I parked and went over to see why this station looked completely different from others. This station is the station that stops with in walking distance from the zoo so they zooed it up. The walkway has a cool sculpture of a mama and papa loin with a lion cub playing with papas tail. Each platform has a rock like structure with murals of wild animals in there natural habitat. Overall I thought this station was very cool and it seemed like something from a theme park right on a busy commuter suburban station.

The price is really good in my opinion. It's much more expensive to ride in Europe, and a lot less in China. Pay to Park outside, if you want to park and ride. This line goes along a beautiful landscaped and busy business district. The MacNeal Hospital, Loyola Medical Center is at this stop. So is the Tastee Corner Cafe. Delicious family style diner , with excellent food! Good value & up the street on Oak Park, South. Familia Fresh Market, excellent grocer. With a cafe. Also wonder parks to rest nearby: a laundromat just West of the stop. Beautiful homes and a lot to see here. Wonderful train station. Well maintained! Along the way back I felt like stopping at a local bar. It was a good choice. This is a pretty chill place. Has a pretty spacious interior. There's a few slots and plenty of TVs. Prices are good. They always have a few specials. Domestic beers were on special that night. It was $3 a bottle, and they had some other specials. Food is about what you expect. There's burgers, and shareables like the Pretzel. It's $8 for a big ass. The bread soaks up alcohol, so you can hang out here longer and knock back a few more. Good local hangout with better than expected food. It's a nice place if getting back from the zoo and looking for cheaper alternatives to the food they have. The beer is the main thing but try some food including those big ass pretzels.

The size of the airport is easy to navigate and less than an hour flight from my smaller local airport, which usually makes it an affordable option in comparison to Atlanta and New York. During my most recent trips, the airport terminals visited were usually Terminal 1 and 2. All of the elevators, escalators, and moving sidewalks were fully functional. I wish there were more food options during the longer layovers, but it wasn't a dealbreaker.

The good thing about O'Hare is that it is a major hub for flights, both domestic and international, since it sits in the middle of the country. Of course, getting to downtown Chicago or coming from there can be a challenge, depending on when you're traveling. The Chicago Thruway traffic can be a fright, where you will be on the road for anywhere from 50 minutes to 90 minutes. Coming from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, direct flights to Chicago are plentiful, so getting there is a breeze unless there's a blizzard or some other disastrous weather pattern that may lead to permanent doom. Fortunately, that wasn't the case on our flight earlier this month. Now, reaching the baggage claim can be a bit of a walk, and even more so if you don't know where to find the area to pick up your ride share. That can be incredibly confusing, since it's on the Departures level, not the Arrivals level. The food vendors are not that great if you are gluten-free, like my wife is. For me, I found a spot with Chicago dogs and deep dish, which I enjoyed one more time before boarding our flight back to Fort Lauderdale. For as large and important as O'Hare is as a hub, the terminals and gate seating areas are at least 20 years out of date. But it still works as a major airport, with flights going in and out at all hours of the day.
