I used Riverside Bark for over 7 years to walk my rescue pit who just went to Doggie Heaven last month. The team was great and reliable. Grant it, there were one or two "hiccups" with unreliable employees (which is always an issue with any company) but management was quick and responsive and made sure my dog was in good care. But my fur baby wasn't only in good care, she was in great care. When I traveled and needed overnight stays, the staff spent so much time in my apartment. I assured the younger ones that they could go out at night, but they insisted on staying with my dog. They absolutely spoiled her with love and attention. My dog had behavioral issues in the beginning as she was a rescue, and they handled them beautifully. Towards the end they were very caring and understanding when my dog's health deteriorated. I am not ready to adopt again, but when I do, I will not hesitate to use their services again. read more

And I am pretty dang proud of it. I found out about Riverside Bark almost by accident. They were just growing in the neighborhood, and I became quick friends of theirs. Of course, within a few months I found out my cat, Cassie, was diabetic and would require insulin shots twice a day. I knew that I could no longer rely on my good friend who just enjoyed visiting the cats while I was away, but I needed professional help to not only visit Cassie and my other cat, Napoleon Dynamite, on a schedule, yet also feel comfortable with letting someone in my home twice a day, and to trust those people. I give Riverside Bark a five star rating. I constantly got updates while I was on a trip to the Pacific Northwest, like clockwork. When the sitter had some troubles with Cassie (she gets a little anxious and scared, and doesn't let people around her), he called me immediately, put me on FaceTime so I could try talking to her! Anyone else I'm sure would think I was crazy...but my baby needed her mama! Within the day, she came around, and fell in love with Beau, who is not only amazing with dogs, he took such good care of my baby kitties...In fact, I think they were disappointed I came home!! When we were living in Brooklyn, I was introduced to Prospect Bark (the Brooklyn mother company) by a coworker. My furson Mandu and I instantly felt a connection with Chun-Soon the owner, Lindsay & Beth, the walkers. These three women are the nicest, the sweetest and the most trust worthy people you will ever meet, and with a safe assumption I can say everyone in the Prospect/Riverside Bark team is probably the same type of genuine, animal loving people. We moved to the UWS just recently and when I learned about the new Riverside Bark branch I was so so elated and relieved. The transition happened quickly and seamlessly. Chun-Soon and Beau came to our new apartment for a meet and greet and Mandu's adventures with Beau started right away. Beau has been just awesome! He is always on time and spends extra time to play with Mandu after walks. He always refills his water and has been very accommodating with my anal requests! He is always responsive and super responsible. My favorite part of their service is that they are NOT the kind of walkers who walk a dozen dogs at a time. Beau usually walks Mandu alone and gives him 100% of his attention. In Brooklyn Mandu was walked alone most days and some days with his first girlfriend Addy (a golden who is triple his size). My dog Mowgli has been cared for by the team at RiversideBArk (and before that, ProspectBArk) for four years and counting. I count myself lucky that they were the first company we stumbled on when we moved to New York. Krystal, Chun-Soon and Taryn are unfailingly kind. They send text and photo updates after every walk, are easy to reach whenever we need to schedule services, and are attentive to any changes in our dog's behavior that happen to come up. They're also heroes during a crisis. Last year, Mowgli was attacked by a dog that happened to be off leash. The Riverside team immediately rushed Mowgli to the veterinarian, stayed with him until I could get to the hospital from work, mediated with the owner of the dog that bit him and checked in on him in the weeks afterward. They made a nightmare situation that much easier to deal with. I couldn't be more grateful that Mowgli was in their hands. We have two sweet, elderly cats with health issues (one is diabetic, the other is hyperthyroid). So when we go away, we need to know that they're in safe hands and receiving skilled care from people who are expert at insulin injections and pilling. We've used Riverside Bark four times in the past 18 months, and had several caregivers, all of whom have been excellent. Taryn, our most frequent caregiver, takes care of our cats as if they were her own. Like a lot of cat people, we can be a bit over-the-top: Each time we go away, we leave a 3-page single-spaced memo covering meds, dietary needs, personality quirks, vet, and a zillion other things. And the Riverside Bark caregivers have always managed to follow our instructions. They also take excellent care of the humans, too: Twice a day we receive a thoughtful, detailed, and LITERATE (which matters a lot to me) email update -- with photos! -- on how our cats are doing. Preston is the best! I adopted my sweet girl (Zizou) in January. She's an older girl and showed clear signs of abuse. The team at Riverside Bark were able to meet with me on a Sunday afternoon, just about an hour after I brought her home. Zizou was terrified at first, because, as I learned, she has a fear of men. She was really scared at first but Preston was very kind and patient with her. Soon they became good friends and I know Zizou looks forward to her visits from Preston. If I know I'm going to be away for a long day, Preston is great about day sitting. It gives me such great peace of mind to know my Zizou is taken care of at home by Preston. Whether day sitting or taking her on dog walks, Preston always sends great updates and photos, which always make me feel good. I'm so grateful my Zizou has Preston! read more

We recently moved to Denver and have been looking for a company that cares for our kitties the way Chun Soon and Riverside Bark did in New York! She was always professional, quick to respond to emails, and took excellent care of our cats every time we were away. We used ProspectBark for a couple years while living in Brooklyn with our greyhound, Alfie, and absolutely loved the company and walkers. They are so amazing that when we decided to move back to Manhattan (Financial District), we were only saddened by the idea of having to find another dog walking company. Luckily they had just begun expansion into Manhattan via RiversideBark! Chun-Soon (owner) and David (our walker) are very responsive and seem to have a solid logistics system in place because they have always met our needs for schedule changes as well as last-minute requests for both walking and overnights. When we work late or have to travel last minute, RiversideBark has been there to take care of our dog--I've never had to stress over figuring out a back-up plan. We have been impressed by how attentive they are: whether its noticing a small cut and tending to it or knowing when to put on a coat. They send daily text message updates and a photo from the walk--I didn't think I would care as much about this, but it turns out to be such a nice bright spot in the day. They are licensed, bonded, insured, which is always good, and they don't walk the dogs in huge packs. I think they will walk up to 3 at a time, but it is usually less. It's great, because the walks and speed are a bit more tailored to the dog. I have to say that we can only be so lucky to find people who care as much about our dog as us...and I really do believe that is RiversideBark. read more

RiversideBArk is the best! We have had a mini golden doodle named Bailey for the past two years, and have only let the RiversideBArk team care for her. Taryn and Chun-Soon welcomed Bailey to their RiversideBArk family and made the on-boarding process very easy. Scheduling appointments and making payments is hassle-free, as everything is done via their app. Bailey gets walked by Matt, who is AMAZING!! He takes such great care of her, and always sends pictures and updates to a group chat after each walk so we know that Bailey had gone out for her walk in the neighborhood and all was well. On the occasions where we have been home and had Matt walk Bailey, we see her run up to him and get so excited to spend her afternoon with him! He treats Bailey like his own dog, which makes us so happy and know that Bailey is in great hands. They were great. They provided cat-sitting for a week for my 1.5 year old cat over the Christmas holidays. Fed her, changed her litter, and kept her company a little each day. Also sent photos or texts to let me know things were going well. The only downside for me was their policy that they can't alternate days that they visit during your absence. I would have been fine with them coming every other day during that week, but their policy is to come daily until you return home. I think it's a liability thing. read more

We recently moved from Boston to NYC and were in need of a dog walker that could take care of our French Bulldog, Carlos. After only 2 months in NYC, we had already been through 3 dog walkers. Unprofessionalism, last minute cancellations (from the dog walker!), and lack of communication were only SOME of the problems we had to deal with from previous walkers. Needless to say, we were a little skeptical of ANY dog walker when we came across Riverside Bark. Given the other Yelp reviews, I decided to give them a try anyway. And I'm so glad we did! Riverside Bark has lived up to their reviews and more! Within 30 minutes of filling out the online request form, Chun-Soon (the owner) called me directly to speak about our needs. She had a meet and greet scheduled within the same day and we were immediately connected with our new dog walker via email, text, and phone. Whenever we need to change the schedule, Chun-Soon is very responsive and always presenting options to meet our needs. The level of professionalism and attentiveness makes me feel I can trust them -- both with my beloved pup and with our home. David has now been walking Carlos for ~6 weeks now and we all couldn't be happier! He's extremely communicative every single day -- texting us long updates about their walks together and including a picture and/or video! The best part is -- we can tell that he's really gotten to know our pup and takes a lot of care and pride in looking after him. He knew all the quirks of Carlos' personality within the first week together. Not only is Carlos super happy when David comes to pick him up and after spending their walks together; we can tell that David truly enjoys his time with him from his updates. He's always willing and able to take Carlos for extra walks when we need it and makes sure Carlos comes first and foremost. We've had our Super come in the apartment with workers a few times and David always follows up before and after his visit to make sure he knows what to do to look after Carlos given the disruption. One day, David got caught in a crazy summer rainstorm and first asked if Carlos had a rain jacket even though he didn't even have an umbrella!
