This may the best campground we have ever stayed at by far. The place is awsome. It was our first time to Charleston and honestly we would have been happy to stay in the park the whole time. Walking trails and plenty of room to roam. A great dog park that our lab loved and she really enjoyed her swim in the lake. The place offers full hookups and nice sites. The park was nice and quiet. We will be back to visit again and hopefully soon.

Stayed for seven nights while on spring break from Florida. Almost everyday we found ourselves saying, "I wish they had something like this in Orlando!" We have quite a few nice campgrounds all across Florida, but no County Park with such a plethora of things to do! A rock wall, rope challenge course, fishing dock, numerous paved bike paths, a new childrens' park, huge open fields, a large dog park and all the rental (bikes, kiakes, boats, etc.) equipment you need. Every bit of the 600+ acre park is in pristine condition and the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. We had a minor electrical issue when we pulled in Saturday night; no problem--they sent someone right out. He was very accommodating and pleasant. We were in site 124, right around the corner from the office with enough space to fit out 40' fifth wheel, F350 and golf cart with room to spare. Most, if not all, sites are shaded by oak trees and include a fire ring, free Wi-Fi and picnic table. If available, we recommend the pull-thru sites for big rigs. Our site was great, but there's always one better ;) You can't beat the location; only 20 minutes to downtown Charleston and 10 minutes to Folly Beach (highly recommended by the locals).

Very helpful staff and a fun, rustic location with an excellent, well attended dog park. We enjoyed our time here.

But this was a quick trip because of an event at the kid's school and it's a straight shot on 26 into town. The staff was amazing! Of course we had to travel through what was being called an epic winter storm, so the first thing they did was put a hold on our site in case we got stuck down here. 2nd when she asked if we brought the dogs with us, she moved us to a different premium site that was closer to the dog park. Super convenient! It's an older park, but it is very well maintained. The sites are on top of each other, but we pretty much expect that from every KOA. This was middle of the winter, so everyone was spread out. The maintenance crew was working there tails off. Looks like they are leveling sites and there was a lot of new lumber in stacks. Not sure if they are redoing fencing? Would we stay here again for a quick trip? Absolutely. Again, it's an easy trip down 26 into downtown.
