Nope. Just moved here and had my first appointment here. My teeth have been healthy and I go to the dentist as often as possible. On my first visit, dr c tells me that I have 8 cavities. I have had one filling in my 37 year life, and now I need 8?! This place just wants to drill your teeth to make money. Not to mention the condescending attitude. I went to the dentist twice a year in Colorado and was told my teeth were great. I switch here and suddenly they want to do $2k in work?! This place is a scam. read more

I actually did business with the owner several years ago. It took a couple of years after that transaction to finally muster up the courage to make an appointment with a dentist, and I remembered Dr. Kirkland. I had not been to the dentist in over 10 years, it was ridiculous. That was about 6 years ago. I go to his office twice year now for cleanings and am very satisfied. The office is very nice and equipped with newer equipment, you can tell this place was well thought out and invested in. The part about this place that is so impressive to me is the fact that many of the employees that work there today have been there the entire time I have been going. This tells me that he is doing something right, and it really makes life easier for the patient. His staff is awesome, period. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating, it really helps put you at ease (if you are uncomfortable). My wife also goes there and she is very happy as well. read more

I've been going to this dentist for a couple years after a referral from a friend. I couldn't be happier with the service and the facility. It's a relatively small office, but it is beautiful and clean and inviting. Every single staff member from the front desk staff to the hygienists up to Dr. Kirkland himself, are all extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. It must be a nice place to work because the staff members are all genuinely happy to help. I have since recommended this office to anyone and everyone who has ever mentioned the word dentist while in my presence. read more

The BEST Dentist I've ever been to, Doctor Jason Kirkland is wonderful at his job. Every time I have an appointment, they are always on time with their schedule, I get in right away and out of there very quickly. I was very cold due to the A/C being on high and one of the assistants offered me a blanket to cover up. All the staff are very friendly and gentle with the service. I was attached to my dentist when I lived in Phoenix, so when I moved back to Tucson, I was reluctant to get a new one. So glad I went with Riverside! The facility is clean and gorgeous. The front office people are incredibly professional, organized, and on their game. They send out text reminders for appointments which is so helpful. They are always very friendly and greet me with a smile. I go back RIGHT away - I am talking within two minutes of my appointment at the most. I've never waited. The hygienists are always sweet and make great conversation. And best of all Dr. Kirkland is the bomb. Very friendly, very good at what he does. Doesn't recommend any unnecessary treatments. So, this place was pretty disappointing. I moved to Tucson from Saint Louis and selected this dentist office. When I came into the office they told me I needed x-rays. I told them to only do what's covered by my insurance. They claimed they called insurance and verified coverage and did a ton of xrays. I should have had a zero co-pay but received a bill for a 100 bucks. I called too only find out why I was being charged and I was told for the 5 year x-ray they already said they got approval on from insurance is being billed. They blamed the insurance company claiming they must have given bad information. Well, I called insurance company and they pulled the call with the dentist office and sure enough when insurance company gave covered items this was not one of them. This was the dentist office fault as of today Dr. Kirkland and his staff won't take responsibility for it. The first office person I spoke with was rude and then the office manger wasn't any better she offered for me to pay half. Umm, NO! What's funny is this xray was sent directly to the computer no hard copies. So, the cost is likely zero other then flipping the power switch. I would think they would have wanted to keep me as a patient but they were more worried about a 100 bucks. Now, they have threaten to send me to collections. This business demands that patients re-confirm their existing appointments or else they will cancel the patient appointment. Melanie is the best and I am so disappointed to have to find a new dentist after going here for years! I had even referred several other patients there, over the years Liz, the office manager, has stated to me in writing the office policy is that if a patient does not re-confirm their existing appointment, she will cancel their appointment. She does not "request" a confirmation. She "demands" confirmation (she says it is "required" to keep your appointment) with a threat of canceling the appointment if the patient does not re-confirm. I don't know of a single business that does this, I think it is a great idea to "request" a re-confirmation, but after already sending out a two week reminder, and a 48 hour reminder, to then demand a proactive re-confirmation from the patient or else your appointment will be canceled, is just too aggressive for me. If I am in court or busy with the kids or my phone is broken, if I do not get to her text demand in time for a re-confirmation, (so I therefore do not respond), she has said she will cancel the appointment. Just really shocked by this policy. I've been going there for years - to threaten to cancel my appointments that I have set up months in advance, is bad customer service. It is a bit of a bully move - some businesses send out a confirmation and they may kindly "request" a reply but they don't cancel your appointment if you do not reply. Liz confirmed in writing that this is the policy, she will cancel appointments if patients don't re-confirm. Simply cannot support a business that does this. I sure will miss Melanie but will recommend to my friends who go here to rethink their dentist. read more

Having neglected to keep up on regular dental visits I decided it has high time I get myself into the dental chair. Of course I turned to Yelp! for guidance and was not disappointed. Dr. Kirkland and his staff are great! I had a series of visits to take care of a couple of cavities and a broken crown along with a cleaning. They scheduled tasks together in order to limit the number of visits. They were prompt with appointment times and followed up the next day to make sure everything was okay. I definitely recommend this office and have found my new dental "home". read more

Recently I switched dentists and I'm glad I made the move to Dr. Kirkland's practice. His staff are by far the most professional I've come across in a dental office. The lady at the front - I think her name is Liz - is especially helpful and courteous. She's very accommodating when scheduling appointments and always follows up with reminders and confirmations; something my previous dentist didn't do which caused me to have missed appointments. Needless to say, that drew my ire and hence why I'm now at Riverside Dental. read more

I was referred to Riverside Dental by my fiance after a terrible experience at another dentist, Sabino Smiles. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Kirkland and his staff!!! The friendliness and professionalism honestly reminded me of my small, hometown dentist. The front office staff was very friendly, and they seemed to recognize other reoccurring patients upon entering the door. There was virtually no wait after filling out my new patient paperwork. After hearing about my previous experience, Dr. Kirkland was very honest in his assessment of my teeth and gums. His hygienist was also very honest and consistent with Dr. Kirklands recommendations. I was treated as a person/patient as opposed to a source of income (as I felt at Sabino Smiles). I'm definitely glad I made the change!!! read more

I was petrified of going to the dentist, and hadn't been in much too long. Everyone at Riverside Dental put me at ease immediately! They were all so friendly and helpful and explained exactly what was happening. They knew the ins and outs of my insurance and told me the costs ahead of time. The office is very soothing and comfortable, with televisions at each seat, lots of windows, and nice skylights to look at while the (really awesome!) hygienist, Melanie, is cleaning. It's a little cool inside (like most of Tucson in summer, the AC is cranked up), so they offered me a blanket, but I was comfortable without one. I am by no means a fan of dentists, thanks to terrible childhood experiences. When I moved to Tucson I feared I would never find a dentist I would like. Thankfully Dr. Kirkland proved me wrong! The Dr and staff are gentle and super friendly and they go out of their way to make me comfortable - even offering a blanket when the AC is on overtime. Here I feel more like family than a paycheck. On my most recent visit I was still signing in (5 minutes early) when I was greeted by the hygienist by name and invited in. The only time I ever had to wait was due to a patient emergency to fix work done by another dentist. From observing interactions with the Dr and patients it is clear that the staff is treated well. I've been going to see Dr. Kirkland and team since they started, literally years. I never knew what a nice atmosphere or gentle touch meant in dentistry until I met Melody and Dr. K. You walk in a brand new office (well, a few years now), and it's decorated beautifully, along with clouds on the ceiling in the rooms! I love that. Sounds of waterfalls from the decor on the walls and super-friendly staff greet you when you walk in. Since I've started started going to Riverside Dental, I have built a great relationship with the team and due to that have referred my entire family and given great reviews to friends as well. Truly, they are knowledgeable, gentle, and can solve ANY dental issue (even whiten for those of us concerned with those things!). I went to Riverside Dental after moving to Tucson and after my check up and cleaning they said I had 4 cavities which was quite surprising as I had been to a dentist about 6 months before with a clean check up. I just felt suspicious after that visit and went to another dentist about a year later. I had a thorough check up with cleaning and x-rays at the new dentist's ... AND HAD NO CAVITIES. Very upsetting to think that I almost had unnecessary dental work at Riverside Dental. I'd never recommend them. Beware. read more

This dental group I found through my insurance United Healthcare Dental group website. I called to verify if they actually took this insurance and was told they provided services for my insurance. I made an appointment in March for an appointment the last week of May. In the meantime, I printed and filled out the appropriate forms online for their offices. I noticed one particular form that stated that I could be charged $50.00 if I canceled an appointment with them. Being that I live almost 40 miles away from this office, I was going to question them about this charge when I got to their offices. When I went up to their reception desk, I gave the woman all my forms and asked about the $50.00 cancellation charge form. I told her, being in AZ with the Monsoon season coming up, sometimes the roads get to flooded (Tucson, AZ roads are falling apart and their flood control almost non-existent) to travel on. The woman said, you can refuse to sign the form. I said I will state on the form why I am not signing it. Then the other woman who was sitting next to her stated that Dr. Kirkland (Riverside Dental Dr.) no longer takes my insurance. I told her I made my appointment in March, why didn't someone call me. The woman had no answer. I then asked her, are you going to give me the $50.00 you would have charged me for my cancellation. Very unprofessional services. As I stated above, I drove almost 40 miles to get to their offices. I think they are disgusting people and would not want those kind of people working on my mouth. Beware. read more
