But this was a quick trip because of an event at the kid's school and it's a straight shot on 26 into town. The staff was amazing! Of course we had to travel through what was being called an epic winter storm, so the first thing they did was put a hold on our site in case we got stuck down here. 2nd when she asked if we brought the dogs with us, she moved us to a different premium site that was closer to the dog park. Super convenient! It's an older park, but it is very well maintained. The sites are on top of each other, but we pretty much expect that from every KOA. This was middle of the winter, so everyone was spread out. The maintenance crew was working there tails off. Looks like they are leveling sites and there was a lot of new lumber in stacks. Not sure if they are redoing fencing? Would we stay here again for a quick trip? Absolutely. Again, it's an easy trip down 26 into downtown.

Upon walking in, we were greeted and asked if this was our first time at the location - it was our first rodeo so she explained the setup. Essentially you pick an item (price on the bottom) and once that's established you pick some colors and paint on! I know with supply issues it may be hard to stock for inventory, but found the selection enough for me plus was stumped on what to decide on! I like how they have seasonal items like ornaments, dreidels, halloweenie goodies, Easter, St Patrick's Day, etc. plus the basics like plates, cups, and side dishes. There's a range of prices from $6-$250 (that one was a gnome riding an owl statue lol). A little paint goes a long way plus I liked how they re-used the plastic palettes so that's environmentally conscious. It was super calming to paint plus liked the spinning wheel to avoid touching the item as much while getting each nook and cranny. It'll take around 2-3 weeks to pick up the item I'm guessing due to kiln space so I'll post the after picture then! If I had kids I would definitely host a party for them here, lovely way for folks of all ages to flex their creativity. Wish there were more studios with pottery wheels to create from the ground up. There were quite a few ant hills around the "wall" of each jungle gym set, so be cautious. I got bit a couple times. I didn't really see any bugs in the mulch. It's not worth going out of your way for, but if you live nearby I think it's a good hidden spot.

They have never missed a school pickup and are open on teacher workdays, unlike some other after-school centers. Outside of the school year, my child also attends their summer program, which is wonderful. Every single day they have planned activities for the kids, so you never have to worry about them sitting around doing nothing. I get paid twice a month, and it has never been an issue if I needed to make a late payment because of my pay schedule. Once I explain my situation, they are always understanding and willing to work with me. Not once have I ever felt that my child was unsafe while in their care. Even during field trips, I know she is always well looked after. I highly recommend Holy City to any parent looking for a safe, caring, and reliable after-school program.
