We were supposed to camp but our tent didn't hold up in the rain so we needed a pretty last minute hotel stay. This place was fantastic! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We got a great room for a great price. It was clean, comfortable and had all the comforts of home. The fact that we were only a short walk to the shops, dinner and beach was such a bonus. If we find ourselves back in the area again, I would happily revisit this hotel. read more

Love this place and we keep coming back. We've stayed here around 5-6 times and it has all the amenities we love for a family. Very clean, comfy, perfect location,free happy hour and great continental breakfast. Last January we ran into a "national lampoons vacation" situation when I booked a groupon with a hotel about 30 min. Away. There was 6 of us and as soon as we checked in, I knew I couldn't sleep here and we were booked for 3 nights. I sat there never taking my coat off trying to figure out what to do. RTS came to mind but it's a bit more pricey and I figured there would be no rooms either. My son brought it up to me, must have read my mind, so I called, explained our dilemma. They got us a 2 bedroom for an amazing deal and we were outta there! They saved our vacation! We've made a lot of great family memories here and there are more to come. read more

My husband and I have stayed here twice, once in November and again in January. We definitely plan on going back...and very soon! The suites were clean, the staff are helpful and accommodating, and when there was a problem with our DVD player in our room, maintenance was "Johnny on the Spot" to replace it with a new one within 10 minutes of calling down to the front desk. The beds are super comfy, full kitchens (including a dishwasher), washer and dryer for your clothes, a bathroom whirlpool, and the suites are nice and modern. Yummy breakfast is included each morning. The sausage gravy on biscuits is fantastic. They also alternate waffles & French toast sticks each morning. They have oatmeal and various cold cereals, fresh hard boiled eggs, and a variety of breads and bagels to toast. You can also take breakfast up to your room to eat if you prefer that to eating in the dining area. They always have bowls of fresh fruit in the lobby available 24/7 to go along with coffee and tea that is also available 24/7. You can grab an orange, apple or banana on your way to your room for a snack at any time. The pool and whirlpool is nice. The last hour of each evening is "adults only" swim, which is perfect if you are not traveling with kids and want to spend a relaxing, quiet, splash-free time with your significant other! Loved it here. Came up to Astoria for the 25th Goonies weekend- by the time I was booking a room for me and my family they were all sold out in Astoria so I turned to Seaside and I'm really glad I did. The Rivertide was great- the condo was huge and really nice inside- next time we come up we could totally take another 12 year old with us as there was plenty of space for The Boy to take one of his pals. Every night they have a "Managers Reception" where they pass out free beer and wine. Every morning they have a Continental breakfast that was pretty darn good. It gets a little tight in their dining area, but the turnover was pretty quick. This place is 2 blocks from the beach and the Seaside Aquarium. Right around the corner from shopping and restaurants and only about 20 minutes to downtown Astoria and even less to Cannon Beach. The staff was really helpful and knows what good customer service is. The price seemed reasonable to me- I see some people saying that it's not cheap, but for what you get I think it really is cheap- if you got a joint like that in Seattle proper you'd easily be paying twice as much, so I had no sticker shock- at $143 per night I felt like I was getting a steal, especially after taking in all the amenities they offer. My only complaint was the parking situation. Some douche parked him Hummer in 2 spaces and some other guys parked their giant pickup trucks too close to the lines for me so I had to park on the street- I know it's only a few feet away, but I'm driving my very first brand new car and would have felt better to have been in the parking lot. The good news about the parking was that when I complained to the front desk, the kind young woman at the desk called those people and made them park their cars better- seriously, who does that? I was blown away. This was my first time ever in Seaside and knowing that there is a joint like this to stay at is a prime reason for us to go back. Continental breakfast and there was a manager special, which included free red or white wine, beer, and sodas from 5-6 pm. Although this hotel is not right on the beach, it is an easy walk to get there. We did not need to use the car much to get around as everything was easily accessible by foot. The room was clean and had everything we needed. An added bonus was the washer/dryer in the room to clean sandy clothes. It had a kitchenette, jetted tub and balcony. The free breakfast is OK - the normal complimentary breakfast staples. They charge for wi-fi though which is a pain... Would definitely recommend this hotel. read more

We stayed in the studio/smaller of the rooms and it was all we needed even with our kids. Small but cute! We took full advantage of the kitchen and the washer and dryer. Both very useful features! I agree with the other reviews that the bathroom wasn't cleaned very well and the main floor downstairs especially the pool and gym room has that same feel to it. I'm not a snob by any means but I do expect things to be clean. Don't come for the free breakfast either it's mostly bagels and muffins. Pool was like all other hotel pools-cold and never big enough. My family came here the first weekend of spring break. Even though the weather was bad we had a blast. This hotel is the best in seaside, and we've stayed at many of them. It was sort of on the pricey side, but for what you get it was well worth it. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We arrived at the hotel early (2pm) and our room wasn't ready yet so they took our cell number and even let us keep our car in the parking lot. So we were able to take the kids to the arcade and shopping while we waited. Our room was lovely, much nicer than I was expecting. There was a full kitchen, nice living room with a dvd player, a deck with chairs & a washer/dryer. It was really really nice to have the kids in their own separate bedroom. They really thought that was neat. Our master bedroom was excellent. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. I liked having a 2nd tv in our room. The master bath had a jetted tub that I would like to have in my own home. We had a great free breakfast there the next morning. The waffles were really good! Our only complaint about the whole visit was the swimming pool & hot tub. Both had way too much chlorine. Even though I didn't get my head in the water, my eyes started burning really bad. The kids started coughing too, so we left. The other family in there was having the same problems. After we left the pool room we felt all better. I'm not sure if this is a one time problem or not. In all honesty, the place is outstanding. It is super clean and close (walking distance) to everything. We came here for my son's birthday and had a blast. The rooms are more than spacious. WOW! Talk about a home away from home! Rivertide Suites provides a very comfortable atmosphere while making you feel at home. We had the 1 bedroom suite and were blown away! Full kitchen with all the appliances and even pots and pans to cook dinner. The staff was very friendly, helpful and seemed like they cared about your stay. I'm easy to please. I don't ask for much in a hotel. After a day of running around, I just want a comfy bed to lay in. That being said... The bed kinda missed the mark. But, even though I don't ask for much this place provides you a lot!! The bath tub is so awesome. I'm 5'11'' and can full on lay down in it. It's super deep and has awesome jets. They also provide a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a washer and dryer in the units. Also, an electric fireplace! It was easy to make myself at home. read more

There is a BBQ grill on the first floor outdoor. Has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, balcony, electric fireplace, and complimentary breakfast buffet. You can also check out DVD movies and board games from the lobby. Wifi was free even though it said it was not. Staff was friendly and accommodating. My family and I enjoyed our stay here. read more

This place is definitely one of the much nicer places to stay in Seaside methinks. It's not on the beach but it's within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and to the beach itself. The room was exceptionally clean and spacious for just two people. Had a flat screen TV in the bedroom with another one in the living room. It's a condo that has pretty much the basic ammenties one needs: kitchen stocked with cooking supplies, bathrooms with his-n-her sinks, patio area to enjoy the outside air, laundry, etc. The interior decoration is basic but modern. With your stay comes complimentary breakfast. I've read reviews with complaints about thin walls but we didn't hear any of our neighbors so I don't know if it was just us or maybe we have quiet neighbors? The only con would be the elevator. It's sl..o..w (get it?) To check in and out was a breeze and there was plenty of spaces for parking. If we ever come to Seaside again, I would def. book my stay here. read more

Love, Love, LOVE this place. My daughter actually found Rivertide Suites last year when she was looking to take a group of girls to the beach for her birthday. The experience we had then stuck with me. Coincidentally I found myself headed to Seaside on the exact weekend, one year later. Our impromptu trip had me searching online for lodging as we headed down. I ended up finding a terrific deal through Expedia at Rivertide...I was stoked after having the previous great experience. We arrived within 15 minutes of booking online and our room was ready to go. We got a Queen Suite and it was all we could have expected and more. Slept 4 comfortably if needed, kitchen, dishes, balcony...a washer and dryer for god sakes. The staff is friendly. The two rooms I've stayed in have been well above expectation...both in appearance and cleanliness. My main complaint would be the temperature of the hot tub...it came in at a...just above luke warm...101 degrees. When we questioned the gentleman who came in to test the water he said that it was due to OSHA regulations. Bugger. I will return here again and again as you get way more than just a hotel room for less than you would anticipate paying for it. read more

I loved staying at the Rivertide Suites. I was here as part of, essentially, a conference, and stayed for ten days. It's a very sweet place, with a great ambiance and wonderful views. The suite I was in had a whirlpool tub, a full kitchen, an LED fireplace, a washer/dryer, dishwasher, two rooms and two bathrooms. The hotel itself has a pool, hot tub, and exercise room, and they have a selection of DVDs you can borrow. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive -- the manager even does a happy hour every evening and knew everyone by sight. It was a very cozy place to hang out between events and it very quickly began to feel like home. It was also within walking distance to pretty much everything. The only downsides were the Internet, which was practically unusable and I think is $10 extra, and the elevator, which was very, very slow. But all in all, I really enjoyed staying here and would be glad to come back! read more

Great staff. Tim greeted us when we checked in. Very friendly and personable. Gave us terrific recommendation on where to go for dinner and fresh fish which we ended up picking up. Used the BBQ on-site at Rivertide to cook up some fresh Sea Bass...YUM! Also they have a managers reception..can't go wrong with a refreshing drink before dinner. We will be back after they clean the coffee pots...had mold in them. Tried to clean after coffee was drank but we didn't see it until after. So damn Gross. What a gem! I've stayed in Seaside and Astoria many times for business and pleasure but this is my first time at the Rivertide. I wish I would have found it sooner. It's right is the center of town so walking to anything is easy. The rooms are excellent and the value is top notch for being in a beach town. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The 3rd floor room had a slight ocean view. 4th floor would be better but why not just walk a couple of blocks and be there? I stayed for the first time last week & would not recommend this place for the following reasons: front desk staff doesn't display an attitude of hospitality, even though they work in the "Hospitality" industry. With one exception- Carman- she called me the afternoon of my check-in to find out how it was going & they next day she greeted me with "welcome back"! when I returned to the hotel- kudos, Carman! The oven in my suite was filthy & the white comforter on my bed had a wide area of blood on the underside. The hotel manager, Mark, e-mailed me about my comment card- instead of using it as a management tool to improve service, he instead took issue with everything I wrote. My wake up call on check out day included a sales pitch for buying one of their suites- I told the recording that I wanted to buy a one way ticket out of that place..... Roberta S. read more

We stayed at Rivertide Suites this past week and were mostly happy with our stay. Considering that most hotels in the area were $50+ more, we feel we got a good deal. We stayed in the Studio Suite that comes with a queen bed, kitchenette, washer/dryer, and jetted tub. A few notes that might be helpful to others (because they would have been helpful for us to read prior to booking): - Jetted tub is definitely a one person tub (if you are over 5') - Pool is tiny, but if you go after 8pm you should have it (almost) to yourself - Pool is kept much cooler than normal indoor pools (our son wouldn't even get in it) - Hotel provides soap for both the dishwasher and the washer - There is only one elevator - The nightly drink/snack bar is stocked with Bud Light and cheap wine - but hey, it's free - Parking bites - if you're not in by 5pm, expect to park on the street - The free breakfast is minimal compared to what we have had at other hotels - It can be noisy at times - hall noise is easily heard in the room The location of this property is great - only a few blocks and you're in the heart of the downtown shopping area. It's also close to the Outlet Mall and just a short drive to Cannon Beach. The on-site staff seemed pretty friendly. The cleaning/maintenance staff were always friendly. The front desk folks were a bit short and condescending sometimes, but whatever. Everyone hates their job some days, I guess. Overall, it was a good place to stay. Saved us some cash and we didn't need much. Our only complaints would be the parking situation, the fact that there is only one elevator and that leads to some pretty long delays when you have a stroller or luggage cart with you, and the pool being really cold for a heated indoor pool. Room Tip: Get a first floor spot - anything to eliminate the need to wait on the elevator! read more

Seaside has been a vacation staple for our family for over a decade. We've stayed in assorted hotels, motels, and VRBO rentals. This was our first time at the Rivertide. My original vacation plans fell through due to the Lake Chelan wildfires, so in my scramble to come up with a fallback trip, I first thought of Seaside! I booked my 2 bedroom suite (4th floor, river view) online with no hassle at all. Check-in was easy. Like many others have noted, having to pay $10 for wifi access in an age where free wifi is pretty much the norm didn't make me happy, but it is what it is. And when we moved our stuff in yes, we did have to wait for a slow and empty elevator to get all our belongings up to our room. But in all honesty, a slow elevator is a fairly small complaint. The rest of the time we were able to use these things called "stairs" if we didn't feel like waiting for the elevator. We were very happy with our suite! It was always clean and not lacking in any amenities. The fridge seemed to be struggling, as it only kept our food and drinks cool instead of cold. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. And I love having a washer & dryer in the room, as there were always dirty/sandy clothes and towels that needed washing every night. The free breakfast wasn't anything special, but it was free. We didn't take advantage of the Manager's Reception, but it is nice to know it was available and free. Hopefully the wifi will soon be free as well (owners/management, are you listening?) The staff was polite, and I do have one particular shout-out. On our last night there, we were headed to the beach for the ritual beach fire and s'mores. The gal at the front desk (I'm sorry I forgot her name) informed us there was a burn ban that just came into effect that day, so that saved us a trip to the beach that would have resulted in no fire and no s'mores. Thanks! I would stay at the Rivertide Suites Hotel again for sure, and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends and family. read more

Spent 3 nights at Rivertide Suites over the July 4th holiday and enjoyed every minute of it. We have been guests here before and love the accommodations and the friendly staff. I have been traveling for over 25 years and this hotel's service is the worst that I have experienced. First, they were unable to honor a 4pm check-in time on a Sunday; we arrived at 3:15pm and had to wait in the lobby until 4:30pm. Now, we are unable to get our 2-bedroom suite cleaned any time before 5pm during our week-long stay because they service the rooms that have been checked out before they service the rooms of the occupying guests, per a representative at the front desk. We left our room available for over 5 hours, and upon our return we are planning to prepare dinner in our kitchen and no housekeeping yet. We will need to either hand wash our dishes or have dishes available only after 6pm if we run our own load in the dish washer. Rivertide Suites Hotel is a very inconvenient way to spend a week in a larger suite when housekeeping is not timely with their service. We do not recommend Rivertide Suites Hotel at Seaside, OR. read more

The hotel is gorgeous and I ALWAYS stay here when I visit seaside which is normally three times a year. Unfortunately the experience I had over Memorial day weekend was horrible. This is my first yelp post. Jenny assisted us in the check in process. She took 25 minutes to check us in. She didn't smile and said that our credit cards were not working. After toying around with the computer for a bit, she said "opps! I forgot what I was doing" and somehow managed to make our cards process through. After we put our stuff in our hotel room (which was a stunning one bedroom suite) we went off to dinner. While we were eating I received a call from Jenny, whole literally asked me "Are you guys planning on coming to Rivertide tonight or what?" So rude!!!!!! I told her that she checked us in about an hour ago, and that we were the ones she was having trouble running the credit cards. She did no apologize, only said "Well the computer says you were never here.".....this only raised more concerns, like where did our payment for our room go and also the papers we signed..... I was very upset with her customer service, but would not make a complaint just off that. IT GETS WORSE. We get home and check out bank account and we were both charged $350 for a one night stay!!! We had three separate charges pending through. I call Rivertide and talk to their manager Mark. At first he sounded like he was honestly going to try to help me. He said "Here is what im gonna do, Im going ot walk you through all the interactions our hotel has had with you over the last 24hrs so you can get it".....Then he proceeded to talk to me like I was 15 years old and didn't understand a thing. When I interjected and explained to him my specific concerns, I was interrupted with loud laughing in the background. He had me on speaker phone with the rest of his staff. So I hung out. There is no contact information so I can report this higher up than Mr. Mark....so I felt compelled to write my first review. I have always had such an incredible time at this hotel. This experience ruined it for me because when I actually had a decent concern I was treated like it was nothing. Totally disrespected. read more

I am very disappointed with this establishment! We were very excited to stay in this hotel for our upcoming tournament this weekend. Sadly the weather was not on our side and we are stuck on our hill due to all the snow. As we contemplated coming our coach said they were canceling our teams involvement in the tourney as the national weather service was advising all to stay off the roads because of expected ice conditions on top of the several inches of snow already accumulated. I understand you have policies in place for a reason but when extenuating circumstances arise such as all this snow, I would think as a business you would want your customer safe. Instead you have chosen to bill us for our time NOT spent there. As Lauren mentioned on the phone today, I was encouraged that the 2nd night would be cancelled but to be billed for the 1st night is simply outrageous. Now I don't even no what we were billed for as it was more than just one night. I hope you rethink how you conduct yourselves for future. In the meantime, I will be sure that every social media site knows how you choose to do business so folks in this situation know there are better hotels out there that put safety first!!!!!! Made a reservation for this hotel last night, put in my credit card, received a confirmation. Just got an email stating my reservation was cancelled, after calling to find out why this was cancelled we were told it's because they are not "releasing" that timeframe until next week. Convenient that when they will be releasing dates for Hood to Coast; this gives them time to hike up the prices. Terrible terrible customer service! Wow!!!! We stayed here on a whim after we cancelled some plans to go to Mount St. Helen's and go see the coast instead. Many places were booked and we ended up here after reading the reviews on Yelp and finding out that the 6 of us (my family of 4 and my parents) could stay in one suite for $219. When we got there we told them my dad was an AARP member and they gave us $40 off! The place was huge, has a kitchen, living room and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a pull out sofa. My kids thought it was the greatest thing ever. Way better than the Hamptons we had been staying at. They had a wine and beer and snacks hour from 5-6 (everything free!) and complimentary breakfast. We have had a horrible experience with Rivertide Suites. Our sons basketball team was scheduled to play in a basketball tournament, however, due to unforeseen circumstances our team was unable to play. We needed to cancel our reservation, 72 hours in advance, however the hotel would not grant a full refund to our family or the 10 other families on our sons team. This is poor business and our family and team will never be staying at this hotel again. read more

Clean enough rooms I am sick leaving there but not sure if this place is to blame. .very unorganized didn't get the room I booked ruined my visit. .Priceliners beware...they tried to stick us on the first floor next to the lobby very loud with no balcony as promised just a common area no privacy. .we requested a room change and got a two bedroom which we didn't need facing the holiday Inn then our door broke keys wouldn't work. .very unapologetic didn't care..as a business owner I would've at least TRIED something to be accommodating but nope not here...very dissatisfied read more

This place is not a five-star hotel, so don't get confused by my rating. But it definitely gets five Yelp stars from me!! We stayed here for 3 days, and I was in absolute heaven!! First, we booked the room off of one of them thar internet hotel rental deals, and it was dirt cheap: $89 a night, + tax, and another $25 a night for Willus. Yes, Willus was happily welcomed! Our room was lovely, even though we only got a studio, it was equipped with a full kitchen (all utensils, a full-sized fridge, microwave, oven, stove, dishwasher), a dining table, a sofa (that could be made into an extra Queen sized bed), a leather chair, a fireplace (gas), a flat screen LCD tv, a large bathroom complete with a large jetted tub, and a queen sized pillow top bed. I didn't want to leave! And it was only 4 blocks from the beach. There was also an indoor pool, exercise room and jacuzzi. read more
