Within two minutes, our reservation was set, and less than 15 minutes later when we arrived, he welcomed us with a big smile. Johnny truly went above and beyond. He shared a bit of the property's history during check-in and even met us at our site to help guide our RV into place. The next morning, we enjoyed a peaceful walk along the beach with our dogs--such a beautiful and relaxing experience. If you're passing through, definitely make this a stop--you won't regret it!

The grounds around the RV park were in poor condition. The grass between the sites were very long. No edging either. The WiFi was good and the place was clean otherwise. The big problem was the street access coming into and exiting the RV Park was terrible! Pit holes so large you would of thought land mines had gone off. This is unacceptable!!! Going in and out each day was a major chore. Kind wouldn't stay here again unless the road is fixed. Oh heck no!!!!!

The park now has dead grass and the trash bins are wedged under low hanging branches. We reserved a certain site for one-night but when we arrived at 3:30 PM, the office was closed and someone was in our site. We waited 30 minutes and no one called back at the numbers listed. So we checked their online reservation system (Campspot) for another empty spot and just decided to park there. We didn't want to hook up for fear we would be asked to move. We had an appointment in town and so we left a note on our door with our phone number. No one ever called our entire time there. We will NOT stay there again.

As for events, You name the event, I've probably been to it. Auto racing, the circus, I saw the lippizaner stallions here the Sunday flea market. The annual Redwood Acres Fair, (it's a small fair that runs for about a week, but it's always fun.). And one of the funniest shows I ever saw here, was called "extreme midget wrestling." I recently attended one of their summertime monthly events, called "acres of eats." a good sized selection of food trucks/trailers, entertainment, activities for the kids, etc. It was a wide selection of food. I had. A stew and an empanada from a Colombian food trailer. It was absolutely delicious, and the price was very reasonable. If you have a chance to go to this event, or anything else else at Redwood acres, it's worth it. I hope Redwood acres lasts for a long time coming. It's a wonderful asset to Eureka.

Additionally, the event (forgot the name) allowed the students to go on a hay ride and sit inside of a parked helicopter where race cars /monster trucks arena is usually held. Overall, it is a nice place to experience large events to small events like the county covid testing area.

I was here in June for a family reunion to see relatives, I had not seen in 50 years. It's even possible one of them had worked here as a maid in the 70s or 80s so that was really interesting. It was her old stomping ground. She lived here the rest of the family live nearby. This is a throwback to the 1970s which is why it's so charming and I think that's why so many people would love it. I didn't get to walk the grounds until the last day but there is actually an old-fashioned 70s style arcade with pinball machine machines it's just exactly like how it was when we were kids in the 70s and went camping with our parents. That's the type of stuff you would find. There's an old gathering hall in the back with wood floors that hasn't been used probably forever, which is gorgeous, there's a little Arboretum in the middle of the square that they light up every night with little violet lights. It's beautiful and you can tell that was an old area where there's a fountain that's no longer working. All charming and quaint. There's a little fire pit you can walk to in the back that looks like the type of fire pit we had at camp in 1975. It just has that old vibe that everyone loves and is disappearing everywhere so I pray they never change anything, but I don't think they will. The cabins are the same they're old-fashioned and beautiful however, inside they have been somewhat modernized because that's the world we live in people would be upset if things were original I wouldn't but a lot of people would. I found it to be gorgeous and quiet. The only complaint I had and they did give me back some money for that and I really do appreciate that is that my little mini fridge was rocking and making a lot of noise all night and that did keep me from sleeping, that was rough. I'm a light sleeper and I found the rooms to be cold because it's regulated heat and I didn't know I could go up and ask for a space heater or bring one so I didn't now I know. To answer the question would I come back again?? 100% I loved it there and of course the kitchenette was filled with everything you need, I didn't take a shower there which sounds bad because I was freezing, but the showers were clean. The bathrooms were nice. The room was small, but really good for the price. I do plan to come back next May and hopefully I'm on great terms with them. I think my little complaints or issues were reasonable and fair or they wouldn't have refunded but I'm glad that they did and I'm glad I brought it up so the next person doesn't go through those issues and I'm glad that I'm letting people know if you do get cold there. You can ask for a space heater or bring your own but just make sure you let them know. Let them know you brought it because space heaters are fire hazards and you don't want to cause trouble in a beautiful area like this Also, they did have an incredible campground which I left out so there was an area for RVs and then in the back there were actual pads where people had tents and camping gear and all I thought was wow I wish I could do that next time maybe my cousin will do that with me for a day or two and I can have the cabin as well oh, and I did forget to mention that some of the cabins had fireplaces which I think I will try to get next Time. My wife, her mom, and I came here as our second stop (09:05) on day five of our Northern California road trip. There is a big parking lot with plenty of spots to shop and admire. The gift shop is named Burl N' Drift Redwood and had a lot of souvenirs made out of recovered redwood. We ended up buying a few things. At the west end of the parking lot, there is a thousand year old-growth redwood. It has survived a lightning strike, a loggers axe, and a forest fire, symbolizing the resiliency of the mighty redwoods. It's worth stopping by to take a picture or two.

Full hook ups. Bathrooms are relatively clean. This is where it gets weird. I wanted to shower one evening. When I entered the steamy bathhouse I discovered a man partially clothed laying on the floor in the shower-hot water running. I immediately asked if he was okay. He said nothing but closed the shower curtain. I suddenly felt creeped to take my shower. But I did so watching my back. I told the gals in the office what I saw. They did not act surprised as though it was a common occurrence. What the hell is that?? Another thing I noticed about this park; there appeared to be some rather permanent campers lurking throughout the park. Perhaps years. Potted plants, junk piled around their campers, and dog fencing is not an overnight thing. The overall vibe of this place saddened me.

In fact we decided to stay another night, although we moved to the site next to us because the first one was a bit uneven. We were a little surprised they labeled these back sites as "ocean view" since you really can't see any of it through the trees, though you can hear the ocean in the distance which is nice. We were ok with that but in my opinion is false advertizing. The grounds are very clean, pretty well maintained, and very quiet at night. The sites in our area all had fire pits, and small decks with a picnic table. The showers do not require coins and the water is hot. There is also a hot tub near the office although we didn't have time to use it. We would stay here again and I recommend it to others.
