During a business trip I was told by local residents that this was the place to go for crab cakes. I'm no expert on crab cakes but the one I had was delicious. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter (1/2 crab cake, 5 butterflied shrimp, fries and Flounder scallops)- it was so much food I had shrimp and fries left over for a second meal. I ate the crab stuffed shrimp with breadsticks and salad. My food was made to order, ready in 15 min and served on disposable dinnerware. Their prices suggest that they would use real plates & silverware for dine in. The portions may be a little bit larger than average. I'm not sure what to think about the stuffed crab that I ordered. It tastes like the shrimp wasn't seasoned before the crab meat was put on top of it. The crab cake had large lumps in it. Also, there were some small pieces of crab shell in the crab cake. I usually don't put lots of sauces on my crab cake, so if you do, then maybe you will not notice the lack of spices in this dish. Overall, it was a nice place to eat lunch at, but it fell short of my expectations, especially since the customer that was leaving as I entered told me that they have "the best crabcakes." I was introduced to Riverside a few years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. They're best known for their crab cakes. Actually, the owners of Riverside also own Boxhill Pizzeria in Abingdon, also well known for its crab cakes. But the rest of their food is just as good! Their subs are great (try the marinated grilled chicken sub - AMAZING!), their desserts are delectable, and the service is always good. Nice people, prompt service, they deliver in a timely manner. I got the 16" Riverside, their 'Supreme'. I am new to the area and got pizza at a couple different places and so far this place is my favorite. Got the Riverside a couple times now and I've noticed a little inconsistency between every order and that tells me it is real food made by human hands. I visited this Pizzeria as I was trying to avoid the run of the mill pizza and wings from the Pizza Hut across the street. I got a cheese pizza and old bay wings, and both were lacking in the flavor department. The pizza reminded me of the cardboard pizza served in a middle school cafeteria, and the wings were fried way too hard, to the point where the meat was crispy. There wasn't enough old bay seasoning on the wings to identify that they were old bay wings. I wish I would have opened the wing container before I left, because I would have definitely told them they could keep those wings and just give me a refund. The service was decent enough, thats why they get 2 stars instead of the 1 star their food deserves. I would not be able to recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

It's basically cafeteria food. Everything seems to lack flavor and quality. The only thing I could taste on a cheesesteak was the LETTUCE!

I went here twice just to make sure that I didn't get a bad pizza cook, and sadly for me it was just bad pizza not a bad pizza cook. This has to take the prize as the worst pizza I've had outside of my college's roach coach! It was swimming in grease, the pie wasn't cut all the way so you didn't get a slice so much as half a pie, and did I mention it was greasy! I got a 12-inch pepperoni pie and I used 8 napkins to soak the grease off the top of the pizza before I could bring my self to eating a slice. Of course there was nothing to be done about the mounds of grease that was hiding under the pizza. There was also a clear lack of taste. Pepperoni and cheese is a rather simple combination, but it looked like they were using a yellow cheese (maybe it was the grease) that just didn't have the flavor of a good pizza cheese mix. I went back the second time really hoping that this was just a problem with the cook, but sadly it wasn't. If you like your pizza swimming in grease and lacking taste then this is your place, but if you are like me, drive the 20 minutes to Havre de Grace and go to Season's Pizza. read more

I've been here a few times to satisfy a quick lunch after seeing that Cracker Barrel was packed with the normal flow of I-95 travelers seeking the same thing. The lunch special here is quite robust - a regular sub, fries and drink for less than $9. Now, for most, a regular sub would be the Subway 6" sub. Wrong. These subs are about 9" and quite packed with goodies. The two subs I've had were the cheese steak and Italian sub. Both left me full and unable to finish all of the bread and fries. The pizza isn't abd either - baked and reheated like a typical NY style pizzeria, Riverside does it right and doesn't disappoint. I went back here the other day, and got *gasp* another salad. I was there at lunch time on a week day, and the salads looked much better, so I ordered one, and it was good! I also had a gyro, which was delicious, and shared an order of mozzarella sticks, which were passable. They served the sauce with the mozzarella sticks cold. I do not understand this. Ordered $99 in food ( because they added 2 things to my order that I did not ask for). Once food arrived I got a call from their driver saying nobody answered... I have a very loud doorbell. After spending another 45 minutes on the phone discussing what can be done about it they decided to send me the cheesecakes which she added the charge for on the receipt and then only took $10 off the order. The place isn't fancy by any means, and seems like it needs some upgrades to the facilities and decor. The employees were nice, and food was served fast. I've been coming here for years. The items on the menu that I recommend are the crab cakes which are pretty good, the cream of crab soup, and my most recent sandwich the BLT. The crab cakes are good. I've had better and I've definitely had worse. I will say they are I believe the best in the area. The cream of crab soup has obvious lumps of crab meat and is so creamy. I will say that the best cup comes when the pot is almost empty. You get soooo much crab. The BLT had so much crispy bacon I was surprised. I remember going here like years ago and this place had some of the best food ever!. Now recently FEB 2019, I ordered chicken wings and they were disgusting! The chicken smelled and no seasoning at all. Yhe meat was white in some areas and the bones dark brown just not fresh at all. We stumbled upon this gem while traveling. We exited 95 thinking we'd grab a quick sandwich at a national sub chain. Instead, we wandered into Riverside Pizzeria, where I had maybe the best eggplant parmigiana sandwich ever. The eggplant was amazing ... thinly sliced, sweet, mild, smooth with just enough batter to hold its shape without overpowering the eggplant. The sauce had just the right blend of seasoning to give it flavor without detracting from the eggplant. I wasn't really craving bread or fries, but I polished off my plate. That's how amazing this sandwich and the crispy fries were. My only regret is that I live 500 miles from here. Otherwise, the friendly staff plus the amazing food would make this my new go-to happy place.
