Stopped in based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Yelp. Showed up around 7pm on a Sunday and it was near capacity but we were able to be seated right away. The dining room is fairly small with some bar seating available as well. It was clean and bright. It took about 7 mins for the server to come over and she lead with "are you ready to order?" I guess simple pleasantries are useless anyway. We knew our drinks and appetizers order but not what we wanted for pizza yet so we ordered those and told her we'd order pizzas when the apps and drinks came. She came back about 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order yet. Feeling pressured, we ordered thinking that perhaps they close soon (not the case). The bartender delivered our drinks a few minutes later and about 5 mins after that both the appetizers and pizza arrived at the same time. Besides the fact that our table wasn't large enough to accommodate all that food and drink, it was never our intention to eat our appetizers with our meal. The good news is that the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The potato bombs were excellent. Crispy home fry like potatoes and the peppers had a nice heat. I would love to try the popper version next time. The pizzas were good too, but be prepared for floppy and slightly under done base crust but a perfectly charred edge crust. I find many wood fired pizza to come this way but I did see other reviews mention this as a negative. The bill comes in a small ball jar with a delicious rice crispy treat. While the jar worked it must have made it hard to see that I dropped my credit card in it, so after the waitress walked by a few times I removed the card and made it visible on the table. When the tab came to sign I was not given a pen. I should have walked out and just let them charge me for just the tab but I cannot stiff waitstaff, even when it's poor service. My only hope is that it was the waitress's first day and she somehow figures out the typical cadence and procedure involved in waiting tables. Food was a solid 4 but service was a 2 so I landed on a 3. I would definitely go back hoping for a better server. read more

The fam wanted a bite to eat while in Boston. We walked about 10 minutes from our hotel and happened upon Stoked and it looked fun! It's not a large restaurant. It's decorated with old-school boomboxes on the wall and local paintings throughout. We're always in the mood for pizza. They weren't busy. We were able to snag a booth. This place is the bombity jams. It is SO GOOD. Hands down one of the best pizzas we've had in years- even the cold leftovers were jammin. The crust is clean and delicious- and NO SEED OILS! We went here on a Fri night during their peak dinner hour (bet. 6-7). They were packed, but likely due to many people ordering take out rather than dine in, the wait was only about 10-20 min. Most other places in the area had a 45 min minimum wait--we had walked over after leaving two other places with 45 min+ wait times. All of the people we interacted with here were very nice: hostess, waitress, bus service. They were a little slow taking our order, but hey they were super busy and they apologized. The food came out in a timely manner. We got a 12" pizza and salads. Their 12" is good for about 2 ppl who don't eat too much or 1 person who is really hungry. We are from out of town visiting family so we don't know how their pizza compares to elsewhere around here. It was a good pizza, but we can get way better from at least two local places and one chain back home. If anyone is familiar with the big chains Blaze pizza or Dominos, Stokes pizza is better than both of them--but pizza tastes vary. Their salads were also good. They only have ranch and vinaigrette dressing (I love thousand island, always disappointing when not available, but hey, ranch is a good back up) and you can add bacon, chicken, or shrimp to the salad. They also have various vegan options for salad and pizza. Their ambiance is that of a small family style or local restaurant and not upscale. So you would be comfortable coming here with friends and family for a casual night out or friends to sit and eat at their bar. We didn't get pics cause we were with family and were distracted. Local parking is metered street parking, which can be hard to find. To pay, download and use the "Passport" parking app and find the zone marked on the meter to enter into the app. Look at posted hours to see when the free period begins for your day of the week. We would recommend coming here if you are in the area and feel like pizza, want take out, or want to see if they have a shorter wait time than elsewhere near by. Yelp 4.5 average is about right as this is a 4-5 star restaurant based on food and service quality. read more

We got pizza from here at least four years ago when we first moved to Brookline and didn't really enjoy it then but figured we should probably try it again now that we are back in the area and felt like having some new pies... We didn't want to order the same old Otto's or Upper Crust Pizza. We decided to get the $19 Corn and Ricotta and the $19 Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and although they both had high quality ingredients with a solid amount of toppings, we did agree that neither of them tasted that interesting... They just seemed fresh but bland. That is, the corn was beautifully sweet and the blue cheese was clearly present on the Buffalo Chicken, but nothing really stood out for us. Also, the dough was pretty soft and floppy, even after we cooked it some more in our oven. The crust got burnt while the underside of the slices were still very soft and hard to pick up. Sadly, we won't be ordering anything else from Stoked Wood Fired Pizza, but do recognize that they do a wonderful business and that their pizzas are OK, but we look for something a bit more flavorful. read more
