My experience with Riverstone is via a weekly corporate class that I've been attending for ~5 months. With that said...WOW. AMAZING. This class is something I look forward to every week. I've taken more than my fair share of yoga classes with a variety of teaches, many of whom are stellar - however, Jen is by far the best. She starts off the class with just the perfect thing to say to you midweek - something inspiring yet relatable in her cool soothing voice. Every class I've taken with her is different and every class is great. She mixes it up enough to keep you on your toes but as a regular one can pick up on her style, whatever that is. Her music choice also flows with her class and you can honestly tell she really cares and is having fun while teaching. I can't ask for a better yoga class. read more

I've been now for a yoga class and for the Full Moon Ceremony and I adore this space. The instructors were both very calming and informative and I left feeling much better than when I arrived both times. Some people go to church on Sundays. I go to yoga class. I always feel like my week is thrown off a bit if I don't get my Sunday yoga fix!! Although the staff has grown/changed over the past year that I've been with Riverstone Yoga, all of the staff that I've had the privilege of working with have been fantastic thus far. Barre classes are still excellent (and pretty much the only classes I consistently attend)! I would highly recommend them for an upbeat way to tone up and build core strength! This is my favorite yoga studio that I've ever tried. The variety of classes is unreal... they have vinyasa, restorative yoga, aerial yoga, bikram, hot vinyasa, and the list goes on. There are two studios, one for hot yoga (which is kept at around 90F) and one for everything else. Both are very clean and well maintained, as is the equipment. The process of signing in online and checking in is super easy, and there is plenty of parking. My favorite class that I've tried so far here is hot core vinyasa, which is a hot vinyasa flow with core exercises incorporated. All instructors that I've had for the classes here are kind and skilled yogis. read more

Moving to the Westchester area for only 3 months I found myself bored after work and looking for something to do. Through word of mouth I head of Riverstone Yoga and decided to give it a try and boy was it a great decision!! I have never really been a "yoga person" but I figured it would be the perfect workout after a long work day and I was right. Although a little hard to find the first time around, the studio is extremely clean and welcoming. The staff is always super helpful and willing to help with any questions/rescheduling. I have now been to Riverstone Yoga weekly and will probably start going every other day (they have amazing monthly-yearly pass options) as it is honestly an experience like no other. Expert yogi and beginners should all give this place a try!! PS: the aerial classes are a lot of fun and a great core workout! read more

Loved the aerial class, it was accessible and good for beginners... Especially for people who are afraid to 'fly'. Nice clean and quiet studio , with a big locker room. Hard to find, it's a close to the river, but hidden in the development - lots of parking as well. read more

Riverstone Yoga provided a guided meditation and a drum circle for our company executive retreat. Patricia was a delight to work with - so accessible and patient. She led the group meditation in a way that was comfortable and serene, yet also practical in that we could immediately use the techniques in our (stressful) workdays. The group loved the drum circle - it really was a fun teambuilding experience. They raved about the meditation and the drum circle, and several people have let me know that it was, by far, the best retreat we've ever had! read more

I've taken several Vinyasa classes with Michelle and well there's only one word for her: Amazing. If you are a yoga novice she is a great teacher and will make you feel welcome and OK with where ever your body can go. If you have been doing yoga for a while she builds up to more complicated positions each session. Her focus on alignment is amazing as she takes us through the poses with ease. Level 1 stay here and smile, level 2 do this....level 3....level 4! And those of us who have taken her classes know about her count to 10 rounds of core work......ughhhhh. She is approachable and friendly. Her small voice makes getting to the challenging poses a bit easier. Her emphasis on perfecting the level where you are in order to get to the next level reminds me not to compete with myself. I have been doing yoga for years, and know - and like - many of the studios in this general area. I really like Riverstone and can't recommend it strongly enough. For me a (highly) significant benefit is that the hot room has really good air circulation. I like hot studios, but many of them have such poor air quality that it's literally unbearable. Riverstone's is great! Also - as someone who has taken a variety of classes at many studios, I find the eclectic array of offerings at Riverstone to be refreshing and enjoyable. read more

Patricia the owner got every detail right! The best facilities, space and expert instruction for every kind of yoga (hot is the "exhale" room and unheated is the "inhale" room). Riverstone is the absolute greatest hot studio in the area! For the past year and a half, I have been coming 3-4 times a week because the classes and environment are simply amazing. I'm fanatical about the hot flow, aerial yoga, and bikram classes. Patricia, the owner, is incredibly warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic and will make you feel right at home. She is always adding new programs, like free summer sunset classes and meditation workshops. She is very receptive and accommodating to all who attend/walk in. Everyone is welcome. The studio is located right in the new beautiful apartments on the water in Tarrytown-literally steps away from the train station. Large, clean bathrooms and a cute yogi-vibes front desk area will enhance your comfort and relaxation. The classes themselves are what really keep me devoted; quality, well versed, kind teachers with effective sequences and supportive attitudes. You can definitely find a range of levels here-what I love most is experiencing the unique energies of each class with whomever is in the room. I feel supported and fulfilled next to my peers of all ages, shapes and sizes. I've tried so many of their classes, and have never left not feeling great. Some notable classes that I enjoy are Caryna's Aerial Yoga, Roxanne's hot and mixed, and Shannon's Hot Flow... Nothing has been more consistently awesome than Shannon's Hot Flow II/III classes. It should be noted that the classes are challenging, and even though I am a trained dancer with prior yoga experience, the class is accessible to everyone (variations are always offered and the nature of the class feels open.) Shannon is thorough, always seems to have a different lesson plan with exciting, new and challenging poses, plays current music, knows her shit, her timing is impeccable, and she is a true inspiration! Regularly attending her classes just twice a week truly transformed me physically, mentally, spiritually, etc...I ended up twisting myself into poses I never thought possible and felt positive for days afterwards. The physical experience of flowing through her class feels as beneficial as a full spa weekend getaway, and the consistent growth I have experienced has shaped me as a human to be more open, grounded and confident in my life. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to try this place. I signed up for the beginners course a few weeks ago and they call me 2 days before to say no one signed up so they had to cancel .then they have the audacity to offer to put my money I paid for the beginners course towards 4 private sessions instead oh ...but it will be another $365 for that option, I think this was a bait and switch . Then when I declined I was told sorry they can't refund my money that I was charged until next week . Isn't that funny... I wouldn't send any one I know to this crooked place!!! read more

The studio is finally open and it's totally worth the wait! The place is gorgeous and well designed, with plenty of lockers and bathrooms, which are often in short supply at yoga studios. Of course that is secondary to good instruction, which I've missed since going to Andy's class at Vineyard Yoga on Martha's Vineyard. I've been holding my breath, hoping it would be as good... Well, the instruction at Riverstone is top-notch. My first class was Michelle's Hot Core Flow and she's an amazing instructor. I've been taking Bikram classes 3 times a week elsewhere and thought I was in shape, but Michelle showed me a new level of both strength and flexibility that is possible for me to aim toward. In just one class, it improved my Bikram technique noticeably. I can't wait to see what it'll do over time. Patricia is offering free classes through Monday 4/9/12 as they do the final tweaks on the thermostats and humidity. After practicing at one of the big-name yoga studios in the city, I realized how under-rated Riverstone is! The teachers at Riverstone are just as talented knowledgeable and there is more space for your yoga mat. Additionally, because class sizes are smaller, the teachers are more approachable. read more

Riverstone yoga is amazing! I work with disabled and disadvantaged youth and Riverstone has begun offering weekly classes to my students for free. Additionally, they even took up a collection and got mats for each girl. The owner, Patricia, and the instructor, Victoria, are great! Incredibly patient and so kind to the girls. The studio is so nice and I will be coming here to take classes as part of my regular practice. read more

I moved to Tarrytown last summer and having practiced yoga off and on for years, wanted to find a yoga studio that offered a variety of classes that would accommodate my flexible business hours. I looked at a few yoga studios in the area but ultimately joined Riverstone Yoga because it by far had the most choice of practices and the instructors who are all outstanding in their methods and individual styles. The studio has a lovely shop and two rooms (hot and not!) that provide a beautiful sanctuary of serenity and rejuvenation while getting a fantastic work out! Riverstone Yoga is finally open, and it was definitely worth the wait. Beautiful building, beautiful studio. Extremely clean with a nice zen feel to it. Patricia was our instructor and she is amazing. Beginner, advanced, doesn't matter. The Bikram Yoga class was something we hadn't gone to in a long time, and she made it so comfortable for us. She helps out each person during the class and makes the time go by very fast. It was a completely relaxing and energizing experience. I highly suggest checking this place out if you are a yoga enthusiast or want to give it a try for the first time.
