I've seen this place talked about on social media for so long, so it's been on my list to try. Drinks- very limited beer menu. Bartender took some artistic liberties with our drinks which were a miss. For example, ordered a vesper and they didn't have lillet so subbed with elderflower liqueur rather than just making a regular gin martini, which is what I had requested if they didn't have lillet. Ordered the kale and apple salad- very missable and literally no dressing on it. Pizza- pizza was super small and not filling at all. We split a pepperoni pizza between two people and definitely should have gotten a second pizza. Pizza was nothing special. Overall, sadly didn't live up to the hype!

We dined at Si Cara this evening and we were served promptly and professionally by Eduardo. He gave stellar recommendations and kept us laughing the whole night. The pizza was airy, flavorful, and hands down the best spot for wood fired pizza. The team at Si Cara always does a good job at taking care of their customers!

I visited Si Cara last weekend with my boyfriend for date night and was so excited because it has a lot of hype on social media!! We started with some drinks, which were good but nothing outstanding. We shared the white bean dip, the prosciutto, the mushroom and guanciale pizza, and the apple salad. I will say I was a bit underwhelmed and felt that everything lacked a bit of flavor. The prosciutto was probably my favorite bite of the evening, and the flatbread that came with it was delicious! The crust on the pizza was the best part as everything else weighed the pie down significantly and it was pretty soggy. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but I was expecting to be blown away based on what I had seen online. Very cute spot in a great neighborhood with attentive service, but the food wasn't anything special in my opinion.

The restaurant was super busy but the servers at the front were super sweet and informative about wait times! Got seating at the bar; the server behind the bar wasn't very attentive and didn't check in often. Ambiance was nothing special but was a clean space. The drinks were sweet and had lots of flavor--9/10 for both! Point docked for them not being that out of the box and for weak alcohol taste. The food was underwhelming, but it's difficult to make pizza or meatballs stand out. 6/10 for the pizza (good texture, lacked flavor and complexity), 5/10 for the meatballs (texture was mid, cheese hardened quickly, sauce tasted close to straight tomato paste imo and had no complexity).

Really solid pizza with creative toppings and a nice chewy crust. Ordered for pickup and everything was really at the estimated time. The shrimp scampi pizza was definitely our favorite - it had a great garlic flavor and was balanced with the lemon juice on top! Prices are a bit high and I wish there were more toppings on the pizza but overall I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu!

Yeah, casual, fast, not too filling pizza that's just right. More Italian style than New York. You and your buddies will be excited about the roasted garlic olive oil and in house hot honey. Like I said, not super fancy, but again the staff attentive and food was great

    Fantastic Margherita pie!

We had a fantastic dinner at Si Cara. Started with the prosciutto and fried mozzarella appetizers--both were fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. Our table ordered a variety of mains: meatball calzone, mushroom pizza with a sunny-side-up egg, sorpressata pizza, and a classic margherita. Every dish was a hit. I asked to swap the chunky tomato sauce for marinara on my pizza--no problem at all--and it was absolutely delicious. To finish, we all had either an espresso or cappuccino, and they were excellent. Big shoutout to Carl, our waiter, who was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We walked to the establishment so I cannot speak to parking. If you like the review and/or the photos, please drop a comment, it goes a long way.

Great pizza, great vibes, would highly recommend. Appetizers were absolutely amazing- we got the mozzarella sticks, which were probably the best mozz sticks I've ever had, the garlic bread (scrumptious), clams, and meatballs. If you can, get all of them because I truly cannot decide which one was my favorite. For pizzas, we got the hot honey chicken, pepperoni, and mushrooms pizza. Hot honey chicken was definitely my favorite! Service was also amazing, our server very attentive and gave great recommendations and have a great sense of humor. Would definitely go back!

As soon as you walk in, the restaurant has a nice feel to it and it was busy on a Tuesday evening, which got me excited. The interior looks nice for a first date night spot or something, but that's really all there is to this place. In terms of food, it was just mediocre at best. First off, it was just way too hot in there for the amount of people seated. Our server was nice and friendly but after ordering our food and drinks, it took them about 15 minutes to come back to us to tell us that they forgot what our order was! The Sausage & Mushroom pizza was more mushroom than anything and the bread was not that great, also burnt. The snap pea salad was.... I don't even know how to describe it but I wouldn't get it again. Also, I don't know how this is considered a wine bar when you order a bottle and there are no wine glasses.... they give you a smaller water glass to drink your wine. This is a big no-no!!! To be quite frank, I probably won't be back. You're only paying high prices for ambiance and their rent.

The pizza was good but the price was not worth it. The tiramisu was fantastic though!

I rarely finish entire pizzas but here I for sure took down the entire pie shamelessly (okay fine, there was a bit of shame involved). This pizza has the fluffiest, most flavorful crust I have ever had with a perfect woodfired char. Conotto is now my new favorite style of crust. The pepperoni ($23) was divine. The Tahini ($21) was interesting... I'll say it needed a bit more oomph (I took it home and added hot honey) but was still good. I would say in between the two I'd pick the red sauce though. They even give you a little pot of garlic olive oil to dip the crust in. We ordered the white bean dip ($8) for extra dipping pleasure. Staff were nice, and the interior is sophisticated. The wall art is really minimalist, quirky, and cool.

Cosy chic casual dining in Central Square with counter and bar seating in the front of the restaurant, and a dining area in the back. Menu is not extensive but well curated with plenty of shareable appetizers and entrees to choose from. The fried mozzarella (triangle shaped, breaded and fried with a side of red sauce), eggplant parm (served with three small strips of focaccia on the side), and crispy Brussels sprouts (just the right amount of crunch with a touch of sweetness) are absolutely delicious. We ordered two pizzas to share- the Margherita was perfect, I wanted to like the lamb sausage more but the slight bitterness from the broccoli rabe marred it a bit for me (but the airily crunchy chickpeas were a nice surprise). Their homemade strawberry sorbet and affogato were a great end to the meal. Our server was attentive and accommodating and made good recommendations. Will come again!

    Squash blossom
    Rebecca D.

My family and I came here on a Sunday for lunch and tried two new-to-us pizzas, the squash blossom and the spanakopita. Both were very good! I especially loved the stracciatella cheese on the squash blossom - so rich and creamy. The squash blossom pizza was a little salty for my taste (and I am a salt lover) and it took quite a while for the pizzas to come out, but other than that, no complaints!

There were very few redeeming aspects to the meal, and we left feeling both disrespected and unsatisfied as customers. The issues started right away. We ordered drinks--including a pear mocktail--but were brought the wrong ones, and then they attempted to charge us for those incorrect drinks. In hindsight, the cocktail mix-up should have been a warning of what was to come. The pear mocktail itself was also quite bad. The service felt chaotic throughout the night. We asked multiple times for additional servings of steak and fries, but were largely ignored. Meanwhile, nearby large tables were repeatedly served, cleared out entire trays, and still received more attention from staff. For an all-you-can-eat steak frites offering, we each received only one serving despite several requests. As for the food itself, it did not make up for the service. The steak was just okay--some pieces were chewy and overly fatty, though acceptable if refills had actually been provided. The fries, however, were terrible. Our first serving was so hard it was nearly inedible, and the only refill we received was just as bad. I also ordered the spinach risotto, which was slightly better than the steak, but it was so salty I couldn't finish it. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

We walked into a warm, energetic space with dim lighting, an open dining room, and a constant buzz that makes it a great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The restaurant has a vibrant, social energy that encourages sharing and exploration, and the open layout adds to the sense of activity without feeling chaotic. Rather than ordering individual entrées, the experience is centered around sharing a variety of dishes, making each visit feel a little different depending on what you choose. The tapas are the highlight of the menu, with plenty of options that encourage trying a little bit of everything. The bacon-wrapped dates are one of the signature dishes, balancing sweet and savory flavors, while the patatas bravas, croquettes, and charcuterie boards are reliable choices to start the meal. If you are looking for something more substantial, the seafood paella and squid ink pasta stand out as excellent main dishes, offering rich flavors and generous portions that are easy to split between two or more people. The olive oil cake is also worth saving room for if you want to end the meal with dessert, and the overall progression of the meal works well with the tapas format. The drink menu is just as impressive as the food. Wine is the main focus, with an extensive list featuring Spanish and international selections, but the sangria and cocktails are equally popular. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours sharing plates while working your way through a few different drinks, and the beverage program is thoughtfully curated to match the style of the food. Service is one of the restaurant's strongest points. The staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and dishes arrive steadily throughout the meal instead of all at once, creating a relaxed dining pace. The pacing allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed, and the team checked in at the right moments without hovering. The restaurant is consistently busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, there can occasionally be a short wait, and the lively atmosphere means the dining room can get quite loud during peak hours. The energy of the room is part of what makes the experience work, but it is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quieter dinner. Barcelona Wine Bar is one of the best places in Boston for Spanish-inspired tapas and wine. The combination of flavorful shareable dishes, a well-curated drink menu, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere makes it an easy choice for group dinners, celebrations, or date nights. It offers a meal that feels both communal and polished, with a setting that encourages slowing down and enjoying the evening. Just be prepared for the energetic environment and plan ahead if you are visiting during the busiest times.

The prosciutto slices were perfectly salty, rich in fat, and smooth, wrapped around the refreshing sweetness of kumquats, the delicate creaminess of stracciatella cheese, the crunch and nutty aroma of pistachios, and topped with a smoky touch of sumac powder. It had a rich and distinct flavor profile while offering a gentle and comfortable taste. Spaghetti: The refreshing lemon and basil paired with the umami crab meat is a classic combination. Chili oil added a touch of spice and aroma, while pea tendrils provided a light herbal fragrance. The sauce was emulsified very smoothly, making it both rich and palatable, although the spaghetti itself didn't leave a particularly strong impression. Half Chicken Milanese: A large portion, perfect as a main course to share. The chicken cutlet was thick, fried to a fragrant perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Wrapped in lettuce and eaten with mayonnaise, it brought back memories of the fast food stalls outside my school when I was a child. This was my first time trying rhubarb stems. The tangy and refreshing taste cut through the richness, and the texture was like softer celery and firmer green bell peppers - quite interesting. Duck Bacon Pizza: The most highly rated pizza online, and it was truly delicious! The rich, savory flavor of the duck bacon, the succulent richness of the shimeji mushrooms, and the mellow sweetness of the caramelized onions, combined with the creamy cheese base, made it a calorie bomb, but I still felt it was the right choice. Unfortunately, the crust was a bit hard, making it difficult to cut with a knife. Cotechino Pizza: This was my first time trying a pizza with sweet potatoes, and I couldn't help but admire their innovation. The colors were vibrant, and the sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired with the smoky aroma of Cotechino sausage bits created a full yet harmonious flavor, evoking the feeling of being in the southern Italian countryside in early autumn, basking in the bright sunshine and the satisfaction of a bountiful harvest. The restaurant offered menus printed with "Happy Birthday," and the waiters provided professional cake-cutting service. Overall, a very comfortable experience.
