I was beyond impressed with her professionalism and kindness. She was honest, straightforward and did not cut any corners. It has been a long time since I've seen a Dr be so thorough. The receptionist was very kind and trust me some of the patients in the waiting room were not kind to her. I hope not to need urgent care, but if I do, this is my first choice. Dr. Mitchell is an excellent physician. Mary Pat was the medical assistant and she was kind and professional. Thank you to the whole staff for making me feel at ease.

While I was trying to leave I was having trouble with the double doors. One of the employees sees this, but she is too busy exchanging information and flirting with a patient who was also leaving. The two ladies at the front desk were in shock at how blind she was and they decided to nicely speak up for me. Instead of the employee in the doors helping me, she simply steps to the side and finishes her conversation with the patient. I get out of the doors and I see her hug the patient. My diagnosis was upper respiratory infection aka common cold. The cure is just to wait it out. I did however get a prescription for an oral anesthetic which helped relieve the annoying sore throat pain. The prescription was conveniently transmitted electronically to the adjoining CVS. The nurse practitioner did a quick test to rule out strep throat. I also conveniently got a seasonal flu shot. Their services are limited. But it was quick and convenient to have someone look at my throat.

When I finally got back to the room, I waited so long the lights went off twice..and I finally had to go find the Practioner on staff. I had several people who arrived after me go before me and when I asked about it, it was acknowledged I should have been next. I felt the staff minimized my concerns and I was made to feel like I was a burden. I ended up asking for a paper prescription to bring in because I wasn't confident it would get sent in electronically.

We came in to find that "they are running a 90 min wait time." Explained that we had an appointment, but that didn't matter, because it isn't an appointment apparently. You are entered into the same list as walk in patients when you arrive. The walk in clients were given the same wait time that was given to us. Why even offer scheduling if it isn't honored? If I knew this was operational procedure prior to arriving, I would have sought other options that are now closed on a Saturday afternoon. This leaves me with no choices other than the ER until Monday.

I had a great experience with Irene Torres. I got bit by a dog just above my lip. I had to get 7…read morestitches. I was very worried about getting them taken out because I know it can be very painful because I knew how tight the stitches were and how sensitive the area was. I went in to get them removed, and she told me originally to wait another day or two, but when I told her how concerned I was about who did it, she called me back to tell me that she had contacted the other NP that would be there that day to ask her how she felt about removing the stitches, and she didn't feel comfortable doing it. Irene researched the amount of time needed to leave the stitches in to make sure it would be ok to remove them that day, and said that I would be fine to come back that day while she was there. It showed how much she truly cares about her patients. She did an excellent job with the removal, and I had very little pain. I was so relieved to have them out, and it's still healing up nicely. Irene has years of experience, is very kind and does a great job. CVS is lucky to have her! Thanks again!
