenient but forgettable. River's End feels alive. It's one of those rare places where you look around and realize nobody wants to leave. Well I just can't get on board with River's End after our experience. If you look at my history of Yelp reviews, it is apparent I work hard at supporting businesses and giving honest feedback. In terms of River's End, I did have high hopes. The Good: Easy to make reservations. The hostess was very welcoming. The bus boys were helpful and pleasant. Out server, Sky was very friendly and accomodating. She offered to give us separate checks which was appreciated. We were a party of 5 in need of 3 checks. The Menu has a great assortment of offerings. The Not So Good: Memorial Day Weekend and short staffed. We came for the brisket and they were low on brisket. It was only available as a sandwich or 50/50 plate. All of our meals came out COLD. Not only was the mac & cheese cold but it was underseasoned. The trip-tip was over done and very dry and tasteless. The cornbread was doughy and undercooked. The woman who brought out our food was not our server, Sky. That woman was somewhat of a smarty pants complaining we did not know our own orders. However the problem was that NONE of the plates had the right sides. One of the 50/50 plates supposedly had brisket and tri-tip but the brisket was a pile of shredded meat of some sort and we could not tell what it was. She was down right rude. They ran out of onion rings but failed to tell the servers and substituted fries without asking what we wanted in place of the onion rings. They didn't even hold back some onion rings for the Bear Burger which includes an onion ring, an enticing reason to order the Bear Burger. I have no problem paying for a good meal, but these meals were not worth the money. It is very likely this could have been just an off day. What I can tell you is that regardless of the situation, I am always courteous and appreciative of all workers in the restaurant world. So cute. Great find tucked away off the 14 near Agua Dulce Canyon. Indoor outdoor seating. Yes it's an RV park and a cool one! For kids: they had a bouncy jumper for Easter. They have swings and a small gymnasium. There's space for the kiddos to ride bikes. No grass though and didn't see any dogs. Ambience: At night they have lighting across the parking lot and outdoors super cute. Indoor is bright and casual bar feel. Service: slow but good and expected. They need more laborers. Food: Mac n cheese are shells and thick and the cheese is a white creamy cheese but it was served cold. Probably great when hot. Cornbread is fantastic if you like very dense dulce de leche kind of moist cornbread that's cake like. Really great with the cowboy beans and spicy sausage. Spicy sausage is juice and spicy. A little thin though. Garlic butter wings are good but I asked for them to be fried well done and they were not. Cowboy beans are a little tart with the vinegar but good and hearty. Draft beers are good. Lucky Luke blonde was solid. Good for large groups. If sit outside be ready for mosquitos, wind blowing, they have portable heaters if needed. This place is fantastic and we found it by chance after striking out on several locations we wanted to try. Not only is this location located in a picturesque setting, surrounded by mountains, train sounds in the distance, water flowing from the nearby river; they even have an RV park where you can stay at. All this is before you even talk about the food. The food is delicious, BBQ in front of you, amazing outdoor communal dining, on the weekends they even have live music to enjoy. This place was amazing and just the kind of place we were looking to enjoy on Valentine's Day Weekend. Amazing food and great ambiance! Went on a Sunday and sat outside so I was able to watch the live music they offer on weekends. The blues band was great and food was equally as good! To start we each got a jalepeno popper and some here things are huge! Well worth the 7$ each. Huge pieces of brisket on top and very good stuffing. For our mains, the lady got an ipa and the 50/50 platter and I got the vanilla stout with the cave man platter. VERY Very tasty. Didn't get a pic of the cave man platter but the tri tip, brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs were all great and pair very well with their homemade bbq sauces. This was my first time here to eat. All I can say is Wow. The service was immediately welcoming and amazing. The waitress was quick and attentive. The food comes out fast. We started with wings , which were crispy but moist on the inside. Pork belly bites holy smokes ! So Good. We then had the jalapeños popper which was so flavorful and delish. We were already almost full but still ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs and tri tip. Both were exactly what we were craving ! The side dishes were so good. Fries, beans , coleslaw, corn bread. River's End is one unassuming but fantastic BBQ spot that is worth making your way out to! Although I wanted to try the Tri-Tip, Brisket, and Pulled Pork, the special of the day was a huge Beef Short Rib (~1LB) with two sides that my wife and I shared. Meat was seasoned and smoked well, fall of the bone tender, and fat was rendered through. One of the better short ribs I've had in a long time, and while the spicy bbq sauce wasn't needed, it was tangy enough to help even out the richness of the meat. The side of sprouts are smoked, then deep fried and hit with a balsamic glaze, and were quite good. Fries were seasoned well and crispy, I could have had a ton of them. I did get to try some brisket and onion rings from another person in our party and the brisket was decent considering it was pretty close to closing and the onion rings were tasty. Food came out in a timely fashion and service was extremely friendly. We felt like we were regulars even though we had never been. Extra point for having a good local beer on draft (I wish they had more local options, but at least they had Lucky Luke!). Wind your way through Soledad Canyon and pop in to River's End for a cold beer and good BBQ! You might even get lucky and find live music or comedy on their outdoor stage or inside the pub, but one thing's for sure, you're guaranteed to get a good plate of BBQ! read more

My parents have been raving about this place so of course when I came to visit they had to take my husband and I for some good BBQ. Growing up in Acton, I was definitely hesitant about a BBQ place in an old RV Park I used to drive by whenever I took the scenic drive home from SCV, but dang this place far exceeded my expectations. First of all, huge shoutout to our waitress, Lorna, as well as the hostess. They were both super friendly and offered exceptional service. The restaurant was pretty big. There was a fairly large indoor dining area, a separate bar, a covered patio, and picnic tables outside. We chose to sit outside since the weather was so nice. We loved the string lights as it added to the cozy atmosphere. They also have live music, but we came later in the evening and missed it (hoping to catch the music next time we come). Now let's talk BBQ. There are a ton of amazing BBQ joints in the State & City I now live, but River's End was some of the best we've had in a long time. My husband and I split the Sunday Special, the beef short rib, which was MASSIVE! It looked like a dinosaur bone. The meat was so tender that we never needed a knife and it had great flavor. We had fries and Brussel sprouts for our sides; fries were standard but good, the Brussels were sooooo delicious. My mom got the 50/50 plate with brisket and pulled pork. Both meats were super tender and juicy, but we all enjoyed the pulled pork slightly more than the brisket. My dad had a mad craving for a burger and said it was pretty good. We heard about this place on Instagram. Decided to give them a try. Its a short 10 min drive up Soledad from Sierra hwy/Soledad intersection. We drove into the RV park and found parking right away. Was it worth it? The drive to this location made our group question if it really existed. When we arrived it looked like a dirt lot with RV's. Fortunately there is plenty of parking. Service was efficient and the inside a bit compact but luckily there was outdoor seating. It's summer now so I'd recommend to go inside. The pork belly bites were a bit dry and under portioned for 10 bucks. Had the caveman platter which had pulled pork ( pretty dry) , 4 spare ribs brisket( a bit dry) and Tri tip( a tad tough) . Side of Mac and baked beans. Both sides were fantastic. Creamy rich Mac, and a fresh and perfectly textured chew on the pasta choice, the beans were NOT overly sweet and had the right amount of meat and beans in it with peppers as well. The Bronto Rib was delicious. Did it fall off the bone? No but soft enough for it to come right off with a butter knife. One thing that had me question this place was the bbq sauces. The cornbread was tasty but too crumbly, the butter helps but it needs work nonetheless. The sweet sauce was overly sweet and the spicy barely had heat. I would recommend they have a Tennessee mustard bbq sauce or have a couple options. They tasted a bit rough due to the heavy vinegar. Was it worth it? My son called me and said he was at Rivers end. I went out and had a really great time. They had a live outdoor bluegrass band, a free bounce house for kids, outside bar for adults. They had a couple of wood pit fires going, inside seating, outside with heaters, and park bench seating. Their BBQ was excellent. The brisket was not dry, the ribs were flavorful. Also, on the cool side, not warm or hot. I thought the loaded fries were sounding delicious and they did look good in Yelp photos. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful & the BBQ sauce was yum, but the "house smoked queso" mentioned in the description was missing. The "crispy fries" were indeed that, but my personal preference is a thicker steak fry. That being said, hubby likes the thinner fries and ate most of those for me. Service is friendly, but this staff is constantly running, so drink refills took a hot minute. Seemed Janet & Hannah were doing bar tending, meal prep, delivery, check ins and closing tabs all at once. Whew! AND they were taking care of interior, separate bar AND patio service. A VERY frustrating experience. We had reservations for Father's Day, arrived on-time, and were asked to wait outside. From there, we were seated quickly. So far, so good. It took a long time to be acknowledged by a server, and we finally had to pluck one as she walked by. As she took out order, we were warned that the kitchen was behind and that the order may take a bit of extra time to arrive. 75 minutes later, our appetizer arrived, followed 15 minutes later by one of three entrees, which was barely warm. The other two entrees arrived about 10 minutes later, which really threw off the dining experience. That should never happen in a well-run restaurant. What's strange is that the restaurant was busy, but it certainly wasn't overcrowded, and there appeared to be plenty of waitstaff. What's also strange is that BBQ does not require very much at-the-moment cooking. It's almost always prepared in-bulk and served - that's why so many Texas BBQ places are counter/cafeteria style. They were also out of many items with 2 hours of service still left! They just seemed totally unprepared for the Father's Day crowd despite a special menu and plenty of social media advertising.
