Located in the east side of Riverside, Hangar 18 is situated in the industrial area. You'll have to drive towards the back, where there are rows of parking. As a gym member, I look for a variety of fun problems regardless of height and finding new projects that intrigue me. If you're a beginner or still learning new techniques, you'd definitely enjoy this gym. There were plenty of v0 - v3 problems here; my fiancé loved it because that's his grade level. On the day I went, there were hardly v4-v5 problems. Of course, they change the walls and rotate it often. I did like the upstairs area of a whole gym and having a warm up area. Super neat gym and friendly staff, too. I'd say, great Hangar 18 gym! I wouldn't mind coming back from time to time.

Jared was a wonderfully attentive Professional Guardian and added a lot of cozy and inclusive Creatively Enriching Vibrations to the Cave as well! Jared was fun to chop up Smart Meeting Principles and celebrate interesting Climber Gifts with, and I liked how he was modeling the latest Hangar Merch at work. Jared was thoroughly knowledgeable and informative about Hangar's Community Culture which I find so refreshing! I have a lot of Coworkers who attend CBU and am excited to share with them how Hangar invites local Students to take a break from their Mental Stresses and move their Bodies in a fun and creatively satisfying way in the Climbing Gym! Located in Riverside, this Hangar 18 has plenty of top rope and belay projects for fans to do. Parking is located in the front and toward the sides of the gym. There are two different doors you can enter from. The main door to scan for membership will be towards the sides with the gated parking spots. It was extremely hot and there isn't AC blasting in the climbing section. AC is available in the changing area and restrooms. There's also a lounging area, which is very unique. There was plenty of routes for climbers of all different types. As a fan of the slab wall, there wasn't much for me to do. In comparison to my home gym, we aren't allowed to sit on the mats at this location nor could we have our drinks on it. So do be mindful. Other than that, it was a unique experience, but I prefer my main location more.

Parking is not the best especially during peak hours; I find myself parking inside the residential areas just to come to gym. They have auto belay, a top out area, and a very large bouldering section. They don't have a super long slab wall, but they do have a wide variety of problems and types of boulder holds. As an avid v4 climber, I think the routes here a fairly easy for my grade, yet the problems are very fun in itself. The interior is very clean and the workers are diligently checking the gym, restocking, and cleaning restrooms. They have merchandise for purchase, too. On very busy days, the students from the colleges are here to climb. I'd avoid climbing in weekdays after 3 PM if you want more time on the wall without competition. Other than that, it is a nice gym with nice workers.

It just happened that I started working around the area and I was honored a one week free membership. Lucas was absolutely amazing and seeing all the improvements from before was definitely awesome to see. I just wished that I had more time, but I'm glad I got to come in for a quick lunch session. The only thing may be that the other kids were more daring and advanced so they cycled through everything quickly while my kid took a long time working up the courage and solving problems on certain walls. Some kids seemed impatient for her to get off so they could go. But that's not the fault of this place, really. Could also have been a one-off experience. We look forward to coming back here

There were actually staff available to help out, and the vibe was just so much better. It did take a bit for folks to get started with the harnesses and helmets, so the kids didn't have as much time to climb, which was a bit of a bummer because it took them a bit to warm up and gain some confidence with climbing! Sender City is pretty awesome and the self-belay system is pretty cool too.

They offer both top-rope climbing and bouldering, and both require an orientation--which I appreciated as a first-timer. I was surprised by how many people were bouldering, from novices to very experienced climbers. There's also a small gym with basic equipment. Overall, it was a fun, spontaneous activity for a random free day--kind of like bowling, but more physical and engaging. Definitely requires some strength and problem-solving. Would absolutely come back!
