An email reminder prompting me for more business, reminded me i needed to do a review and warn others. Could do so much better by- Not rip customers off on FACTORY recalls. Charged me over a grand on a failed part that needed to be replaced with a stronger one, yet would not accept the (cost) recall on it. -Use some gloves or cleanup after yourselves when servicing with chemicals and/or fuel. My interior was ruined and reeked of diesel fuel after a service. -Hire better employees if you are going to going to openly discredit them to your customers. TWO THUMBS DOWN. If a negative star was an option I would have chosen it. Last week, I had an appointment for a technician to inspect my passenger side mirror. I had an incident with a mailbox. There was no body damage to the vehicle or my mirror but the reflective part came loose during the impact. The mirror itself was not broken and was still wired to the casing/molding part, but was loose. It looked like the mirror could be popped back into the case. I taped the mirror to the case in order to drive until I could get an appointment with this dealership. I waited 40 minutes to be told that they could not pop it back in place because a piece was broken off. They said the entire side mirror had to be replaced to the tune of $800 plus dollars. I thanked them and declined ordering the part as I wanted to discuss with my husband. Once I returned home, I suspected the mirror had not been inspected as it appeared the tape had not even been disturbed much less removed and replaced. Well, my husband recently returned home. He removed the tape and was able to pop the mirror back into the case. It took him less than 5 minutes to pop it back into place as no parts were broken. Less than 5 minutes and it didn't cost one penny! Needless to say, I will not be returning to this place for any assistance. Oh and I must add I actually bought my van from this establishment which I can confidently say will not happened again. Consumers beware!! read more

I bought a used car from this dealership and the buying experience was very adversarial. After much back and forth I got a price that I was satisfied with but it took over a week before the dealership agreed to a fair price. The car itself does not have any significant issues at this time but I did have to replace the tires already. My biggest complain is that the dealership had my license plates for 3 weeks before getting them to me. They lied when I called and told me they had already mailed them but when I finally received them the postage date was the date that I called to ask where my license plates were. Professionalism is not what this dealership is about. On a bright note my salesman and the sales assistant was at least courteous and did his and her best to work with the otherwise rude and unprofessional staff. read more

In June, I bought a brand new Dodge Charger R/T. I have never been a Dodge person per se; however our business involves the upfitting of police & emergency vehicles. Because of this, I had the opportunity to test drive one of the police package Chargers, and then subsequently decided to begin to look for one of my own. Living in North Carolina, this past month was the first month that I have had to use the heat function. The Charger as you are aware is outfitted with the driver/passenger dual climate control. My settings are set to 'sync' so that they are the same all the time. When using the heat for the first time, I noticed a cool draft coming from somewhere. I thought this odd, but after putting my hands in front of all the vents, I noticed that the air coming from the passenger side was substantially cooler than the air coming from the driver's side vents. Obviously I am distressed because this is a brand new car that I have paid a lot of hard earned money for; however it is under warranty and I am hopeful that the service department has a solution. We did NOT purchase the car from Riverside Dodge in New Bern, NC, however New Bern is the closest dealership to our home for service. When we finally get an appointment at Riverside Dodge in New Bern, NC, a service tech comes out - puts his hands in front of the vents just as we had done and agrees that there is a substantial difference. We leave the car to be looked at and I hope for the best. At the end of the day, we get a call from an uninterested, lackadaisical service manager that tells us that there is "only a 3.5 degree difference in the temperature on the passenger side" and then adds "we pulled a brand new one in off the lot and it is doing the same thing so there is nothing wrong." This is apparently just how Dodge products work. I have several problems with this. There was more than a 3.5 degree change; otherwise I would not have felt a draft while simply driving my car. I also suggest that if you can put your hands in front of the two vents and tell a substantial difference - there is a problem. This can't be "just how Dodge products work". Secondly - where is the customer service? Is this really how you train your service departments to treat customers after they have laid down well over $30K for an investment in your products? I would think you would make even more money after the sale by making a customer happy to come back to a service department for oil changes and other tasks that have to be done over the life of a car. I would be much happier today had I been told; "Ms. White, we understand there is a problem, we feel the temperature difference too. We have checked for recalls and there are none, but rest assured we want you to be happy and we will look into this and find out if we can get this fixed to your satisfaction. Please stick with us and we will try to fix it for you." Seriously - you could have kept me happy for YEARS with that explanation. But to be told that there is nothing wrong (When there SO OBVIOUSLY is) and to be blown off as if my business and my money doesn't matter has created a very unsatisfactory situation for me. I am torn between being angry about being treated like an afterthought and doing the right thing for myself. I do plan to check with another, larger and less hillbilly Dodge dealership so that maybe I can get better customer satisfaction. Up until now, I have liked the car. However if the service department at Riverside Dodge in New Bern, NC is any indication - I will not be keeping any sort of Dodge product for long. If I do get a better answer from another dealership, rest assured I will follow up and let you know and give the proper accolades to the right people. However, because of the extremely pathetic customer service I have been exposed to so far, I do not have high hopes of this problem getting fixed. I am also looking into trading it for anything else right now. I no longer want a Dodge product because such a poor taste has been put in my mouth. Your service department in New Bern needs to learn what customer service is and how to actually keep customers coming back. All they have done now is ensure that I wouldn't buy a Dodge keychain if I had the opportunity. I understand that like your service department, you may not care about one person and what he or she thinks; however do know that all the police departments that our company services buy police cars every year. They all know what I recently bought, and they will all notice shortly that I no longer have it. When they ask why, I will certainly tell them that they are better off buying Ford Interceptors or Chevrolet Caprices for their fleet needs. read more

Do your research! Made that mistake even though I'd like to think I knew better. Bought 2 vehicles. And over paid by over 5k each. Now stuck with vehicles that aren't even worth close to what I paid. Totally my fault. But when you are told to stay away from dealerships located near military installations.. they are referring to Riverside. My (soon to be ex) wife tried purchasing a vehicle alone, and the dealer was putting all my information on the sale, without me even being there. Then proceed to tell her it was just procedure. When I called, I was told that they were putting the vehicle in my name. I put a stop to it immediately. They must have been ready to start forging signatures, due to the fact that I wasn't even in the same state at the time. Do yourself a favor and take a road trip towards Raleigh to buy a vehicle. Don't trust dealerships who make their living off dumb Marines and their dependapotamus'. Plus after you leave, the friendly staff will still call your wife and see how things are going. I recently purchased a used Audi Q5 from Riverside. Unlike the other reviews I saw, it was a pretty painless process. My salesman, Lee, was awesome! I recommend him if you're looking to buy a vehicle from Riverside. He did everything he could to make the process painless. I didn't lose anytime from work as he worked past normal hours & even came in on his day off to take care of any concerns/questions I may have had. The Finance man, Jason, was great, too! I didn't have to wait long on getting to the price that made me comfortable & waiting to get into Finance was less than half an hour (due to another customer already being in there). There was a busted fog light on the front of the vehicle that they replaced (approximate $300 cost). They also took it to Joe Pecheles Audi in Greenville to get three recalls taken care of. I didn't have to take off from work, they took care of everything. You have to know what you want and be willing to give & take - it goes both ways.
