I took my car there for a airbag recall, when I got my car back, none of my speakers worked. I called them twice to get them to fix it because clearly they had broken it but they insisted they had nothing to do with it and weren't interested in fixing it. I was listening to my radio on the way to the dealership but it suddenly doesn't work after they do work on it. It is pretty obvious that they did something wrong but won't own up to it. read more

I went in to look at a used car on the lot. After telling the salesperson what I wanted to look at he nodded and said he would be right back. I walked out into the side of the lot to see if I could see the particular car to no avail. I walked back inside and when I questioned the salesperson to at least point me in the right direction as I had been waiting about 10 minutes at that time. Still no dice. Another salesperson (the general manager) approached me and because I was a bit impatient after the wait he accused me of being rude to his salesperson. After a back and forth with this "general manager" I told him that I was a very qualified buyer and then he proceeded to tell me he was worth over a million dollars! I rather doubt it because of his youth but his utter arrogance was a real eye-opener for me. What happened to the days when the customer was always right? This particular person must have been a relative of the owner because he really did not have many people skills. Because of him, I would have to cross Honda off of my perspective list of cars to buy at least in New Bern. Yes, the staff is listed on Pecheles' website. read more

My son bought a 2020 Civic Sport here May 2022. In less than 5 months, body parts were literally melting. The car is black. The weather was mild in November. After taking the car back to the dealer, the service manager took pictures of the areas where the damages were done both front and back. He said he'd get back to me. A few days went by and no reply, so I called the dealer. The service manager said Honda will pay for the replacement parts but an estimate would be needed. The estimate was performed by they're only authorized collision repair company Caliber Collision for $2100 in damages. The estimate was given back to the Service manager. Two weeks go by and again I have to call the service manager to find out what's going on. The service manager says Honda will only pay for $700 worth of damages. During January 2023 another area melts. Yes, and another estimate I'd performed. Over $4000.00 worth of melted body parts now with labor. We had to go though Honda USA to get further claim damage. Honda offered $1000. Buyer beware. The dealer offers a bumper to bumper warrantee on their used Certified vehicles still in Manufacture Warrantee, just not their cheaply made vinyl plastic parts that melt from supposedly reflective glass. Yes, they claim it's from reflected glass heat. I own a Toyota, never had a plastic body part melt in 7 years. Our next step is the NC Attorney Generals office and small claims court if need be. Don't be fooled by the dealer or Honda. They got their sale. read more

UPDATE: After a year (5 visits) I am absolutely amazed at the level of service I continue to receive from the service department! On my most recent visit I saw Brian Franks, and once again I received beyond exceptional service! It takes over an hour to drive to the dealership, an an hour to get back, but it's well worth it for the experience. There's another Honda dealership near me that's just a 5 minute drive from my house, but the service I get at Pecheles Honda is worth the extra 2 hours! My son had just left Navy boot camp and was looking for a used Honda, and I was also in the market for a new Civic. My son had checked several dealerships just wanting to test drive a used Civic, and he had a tough time finding one. Even though it was an hour away, I suggested he try Pecheles in New Bern because it's a Honda dealership (and we had an issue with the dealership in Greenville). My son went down and spoke with Joel Blizzard, and not only did they have a used Civic for him to test drive, he was treated like he was a real customer and not just some kid wasting his time. Joel spent a couple hours working with him, and he wound up buying a 2013 Civic for a great price, and even better financing! Because of how well Joel treated my son, I went down and talked to him about getting a new car for myself. I was very specific in what I was looking for, a 2016 Honda Civic Touring in Aegean Blue. When I came down and spoke with Joel, he was extremely helpful, and was doing everything he could to make sure I had a great experience. In fact everyone at this dealership was! Once we had everything worked out (and at an amazing price!) Joel did the hard work of finding (because of the specific requirements I wanted) the exact car I was looking for, having it transferred to the dealership, and even offered to drive it to my house! Now the second part of my review has to do with Chris Carmichael and Courtney Dixon in the service department, and the excellent service they have provided. Chris is the service manager, and Courtney is the advisor that has helped me whenever I have been down here. Courtney takes the time to make sure all of your needs/concerns are addressed, and listens to everything you have to say. I feel that if come down here for service, everything will be 100% taken care of, and I will be treated in the best possible way. The president of the dealership even reached out to me after I had sent an email about the excellent service I received to thank me for letting him know. This has been a wonderful experience all around, and it's no wonder their motto is "Making Customers For Life". And if it's not, it definitely should be! read more

I was a customer since 2010, 12 years until last year. Service was good on my Honda Insight Hybrids, all 3 I purchased there over that period. Last year I needed to change to a Honda Odyssey Minivan. COVID-19 changed the way car dealers stock their lots. I was unable to purchase a new van unless I paid a deposit to have one shipped to the dealership. With none on the lot to test-drive, I went looking. I ended up with another dealership in North Carolina. Purchasing an Odyssey was to handle the addition to my life, a Great Dane service dog. Getting my needs met pushed me to go elsewhere because I had to insure he would be happy in a new vehicle. He filled up my back seat in the hybrid. I am grateful to staff who did more than the minimum. It is with sadness I let go our relationship. We can blame COVID for this. This was an unsatisfactory experience a received from this dealership due to a few of the workers i delt with. They have some good employees that i worked with in the past. After my visit with this dealership, the owner contacted me and appologize for the miscommunication that was given during my visit with the sales manager and the sales representative. He informed me that this would be taken care of. A owner that takes this much pride in his bussiness is above reproach. If he feels that you are being mistreated or uninformed in anyway, he will try to fix the issue. read more

Beware of their service department!! I have taken my wife's 2012 Honda Odyssey to Pecheles Honda for all our service needs for the past 3+ years. In the past month they have completely lost my trust and my future business. A few weeks ago we brought our van in for a routine oil change and went ahead with the recommended rear brake pad change. Immediately upon leaving Honda I realized the brakes felt soft and required more effort to apply the brakes then they had before. Also on my drive home, I went to use the windshield washer fluid while driving and it sprayed momentarily and then stopped due to it being empty! Once I was home I popped the hood to investigate why the fluid stopped. Not only was the windshield washer fluid EMPTY, the coolant reservoir was empty as well as the radiator itself! Multi point inspection and fluid top offs are annotated as being done at every routine maintenance visit. This is not being done at Pecheles Honda! It does not end there though, the car was taken back and fluid were topped off and brakes were bled. The very next week the car was returned to Pecheles Honda department for the a/c blowing warm and a front axle seal being recommended to replace by the service tech at the previous visit. Pecheles immediately serviced the AC as a shotgun troubleshooting technique which cost $140 and did not fix the problem! When I picked up the car I found the ac still blowing hot. I immediately asked that the service manager come sit in the vehicle with me to see for himself. After 10 minutes of the service manager trying to Justify the ac as being OK... he finally concurred with me that it was not right or fixed. I received no update on the vehicle that day or the next. The third day I call them for an update and I am told that it was fixed the day before and they were keeping it for testing purposes. An hour after I made the call I receive a call from the service manager at Pecheles. He assured me the car is fixed and that he has made everything right by not charging me for the fix they most recently did. I questioned him as too why I wasn't receiving a refund for the Ac refrigerant service that was done and didn't fix anything. He reluctantly refunded this service. The service he was so eager TO cover was a $26 AC Clutch relay. To end this incredibly messed up month of service with Pecheles the AC is STILL NOT FIXED!!! The car will now be driven further to another Honda service department so we regain our trust in how our vehicle is being maintained. Short version: beware of Pecheles service department. There technicians constantly miss steps as simple as not topping of fluids at your routine maintenance visits and the service associates, service manager, and OWNER are money hungry liars that would have easily scammed my wife out of a serviceable reliable car by not maintaining it properly and taken every dime she had if I were to have been deployed during this time period. Shame on Pecheles Honda for treating loyal customers this poorly. A change needs to be made in this service department. read more

Went with my 18 YO daughter to buy her first car. She was looking for a new CRV. She took the lead in the process as she was the one paying for the car. My husband and I were witness to her being subjected to bullying strategies and repeated high pressure sales tactics (with the same key sales mantras repeated over and over). Steve the " sales manager" was disrespectful and not knowledgeable of her plans and agreements made with the salesperson/general manager. He asked her why she was being "so difficult" when she stated she was not agreeing to his monetary demands (as she had made more beneficial arrangements with the salesperson/general manager.) He called her at work not 5 minutes after she proclaimed that she was unable to speak to him while she was working. Her trade in was mocked by an unrelated salesperson. She is a young person who was willing to spend over $30,000 on her FIRST car. A good experience would have made Pechcheles a life long customer. Sadly, this was NOT the case. read more

I go to dealers for work done to avoid scammy maintenance practices. Unfortunately, this was my exact experience. I brought in my car for a multipoint inspection as I suspected my engine coolant was leaking. I was told by the employee that my car looked great and there were absolutely no issues. I paid $280.54 this trip. Literally one week later my engine is completely out of coolant and I have to bring it back. I get told by Courtney over the phone that he'll give me a deal and it'll be a hundred dollars. I repeat back, "only a hundred, yeah no problem." When I show up to get my car the bill is $400 and he claims over the phone that's what he said. There are so many issues with this visit: 1) The maintenance team clearly did not check my fluids for leaks as they claimed or they would have immediately noticed the leak. 2) I was told inaccurate pricing information (I am working on getting the phone transcripts right now and will post them if Walmart mobile approves my request). 3) I paid over $600 total and my car is still leaking coolant. For consolation, Courtney only had this to say "I didn't do this to your car." Terrible experience and will be following up with complaints. read more

My husband and I currently own four Hondas we have purchased at this dealership in the last three years. Everything has been great until today's encounter with the service department. Dropped my 2015 Honda Accord off for an inspection, oil change and tire rotation. Received a call the car would not pass inspection without a new set of tires and windshield wipers. I do not believe I need either so I asked the inspection not be done. Got a long story about how they could be liable for letting me drive away in a car that didn't pass inspection. I asked they just do the oil change and I would take care of the rest. I was told once it was taken it the inspection had to be done, it would be failed. When I get there to pick up my car I had been charged 19.95 for a tire rotation (even though the tires aren't "safe") and 23.75 for a failed state inspection. I was begrudgingly given a refund for the tire rotation. So Pecheles Honda, please enjoy that 23.75 because you have lost my trust and a customer read more

I took my Honda Pilot in to get an engine warning light checked. At the time I was here on a short visit so it was obvious by my Maryland tags I was not a local customer. The service department was exceptional. They took me in tight away, gave me an honest report and a very reasonable bill. They did not know I was moving here. They could have easily made up some costly repairs. I have since been back to them for service and troubleshooting and have not been disappointed yet. When I buy a new vehicle it will be from this dealer. All my other cars will be serviced by them as well. Honesty in the car business - it does exist. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped in to look at a few vehicles we saw on their site but they didn't have prices posted for the used cars. This should have been the first sign not to shop with this dealership. So when we get there we hadn't even gotten out of the car when a salesperson was standing outside our car doors (another sign we should have left). Before we even were able to walk around the lot the salesman coerced us into going into the showroom and attempting to attain our personal information at which point we explained we were on a time crunch because it was my girlfriends lunch break. The salesman seemed very slow and almost asleep while talking to us again we told him we were on a time crunch and to please allow us to see the vehicles we wanted to see. He finally went to locate the keys and the vehicles, we walked outside checked out the cars, test drove one, came back, and went inside the dealership. Still at this point we do not know the price of the used car we were looking at. So he finally now about 30 min in to our visit the salesman gets the price on the car, we say that the price is way over market value, we felt insulted and were about to leave at which time the salesman goes to get the sales manager. The sales manager came to speak to us and asked us what we would want to pay for the car and after we had done research and looked at other dealerships we felt confident in the price we offered. The sales manager states that he personally prices the vehicles, our research was incorrect, and even when he went back and researched his own price he was off by $1,800 over the book price, and then he began to get blatantly irritated and angry at which time we said thank you for your time and proceeded to leave. We will not being doing business there any time soon. read more
