There's nothing more special than Mother's Day brunch at the Kittle House Inn in Chappaqua, NY. We were seated in the bar area, where you could really feel the historic, cozy charm of the inn. Reservations filled quickly, so I felt lucky to secure a 12:00 noon table for four -- my wife, mother-in-law, son, and me. The brunch featured a prix-fixe menu, and honestly, everything sounded delicious. My son and I ordered Bloody Marys, while my wife and mother-in-law chose mimosas. I was starting to feel very sophisticated at that point. The croissants with assorted spreads and jams were outstanding. I started with the oysters, which were perfectly prepared and practically melted in your mouth. My wife was initially going to order the mixed salad, but I convinced her to try the burrata and prosciutto instead -- a great decision. My son ordered the spicy yellowfin tuna pizzetta, and my mother-in-law had the cream of artichoke soup. I sampled everything except the soup; I didn't think sticking my spoon into my mother-in-law's bowl was the best idea. Everything we tasted was excellent. The entrées were equally impressive. My salmon was unbelievably fresh, my son's filet mignon was tender and flavorful, and my wife's lobster eggs Benedict was rich and delicious. My mother-in-law enjoyed the spring vegetable quiche. Up until that point, everything had gone smoothly. Then service started to slip a bit. Desserts were taking an unusually long time, and no one had come over to ask whether we wanted coffee, espresso, cappuccino, or tea. When I finally requested coffee, the waiter didn't even ask what kind we wanted. The general manager came over and apologized for the delay, but I struggled to explain that the issue wasn't just the wait -- it was the lack of attention to detail and service standards you expect at a restaurant like the Kittle House, especially at this price point. I was happy to pay for a fine dining experience; I simply expected the service to match. What really caught me off guard was when he responded by asking, "Do you work in restaurants?" I found that somewhat offensive, as if my opinion needed credentials to be valid. Ironically, I actually have 30 years of hospitality experience, including work at Forbes-rated properties. To their credit, the waiter later apologized, and they removed the coffee charge from the bill. Despite the service hiccup, I would absolutely return. It honestly seemed like they were understaffed, with too few experienced servers and too much reliance on bus staff trying to keep up with a very busy holiday crowd.

I was really excited to get back to Kittle House after they reopened, for a holiday meal. We started with the bluefin tuna sushi pizzetta and the beet salad, both were very flavorful. The tuna was pretty spicy and the beet salad had a lot of fresh fruit in addition to being perfectly dressed. For main course we split the ribeye which came with potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach and gravy. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and delicious. We ended the dinner with the Kittle Kat dessert, always a great choice. Service was a little slow, it seemed like the kitchen was still getting used to being open, but the wait staff was attentive and friendly to make up for it. After speaking with our waiter (who was fantastic) I hear there are more additions and changes coming, but we had a great meal. Looking forward to going back in a few months and seeing what else is new.

A former corporate wine merchant, pairing wine with food is a passion for us. and this amazing Farm to Table restaurant constructed in 1790 with the 3rd best rated wine cellar in America. I ordered a dozen roses and had them displayed on our table ahead of arriving. Speaking with the sommelier, I was looking for a 94 Bordeaux, Merlot or something that can stand up to a Steak but not become too bitter with fish. He came up with a 94 Leonetti Cellar Merlot, from the Walla Walla Valley. It was not in the catalog so the manager ask if we would pay a very reasonable price for what is an amazing bottle of wine. We shared a glass with the manager and sommelier, Changed the creamed spinach to a risotto to better partner with the steak and my wife had the Hiddenfjord Organic Scottish Salmon. With so much going on, I forgot pictures. After talking with the Manager and Sommelier, they gave us a tour of the wine cellar and showed us bottles over a hundred years old. They also have a table for ten in the wine cellar area where you can have different courses with wine pairings. Crabtree's Kittle house is in our rotation. Under new ownership there is a complete kitchen remodel going on the the kitchen is outside under a tent. The food was still great and presented well, but the full menu was not in play. Look forward to returning an experience the vision of new ownership

When we complained we were told that the kids were quiet when they were in the theatre, but were running around outside the room. Thats a problem! But actually we were in the last row of the adjoining theater and we could hear them in the room itself. So there is that. We all also thought it was unusual to exit the theater and walk-through the main bar/lobby to leave and see one of the staff men sitting at the bar with an undershirt tank top on. First of all it isn't the summer, but even still aren't they expected to wear their uniforms while on duty? It was very unusual.

I'm not complaining! Loved the large extended leather chairs, great sound and truly what seemed like a private showing -- I mean we're talking 'small,' as in 'tiny!' Pretty cool! The only negative was the fact people (adults) sat on the one side and let their kids go ape $#*! on the other side! Remember, this is a SMALL venue. It reminded me of what I hate about a similar cinema in Pleasantville -- a lot of privileged people on their phones, feet on the chairs, talking... but I digress! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and see something else, and hopefully in the same theater. If I see kids again, I'm getting my money back! I really want to know if the other theaters are the same size or larger. Assuming larger! Oh, parking was brutal -- almost non-existent!

Logistics there could be a bit tricky, so we really wanted someone who new the location. Are we glad we did! From beginning to end, the process could not have been smoother. We worked primarily with Shelley, and she really made the entire process, from planning, to more planning, to more planning, to even more planning still, to deliveries, to pick-ups, to clean up, to our final dried and framed bouquets, a breeze. She was really patient with all of our questions and changes. In the end, the flowers were PERFECT! They did an arch for the ceremony, lanterns for the aisle, flowers for the tables, wedding party, and even strung bistro lights outside for the reception. They had plenty of good ideas, although it really was my wife's vision, and they made it come to fruition with precise execution. The end results were stunning. We will definitely use them again if we need flowers for anything! Thank you for making our wedding an amazing day.

He understood exactly what I was looking for, and created a sample bouquet for us to see. My bouquet was so outrageously beautiful, and perfectly matched the floral archway we were married under and the stunning centerpieces at our reception. Working with Forever in Bloom was a seamless, easy process, and the final product exceeded my expectations!

Per my last sentence, be sure you go online and KNOW what you want to do and what you want to spend! You can 'easily' spend a lot of money here - on the other hand, if you know what you're doing you can have a nice afternoon/evening here at a reasonable cost. Again, go on the website beforehand. I can't stress this enough! Their wine is expensive as are 'some' seating options so be advised. We were actually there 3x's this spring/summer. Went to a big party under one of their large structured tents, then we had a small party under an umbrella table, and then went up again this past weekend and just sat in chairs and caught a sunset and amazing dinner from Greek Cave food truck. The food trucks (always 2) vary, but they list whose there on the website along with any entertainment (extra cost). Very annoying is the fact you can't call there! You have to text or email and their response(s) are NOT always timely! Unprofessional that you can't call and speak to someone.

Mentor's kicked things off mainly because it was the first place we haven't eaten at in the first response we received. The inside is pretty nice, I like their decor. It is certainly unique and visually pleasing although I'm not sure how it relates to Italian food. The menu is on ipads which is interesting. I ordered one of their cocktails, some play on words with kiwi in it. It was a vodka drink with...kiwi flavor. It was pretty good, it was on the sweeter side which I tend to like. I got a lil tipsy but considering the fact that I didn't eat that much that day and haven't consumed alcohol in a month I would hazard to guess that it wasn't as strong as it could have been. There were two vegetarian options on the entree list. One couscous thing which could have been interesting but I didn't come to an Italian restaurant to eat couscous. I went with the other one: cacio e pepe. GF ordered "the salmon". They do the whole cook-that-shit-in-a-roll-of-cheese business for the cacio e pepe which provided some nice theater. This was INCREDIBLE. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the flavors were spectacular but I imagine it is probably hard to fuck up cheese, butter, and pepper. GF says salmon "was ok but sauce too buttery" at the time she said "it was just mediocre". She didn't finish it. They did dabble in the lost art of table bread with some flatbread triangles and a very tasty pepper or something dip. This was really good, I would buy that dip in the store. Our server was nice but the service could have been better. I was never asked if I wanted another drink after I finished and we sorta had to flag him down for shit. Everything I personally ate was good but I hear the salmon was lacking and things were left to be desired in other areas.
