After a week in Killington my wife and I officially became obsessed with Rivershed. We couldn't go enough times and we missed it as soon as we left. Rivershed is literally my definition of the perfect restaurant. The food was amazing! In our many visits we had a bbq combo plate which was to die for (oh that brisket and ribs!) the chicken tacos (SO good and the perfect size) the wings (meaty, not greasy and perfect) as well as many whiskey cocktails. We were lucky enough to see some amazing live music when we were there which was just the icing on the cake. The vibe is perfect, the staff in welcoming and kind, the food is amazing and the music is top notch. We cannot wait to return! read more

Skratch Kitchen - VT's best kept Secret - Hands down some of the best food I've had in Vermont and have been coming up here for since i was in diapers. My wife and 2 kids ( 5 & 7) are big foodies and difficult to impress. We strolled in on a whim since we were staying at the woods across the street. Extremely clean, well maintained and amazing atmosphere with live music. First night we shared a few apps "side of sausage", "corn dip" and had salads for dinnr, our kids both had chix fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were home made not something out of a bag frozen. We Came back the next night and tried the "crispy Brussels" & egg rolls, they were bomb! Tacos and fried chicken sandwich followed, topped it off with the "brookie" dessert. Equally as impressed the 2nd night. If your looking for real food made from scratch and not the typical Vermont ehh dishes than this is your place. I promise you will not be disappointed! Friendly staff, very attentive, and well mannered. The only thing i can't understand is anyone giving this restaurant a bad review, unless it's local competition that's envious of this place nailing every plate they serve, and if that's the case come and take notes from the chef here ! We came for the weekend and ate here every single day for several reasons: - The first night I had brisket tacos and was super impressed by how perfectly cooked the brisket was as well as the freshness of toppings and sides. Even the dirty rice was spot on. - Next day, after snowboarding all day, I got a basic chicken finger appetizer while my husband got the fish n' chips. Both were light and perfectly fried. So simple but so delicious. Battered and fried to order which made all the difference. - Last day we got a burger, a prime rib wrap, and macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese had a smokey flavor. The wrap was filled with tender prime rib and plenty of flavor. The burger was on point as well according to my husband. - The food was consistent and reliable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Finally, the overall atmosphere was low key and cozy. We loved this place and will certainly be back. read more

I went with a friend on Friday April 21st. The place was packed, but we managed to find a pair of seats at the bar. Rhonda waited on us, and provided us with excellent service in spite of the crowded bar. I was hungry and ordered some dinner as well as a bowl of the gumbo. The gumbo was excellent. It had a bit of tang without being overwhelming and smoked chicken really added to the flavour. For my entree, I had the melt sandwich. It was phenomenal , the melted cheese was the perfect level of poet-gooey. We grabbed an order of nachos to go, planning ahead for late night munchies. I added the pulled pork to the order and it did not disappoint. Although initially hesitant of the $8 up charge the pulled-pork added, it was worth every penny of the extra $8. Sunday night trivia and a great varied menu. We had 8 people in tow all with different taste and some with dietary needs. Our waitress handled every curve ball we threw at her with ease. Even though we had a large group she kept on top of all our needs. Terrific drinks were dispensed from the bar with no problem keeping up with our wanting to try everything on the menu. Best new addition to the Killington restaurant scene. Lively atmosphere on a Saturday night in February. There was a wait but we didn't mind, the live music duo were great. It's a Tennessee inspired bbq place, but you can tell the kitchen is paying attention to the little details. Hostess and waitstaff were super friendly. Our waiter suggested the Southwestern egg rolls and they were delicious. Cesar salad was good, if a little heavy on the dressing. The burgers are smash burgers and they're excellent.
