I left my car here on a Thursday to get emissions inspection & safety inspection done, told them I need to pick it up at 6 AM on Tuesday because I am a nanny and have to use my car to drive kids to school. Was told the cashier will be there at 6 on Tuesday to give me my keys and that all work would be done. Went out of town for the weekend and didn't hear anything back from them. I show up Tuesday at 6 and no one is there, my car is still inside the locked garage... wait for 20 minutes & no one shows up. I have to use my husband's work truck to go get the kids which completely messes up both of our work days. We come back in the evening and the cashier says they don't open until later in the morning some days so that's why no one was there in the morning. There was no signage anywhere on the store or online stating this (not to mention we had been very clear when we dropped it off that we NEED to pick the car up at 6 AM sharp and were told someone would be here). Apparently my car had needed some very expensive emissions repairs that they installed (did not bother to call and let us know first so we could expect the several hundred dollar bill upon pickup). They did not even complete the safety inspection or apologize at all for anything that happened. I will never be returning here for repairs as I do not trust them at all to have my car ready when I need it. read more

We recently had our truck towed to this service station, when we broke down on 95 heading to Massachusetts with our 2 Goldendoodles from Florida! We had difficult finding an Uber or Lyft to take us to a local hotel. We had the nicest girl we dealt with who offered us a ride to the hotel, from her coworker (I believe who had a van that accommodated us all. His name might be Mohammed?). It was early Saturday morning at 8:30 and they couldn't have been nicer! I was so relieved that I started to cry because I knew our truck was in good hands and they treated us with such kindness. We are going back next Saturday to pick up our truck that is still being worked on and I'll be sure to get the Manager info to tell them in person what amazing employees Shell Service Station! Eeeeek! I can't say how they are for a service center, but avoid the gas station part of this Shell location. Gas was fifty cents higher than it is down the street closer to the interstate. I was just passing through, so I didn't know there was a cheaper option less than a quarter mile down the road. Two of the pumps were broken. I pulled up to one that was in service and it wouldn't take either of my card. The pumps looked upgraded, but I'm slightly concerned by the amount of times I had to insert and remove my card before it told me to "see attendant." I tried both of the cards I had on me just in case and neither worked. I had my dog in the car and was in the middle of a long drive, so I wasn't interested in going inside or talking to anyone. At least it ultimately ended up working out in my favor since I saved money down the road. read more

Beware & Be Aware! There' s not much good to say regarding my experience with this Shell Service Station. There sales practices are predatory and their customer service is lack luster to say the least. Between belligerent technicians and the sassy service manager there is a-lot to be aware of. Their prices and services are poorly explained (in my opinion) and information seems to be juggled between both ends of the store leaving you to decide what to make of what they are doing. In a span of three days there were plenty of guesses on the car and I was quoted for a $800 part + $251 for diagnostics and $200 for work/service that they said still may not be the fix as even with hours of diagnosis they cant be sure. Resolution: (I found out that not only was piece no longer made as it is considered obsolete by the dealer) After speaking to the dealer I brought the after market part the next morning from Auto Zone for $142 with the dealers blessing and installation ran $160 so ultimately Beware! and Be Aware of your options. While they might say someone else will charge more and that they got you "brother" just make sure to keep an eye out for your best options , the prettiest shell often isn't the first you find so its always a good idea to keep looking read more

Have been there many times for inspections/ emissions as it's so handy. Compared to Oldbridge Road stations nearby, their gas is expensive, but good quality Shell, bathrooms typical dirty like 99% of stations, but the service has always been great. Ownership changed hands and their best mechanic started up on his own beyond the VRE railroad tracks not far away. Manager Donnie is very friendly & helpful. So far 98% happy, though a brake job to pass inspection didn't last long, and I ended up at Merchants Tire & Auto getting them replaced within 18 months. I drive hard, but not that hard! Low quality pads? To pass inspection, make sure your headlights are clear. DIY with a kit. Donnie reminded me about that, which was very kind! read more

Ask the to diagnose a problem w/ my oil pressure light. They identified it as most likely the sensor, but it wasn't necessary to change it unless the problem was persistent. Everything else in the car was good to go. Diagnosis cost me nothing and now I have piece of mind. read more

Went there for a brake job and rotors 2020. Was told that the brake fluid was bad and that it was gonna be 160 dollars to do the work in addition to the brakes so I declined. Find out later that they will not warranty the brakes because I didnt change the fluid. Kinda funny to I went to another shop and asked if this is standard and they said not at all the fluid level should not void the brake warranty. He also found out that the parts used were for the cheapest brakes pads and rotors available on the market. The brakes and rotors were well over 500 dollars would never go back here again read more

I stopped off to get a tire plugged. They tell me it's in the sidewall and tell me I need a new tire. The tire had good rubber left so they offered to put on a used tire. They didn't have one and the kid drives off to get a used tire from the shop around the corner without telling me how much. The manager, who always has an attitude, tells me she'll have someone to take the existing tire off. I just tell her to slow down a bit as they had not quoted me a price. She loses it telling me to go somewhere else because I was "rushing them." I have used this place for years. And have sent a lot of buisness there way. Most everyone I have taken there has been happy. So why do I get so low of a review. Well first the buisness was sold to someone else who I really don't think they knew how to run it. Well last year or so I took my wife's car in there for a safety inspection. I was dinged on bad breaks. And that was true. And on a light out. Told me that they tried a bulb and still did not work. And it's probably a electrical problem so that would cost me some change. I replaced the breaks my self. And eventually took a look at the light issue. I have diagnostic tools for automotive stuff. Everything came back fine. All tests showed positive power so I slapped in new bulbs boom. It worked. I don't know what the deal is with that. When I told Grady he said he was there when he was looking at the car. Which he probably was. But I have a feeling the other guy didn't turn the power on. So that kinda ticked me off. Now I found out that the station was sold again. And the new owners want to use cheaper parts and charge as if it was factory parts. And does not want to warranty there work. Bye Felicia. So I have moved on. New ownership and I could tell soon as I walked in today! I was immediately greeted and asked how they could assist me. Advised I needed my tire plugged. They took my keys and said they would make sure I am safe to get back on the road. I was there (maybe) 20 minutes and I was back out the door. They kept me in the loop for every few minutes I looked outside (since I'm nervous about...well...everything haha). I met the owner himself, along with 2 other technicians. Mike is the manager of this gas station and he gave me stellar service yesterday & today. My car did not pass Virginia inspection at another station the day before. The reason was a loose right side tire rod. That location stood me up on an appointment to repair it the next day. I was pretty angry as I wanted my car to pass inspection without driving around for the weekend with a rejection sticker. In short Mike took me in and replaced both tie rods (both were defective) and passed my car for the VA sticker. Good counsel, great customer service, good timing, price on par with other stations. He and his mechanics are fully credentialed professionals. I was impressed and will return for future service. I am a retired Navy officer and I appreciate going into the Memorial Day weekend with my safe & non rejected car! So thanks to Riverview Shell! read more

December 31 to get emission sticker because there was no line however, I still waited a long time and of course there's always something extra wrong with your vehicle so naturally I paid the extra amount for a new tire . Mike had mentioned to me that I need to get an alignment and he would charge me 120 and it would take an hour. Here I am on January 23 I made an appointment in advance for 10am I arrived to the shop at 9:50 and with my coffee and books because I thought there was no point of driving home if it was only going to take an hour. I understand complications and time so which is why I didn't even mind if I had to stay an additional 30 minutes or so, it wasn't until two hours later that I began to get frustrated. The lady in the front kept approaching me saying that my car was going to be done soon but additional time would pass. I noticed that my car wasn't even inside the shop when the 2 1/2 hour mark hit, the lady began to tell me that someone was test driving my car and then I saw my car pull back up and another man got into my car and test drove it again!!! The lady in the front explain to me that the first driver didn't know which way it was pulling so they needed a second driver because he was more experienced. This frustrated me because why would you even waste my time after being here for so long with someone inexperienced to test drive my car. Then we finally reached the three hour mark and I get my bill which has an additional $50 on it because it took them so long and they wanted me to pay them for their time I might actually have been OK with that had they not had multiple people test drive my car ((not to mention Covid is still a thing why is so many people jumping in and out my vehicle )) and or Mike had explained to me that it could possibly take longer than an hour, I could've made other arrangements to just drop my car off and not continue to hang around, with people telling me "your car is almost ready " "your car is almost ready" constantly for three hours I do not recommend it was extremely unprofessional and even Mike was shouting at his employees saying that they are slow as shit and now means now!! I came in looking for coolant because my car had overheated and had to pull it into the 7-11 next door pretty quickly. Jara was at the service counter and upon hearing about my issue, took the time to come over to the next door 7-11 with me to see what coolant was needed, as I wasn't certain. Someone had vandalized my hood latch, so she held traffic for me to quickly pull the car into the service center before it overheated again. She immediately had a technician come out with the tools to pop the hood and take a look. We discovered air in the system, so they offered to keep it for further review and even gave me a loaner so I could get to my work shift on time. I have never experienced this level of customer service in my life. I highly recommend this business as they treated me with respect and took care of my issue expediently, walking me through every step. Been driving on a decent spare for months after a tire blow out on the road, it was identified and they told me they could repair the tire (I was planning to buy new ones). I drove with the Shop Manager Graddy and let him hear the noise. We both Identified where the noise was coming from and he stated he would would give me a call once he got it in the shop. When he called he said that I needed parts so I gave him the ok to proceed with the repair., I got my car back and its still making the exact same noise its like they did not even touch it .When I took the car back up to the shop they were very defensive and did not want to take a second look because they stated that the part I needed was around a 1000 bucks to repair..Stay away they will take your money and NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!!! read more

We just had a brake job done on my wife's Explorer and paid the exact amount advertised on the coupon we had. I have had at least 30 brake jobs done on cars over the years, at a host of different repair places and this is the first time the repair center did not try to sell me new rotors, or calipers or something else I did not even bring the car in for. I live near this service station and decided to try it out for some basic maintentance a few months ago (oil change, tire rotation, and so on). The prices were as good as anywhere for those services, but of course, they called with something else that needed doing. My car is pushing 100,000 miles, so its special maintenance needs are increasing in number and I was going away on a long enough road trip that I decided to push my suspicions to the side and let them do it. Plus, as repairs go, it was not all that much money ($50 give or take). However, then I took it in for an inspection, and sure enough, I ended up with $250 worth of repairs for items for which another inspection station would not have failed the vehicle. When I took it to my regular mechanic (who is great, but a bit out of the way for just an inspection), he sort of rolled his eyes and said, well, he failed it, so you have to fix it. He then did the re-inspection for free, which saved me having to go back to Riverview Shell (as well as the $16 for having anyone else do it). Anyway, my recommendation is that you avoid Riverview Shell at all costs. read more
