September 9-12, 2025 - Fortuna, CA This RV park has a lot going for it: level sites, a small pool and spa, a rec room, store, laundry, and friendly staff. We also appreciated the many trees, the picnic table at each site, and a little patch of grass along with the full hookups. Also within walking distance is Eel River Brewery, Bella Italia Italian Restaurant, and the Eel River Walk Trail. The only drawback for us was the traffic noise. Highway 101 runs directly behind the park, and the road out front gets more than its share of trucks and the occasional wannabe dragster. It didn't ruin our stay, but it did impact our sleep. I don't think I would stay here again simply because of the traffic noise. Not the RV park's fault, just simply a matter of location. read more

September 9-12, 2025 This is a nice park with many towering redwood trees, recreation activities including ping pong and horse shoes, a pool, jacuzzi, and laundry. The staff are friendly and the grounds are well kept. They have full hookups and a picnic table on nice green grass. It is within easy walking distance of Eel River Brewery (among my all time favorites) and a nice Italian Restaurant (Bella Italia). Those are the positives. The one big negative for me was the traffic noise. The park is right next to a Highway 101 off ramp and there is another road going by the front of the park that is fairly busy and noisy with lots of big rigs. If you do decide to stay here, I suggest you have a noise canceling device or ear plugs. It was hard to get a sound night's sleep. read more

On a week-long family road trip up north, my husband, our then 7-month-old and I had found primitive camping for a couple of nights but had planned poorly for this particular night. I called Riverwalk RV Park pretty late in the day, feeling slightly desperate for a place to lay our heads for the night. The gentleman I spoke to was kind, was able to quote me over the phone and asked when I thought we'd make it there. We arrived later than I had said we would, but were still greeted by a few friendly faces in the office who took our payment, sold us a bundle of firewood and directed us to our site for the night. As the name implies, Riverwalk is primarily an RV park which was evident by the dozens of RVs parked on-site, but they have a small designated grassy area for tents as well. By the time we rolled up to our tent site, night was already beginning to fall so we set up quickly so we had some time to relax in the fading daylight, start a fire and cook dinner. Our site was surrounded by a handful of other tent sites and bordered by some small cabins. Trees are scattered throughout the grounds, and overall despite being right next to the highway, it was fairly scenic. The bathrooms are accessible with a code on a pinpad, and I found them to be very clean and well-maintained. I can't comment on the shower facilities because I didn't use them, but it was nice to know that they were an option. We slept well for our one-night stay, and packed up to head to our next destination. Although we prefer more primitive camping, this was a nice backup option for a short stay, and I am thankful there was space to accommodate us on such short notice. In a pinch, I would stay here again. read more

We had a great time at the Riverwalk RV resort. The bathrooms are clean, the staff is very friendly, and everything is extremely affordable. The park is close to everything including restaurants, gas, a trail along the river, everything else. We rented a cabin here and stayed for four nights, we loved everything about it. We will definitely be returning. read more

Arrived for a 3 day stay. After setting up our camper next to the highway and looking at facilities (bathrooms closed close by, have to walk to shower house. It is nestled, literally, between Hwy 101 and another very busy service road. More to come. So loud! read more

I don't want to give 5 stars because others might read and I won't be able to get a space. We have stayed there a couple of times. These were not planned ahead times. When I called I left a message and they called right back, thankfully with a space. They have always been very friendly on the phone and in person. The area is very clean and organized. It is a easy off and on yo freeway access. Spaces are easy to get in and out. The RV park is located by short walk to several restaurants. The pool was clean and is heated to about 82 and the spa is HOT but not so hot that you can't get in and relax. Actually I thought both pool and spa were PERFECT temps and so refreshing and relaxing. Thanks I will be back many more times on my travels between central CA and Oregon/Washington coast. read more

Very clean and orderly. This was a packed campground. Compared with the other campgrounds we have stayed in for the last 21 days it has the smallest amount of room around each parking spot. It seemed like there were a lot of residents. With that in mind, you need a staff that is on top of the grounds, and they have definitely stepped up to keep the facility in top shape. One of my favorite RV parks. Fortuna itself lacks services and restaurants but does have a few very good ones. The park is clean and well run, reasonably spacious and in a nice setting. It is also in a convenient location just off the freeway. Walking distance from Walgreens and Starbucks at the south end of town just across Hwy 101. Walking and bicycling nearby on the Eel River levee. This is my 3rd or 4th visit and I keep coming back. Some may prefer a park closer to Eureka but I prefer a more rural setting. Both the victorian town of Ferndale and a Casino are nearby. For nature lovers and birders the south end of Humboldt Bay and Arcata Marsh offer plenty of viewing. As I began, this is one my favorites and as a bonus my wife agrees. read more

BEWARE. They charged a booking fee of $10 but didn't tell me when I called for a reservation. They are trying to be like airlines and hotels: charge unnecessary fees to boost the bottom line. I never thought I would see this in this in the RV world and I have been RVing for over 20 years. 99% of RV parks are honest and straightforward, not this one. I won't be back. Otherwise, it is a good facility. read more

FYI.....I sent an inquiry for long term, indicating the dates for a 6 month period in the summer of 2022. I provided quite a bit of information, RV size, arrival date, departure date, etc. They emailed an application. I filled it out, including very personal information which included my Social Security number. I got a response stating they only rent weekly in the time period I requested. I questioned WHY they sent the application and requested they destroy the application. Looks like a great park with awesome reviews, but don't submit an application until they indicate availability. read more

Facilities really clean, laundry is way over priced! Really small washing machines. RV spots were nice but it would be nice to have a spot for a campfire :( big downer about this place. read more

This is a rough area apparently. I stayed one night on a motorcycle trip through the lost coast. Tent site had a neighbor tent with a teenage boy and girl who had no vehicle of any kind. The shed next door that they rent as a cabin had two junkies in it who were kicked out at 10pm because their friend skipped out on paying. The show was entertaining because the staff kept sparking a stun device to threaten the tweakers in the shanty. Bathroom had blood spatter from needles on the floor. Overall, a pretty dumpy place. I gave it 2 stars because it's pretty and the runaways and junkies didn't bother me all night. read more

What a rude and unfriendly manager. We had a two day visit setup and paid in advance. We called in early June and canceled our stay for July . The young lady thanked us for the noticed of our cancellation. However she did not post the refund of $120.00 to our credit card. When we called today to ask for the refund the manager advised she had no record of the cancellation. I asked then why didn't you call us when we were a no show? She advise that they are so busy and full they can't do that. The manager what's us to believe she left a site open in a peak season without renting it. The truth is that my cancellation was noted in their system and the site was rented so they never really realize we were a no show. It's truly sad with the demand for open spaces and advance reservations being required they did nothing to make this right other than keep our money. We are now in a state we have to get written confirmation and not trust people at their word. Manager was told we were going to post abs she said go ahead . Hot a very professional manager. read more

Nice enough campground. Asphalt pads with grass and a picnic table. Laundry/pool/store. Lots of permanent residents in older RV's out smoking and watering gardens right in with campers/vacationers. I would personally choose not to vacation in that setting had I been aware. Upon leaving we spotted a different campground in a meadow with Elk. Next time we will check that out. read more

Came in at 4:45pm with 36 ft TT. She said she's sorry that the office was closed, but to pay in the morning. We were put in space#13 and it was a pull through, but, it was very low on both ends and hard to stabilize jacks. There was a semi parked on the road on the other side of RV property that ran ALL night long. Need to say, no sleep for us. Got up to do laundry and pay for our RV spot for 3 nights.Paid for our 3 nights, loafed the laundry on sand filled dryers( no pet one of course then talked about leaving early into a quieter park down the road. Went back into office to see if we could leave early. Explained noise issue and both employees said they could not refund our $. What? I just paid like 29 mins ago. They told me it is common for truckers to line up on public road boundary and run their trucks all night with compressors on for frozen trailers. Still, they would not refund my money. I'm thinking, wow! If I had bought a product or service that was bad, like in a store, people refund your money back to your credit card. But here..... no. Lesson learned..... pay for one night at a time in case you want to leave due to lack of sleep or if information is withheld on your stay hereWould not recommend this place at all. read more

Came in after hours. Got our packet. Found our spot. A little noisy with the 101 right behind us. But that was expected. Great jump off spot to go south to the Redwoods or go up to the coast. Spaces were nice and clean. All the hook ups were in good condition. Easy dog access spots. read more

This is one of the worst RV parks we ever stayed at. It was so loud we didn't sleep at all. It's right by a noisy road and on top of it Harleys were riding up and down the isles in the middle of the night. When we told them we needed to cancel the rest of our stay and the manager wouldn't even speak to us. Never called us back or tried to make anything better. Just ignored us and we lost almost 500 dollars. This literally ruined our vacation. probably the worst experience in all our travels. read more

Needed to cancel travel plans from Texas as a result of the corona virus and they kept a cancellation fee of $58! I found this to be a disgrace and a true reflection of who these people are! read more

Nice and clean. Some highway noise but would stay again. Staff very nice. My satellite worked even with all the beautiful trees.

Lots of trees. Level parking pads. Bathrooms are clean. Store opens at 9am and closes whenever they feel like. Sprinklers come on too often or for too long not sure which but the grass is wet constantly. No fire pits allowed so you're pretty much confined to your RV once it starts to get chilly. The freeway noise is ridiculous, we paid in advance for 3 nights or we would have left. Spots are too close together. read more

Great facilities for all types of RVs. Elk were in a field nearby. The hookups are in great condition. The park is surrounded with grass and trees. Lots of privacy for everyone. Well stocked store. Very friendly staff. We camped here for 1n. in a 38ft Motorhome with a tow. They gave us a nice pull thru. We'll spend more time next stay! read more

This review is not about the park, but about their customer service. I did not stay at the park. I did make reservations online, then subsequently tried to cancel them. Initially, I sent an email to them with my reservation information requesting to cancel. This was over 2 months prior to the reservation date. Over a month later, there was no response, so I went to the reservation system and requested to cancel. It sends a notice to them (I guess), but the reservation is not cancelled after a few days. More days of waiting and getting closer to the no refund time, so I called and left a voice mail message. I also updated the reservation system cancellation request indicating that I left a message. Hurray, shortly there after, I received an email with the cancellation notice. They keep 15% or a minimum of $10 for their troubles....which seems like a lot, but that's their policy. I'm not complaining. I'm not sure if this is a small family business but sometimes smaller businesses can be less responsive. I just wanted to let other Yelpers know about my experience. read more

The campground itself is perfectly adequate and has long spots that can accommodate large rigs. There is grass and a pool and plenty of redwood trees to keep your site cool. However, if you don't want to hear dogs barking continuously for days on end because the staff doesn't really care off the riffraff full timers leave their dogs perched in front of open windows for hours at a time. If you also don't like to hear emo semi-adults left in the charge of said barking dogs yelling and screaming at the dog who only wants to be with people and you don't find this heartbreaking and distressing... then this RV Park Is NOT for you! And don't be fooled into thinking this is a place that will actually cares about recycling or the environment. Instead of scheduling more recycling pickups, they just toss the overflow into the garbage dumpster which, by the way, gets loudly collected at around 8am. Good morning you late sleepers on vacation! It's not really that great a location for tent camping, but it definitely worked for a night of sleep on our long journey. They have tent and rv spaces as well as cabins. We were in a tent. We did the self check in which was really convenient since we arrived after 9pm. One thing is that because it is right on the road you hear a lot traffic noise really early. A positive is that the grounds and bathrooms are clean. There is also a pool and jacuzzi. read more

The guy that took our reservation over the phone was grumpy sounding but the gal that checked us in was great. the place was clean and pretty but she put us right by the bathrooms surrounded by rv's while we were in a tent. We saw some empty camp sites further back that were more private but meh, whatever. a bit expensive at 30 for a tent site but the free wifi was a bonus. read more

We stayed in cabin 5. Despite free wifi being advertised, we had to go outside and a little up the road to receive any wifi signal. When I asked at the front desk, they blamed it on weather (it was a sunny day). Also we had ants in the cabin. There was a sign posted inside our cabin to expect a few ants. I think bugspray would have been a much more appropriate response. Do not recommend. read more

This RV park is very tight and you are so close to your neighbors. As someone else mentioned, the picnic tables are sitting right next to the sewer dump at each site. Yes you can move them, but then you are almost sitting in your neighbors RV. If you want to set up your own chairs and tables, there isn't much room to do so. The trees are nice (If your site has them), they provide shade and add a little privacy. This RV park sits right against highway 101 and is very noisy (Day and night). I am a little confused about my reservations (Tuesday - Friday). When I made them, I was told that we would be in a certain space for 3 of the 4 days then we would have to move the 4th day. I did not like that. They told me that a large group was coming in. After a few minutes, they found a place that we could stay in the entire time. Thank you! A few days before we were to arrive, I called to verify that we were still okay. It's a good thing we called. The employees somehow lost our name and phone number. After a long discussion, they put us back in the system, but put us in a different site.That was okay with me, at least we got our spot back. When I was looking at the map of the park, I asked to stay in some sites but I was told that these spots are for people who live here. About half of this park has full time residence, making it hard to get a spot to stay here when you want one. They offer free Wifi here. There are several connections to choose from, however, you get booted every few minutes and need to re-sign back in. It is very frustrating when you are trying to send emails or surf the internet. I wish they could fix this issue ! The nice things about this park: The employees are friendly and courteous. The park is kept clean. The pool looks nice too. We used the laundry facilities and that was very nice too. They have a small store (Which we didn't need), but it looks good. The park fees (Good Sam discounts too) are a little more than the average park in other locations. I would stay here again because it is really the ONLY place within this county to stay. Benbow is an hour south of here, and then there is a funky place on the north end of Eureka. read more

In residence 8 days. Full hookup site. Wonderful accommodation, very friendly and courteous staff. Clean restrooms and free showers. Non heated pool. Wonderful heated spa! Well stocked general store. Reasonably priced propane on site. This RV park is close to everything! Samoa cookhouse, Samoa dunes, Eureka, Redwoods, Redwoods and Redwoods! This truly is Humbolt county! Several RV service and repair shops within 1 mile. This came in handy when my toilets flush paddle snapped off. The park is clean and full of amenities. Cabins are a plus when larger non-rv groups attend. Thank you Riverwalk for a wonderful stay! PS, I was unable to attend but they had a Thanksgiving potluck for all in residence. This park sucks. Here's s copy of an email we sent. Haven't heard back from them: To whom it may concern: My husband and I travel to the Oregon coast once a year. We had heard about what a nice place Riverwalk was, so I cancelled plans to travel Interstate 5 and reserved Riverwalk for 2 nights. Unfortunately, 48 hours beforehand, we had notice that we needed to be home sooner. I requested to cancel the 2nd night. I was told "I have to ask corporate", and was given your email to appeal, as apparently you denied refunding us payment for our second night stay. We are here now and all sites are full. I am not happy with the uncooperative response from your company and I'm sure you realize the power of the Internet. We really need to leave tomorrow. Thank you for your consideration. So we burned $50 and left this rude place. Never going back here. read more

Pretty nice facilities but the staff is very rude if your under forty. Rented a camping spot and was immediately threatened "to be kicked out" if we caused any problems all before we even unpacked. We made no noise and never garnered a complaint from the other guests but when a friend visited and inquired about staying they were rude told us they werent a party camp again for no reason and ran him off! What a bunch of rude people. The internet doesn't really work well in the tented area at all either. They recommend you walk to the kitchen area with your computer to use it. read more
