There are many plush velvet couches to enjoy the performance while sipping on libations. Our servers were extremely fast and friendly - no doubt a feat given the large crowd in attendance. If you like great food, drinks, ambiance and live entertainment this is the place for you! A bit pricey, but itself worth it for the experience. The speciality drinks are really good. I didn't like the Paloma, but everything else I had was great. I had the wagyu burger with fries, and the tuna poke tostada off the bar bites section of the menu. First off the burger was an entree size, not an appetizer size. Second, the beef was delicious and well seasoned. The tuna poke tostada was also very generous in portion size and flavor was almost like a hint of BBQ; interesting in a good way. Lots of lounging areas, big bar, and a dining area off tthe back. Great spot for a classy night out with friends or date spot! They do Jazz nights every Monday, and Salsa every Wednesday! Allergy tip- our waitress advised to stay away from the fries as I have a peanut/nut allergy. The frier might be cross contaminated as they fry other items in there. Monday tonight jazz , the music was good The hotel parking is valet only and they charge $20 a hour then one of the hotel workers said they charge $30 for two hours either way I didn't pay it I parked at the mall and paid $3 and walked over to the hotel which is where the riviera 31 lounge is They charge $100 to seat in the reserve seating or spend $100 minimum ( seats were you can see the band) The side seating where you cant see the band are free and you don't have to order food Also they included 20 percent gratuity which the witness only checked in once , I could have let without paying literally because she forgot all about us. The food is nasty, there is no seasoning. I had the calamari and chicken salad sandwich both were not good, do not buy it . If they believe you don't have money their body language and how they treat you shows The ambiance was nice since it was in December ever thing was beautiful but the hotel definitely was sure to let were know they were Jews which was okay I really didn't mind . I spent $71 on the calamari and chicken salad sandwich including a $15 water It's really not worth it honestly read more

Inside the Mondrian this is a very sexy Vibe outdoors to the right of the inside bar. The bar and dance area is still closed but the garden is open for food drinks and socializing , not 6 feet distance. Def dress to impress here or be casual cool. Valet is $25 but if you are in heels you will just have to cough it up. Drinks are not strong but tasty AF. Food is eh and easy miss but it's really hard to socialize here without some sexy drink in hand! They make mock tails too but just one on menu. This is not really a bar mind you, so don't go crazy ordering. Def a bit me up spot, great music and vibe. So very LA. read more

Came here for a fun night with friends. We spent a lot of our time at the bar ordering drinks and as much as I don't mind waiting the attitude from the bar tender was ridiculous. He was extremely rude, rolled his eyes at us many times. We kept walking around the bar to see if someone else could serve us because he was rude to many people not just my group. We were polite and we were tipping him on TOP of the 20% they already slap on there. The music was amazing but they need to check the customer service at the bar. I had high hopes for jazz night at the riviera 31. My friend told me it was amazing music, nice mixed group of people.. but he forgot to mention the terrible service which he soon remembered once i shared my experience with him. So if 5 is excellent I'll rate what i felt specifically below. Ambiance : 4, nice place dimly lit enough seating and or standing room Food: 3., it wasn't great but wasn't terrible i have the crispy sweet potato and fennel and a salad. Ordering process/ service if you don't have a table reserved : 1, cocktail waitresses don't even want to answer questions, you are forced to get up From lounge seating to order everything and then they want you to come back to bar in10-15min to pick up your own plate and walk it back to wherever with your flat wear and drink and go eat wherever. I was completely shocked by this. Terrible way to serve people or add to an experience. It actually took away from my experience. Especially when my bill was $105 for 1 drink, 1 sparkling water, salad, and crispy sweet potatoes. Bartenders: 0 terrible service from all staff it's clear they aren't having fun which is sad because it's a nice place Music: 5! Band was great they had a variety of singers and played oldies. I wouldn't go back. There is no service, you have to go to an understaffed bar to get a drink. The music wasn't great, wasn't bad, but the band leader is rude -- reminds me of a low-grade stand-up comic as he tries to embarrass audience members. I would say the silver lining is the show is free, but the parking is $25 and I wouldn't have paid $25 for a ticket to the show. read more

The guy at the front did not greet us or acknowledge us until i asked where the jazz lounge was. This lounge is part of the Sofitel Hotel, on the first floor. There's an entrance from the outside or you can walk through the hotel. Once you enter the hotel, turn right immediately and walk down the hall. Absolutely love the vibe here. The outdoor area is pretty small and intimate, with a variety of seating including couches and high tables. We came on a Saturday night and they had a DJ playing a mix of hip hop, dance, top 40 and throwback songs. The food and drinks were surprisingly good. I loved the salmon and fried oysters and I think the chef really outdid himself. They have a pretty extensive drink list and prices are on par with hotel fare. Perfect for a date night or GNO. There was a birthday party here too, so it looks like you can request to section off a portion of the space for a large group. read more

So I came here for a event called a silent party. Which means you listen to music through headphones and you have the option to switch through 3 different stations with 3 different DJ's. The DJs were all lit! And it was kind of cool because they were battling to see how many people would party on their station.They played today's Hip Hop and R&B, Oldies but Goodies and Dance music This idea is pretty cool and I really enjoy myself we had so much fun. I was with my fiancé and my sister along with a group of friends! Before entering, you had to give your ID in exchange for the headphones. This was to ensure that you return the headphones. They also gave you a wristband so that you can walk in and out of the venue as you please. Because for a period of time it was really hot. They did have a bar which was located in the back of the venue. There were also lounge chairs and other access areas for you to sit and listen to music. Everything about this event was lit! The problem I have is. I ordered a drink and paid for it with my debit card. The next day I'm checking my Mobile Banking because, that's what I normally do when I go out and run my card at a bar or lounge. I have a charge on my card for $20 at a restaurant in a different city that I don't even go to and never been too! I don't appreciate whichever bartender, thought it was okay to take my debit card information and make purchases the very next day. This has happened to me before at a bar. And this is the very reason why I bring cash but I didn't have time to stop. (Silly Me) Thankfully it was only $20 but imagine the damage they could have done if I didn't check my mobile bank statements. Came through after a business conference at the hotel and I decided to grab a drink at the bar before heading out for the evening. I was drawn over to this place by the vibrant colored piano and unique artwork, but I really wanted to hear some of the chill bongo music played by live players. ' Had a subpar experience when I settled in. Not very full and the bartenders seemed very content with doing their own thing. I assumed they were on break, but I ended up waiting for a bit to grab a drink while I sat in one of the velvety chairs. Had the "Watercolor". Visually the drink pops and reminds you of 2nd art class but the taste left a lot to be desired and on top of that, it was really weak. The best place to go on a Wednesday night for LIVE Music Salsa dancing and the Dj plays Bachata and other hits. Great dance floor which the recently changed. Great open space, great vibes great food and Drinks. Looking at $15 per drinks. Wednesday there is no cover they also opened up a bar outside in there beautiful outside area where smoking is allowed and there are plenty of chairs and tables to get some fresh air from dancing the whole night. I have never stayed that the hotel but I am always here on a Wednesday night for salsa dancing and mingling. This place is sooooo fancy and love coming here and meeting new people from all over. Ferrari is the redeeming quality to their services. The music and ambiance is incredible. They have a defaulted 20% gratitude fee to all their services so good or bad- 20% is what you give... an older whites woman with blonde hair was rude, short, and limited in service. She had no clue that they were still offering food service, she was short, and she had the nerve to pass a menu and then ask, "what do you want?" There were two things wrong with her approach, 1. She didn't know they were offering food until our party mentioned another server had shared they were 2. I came here on a Thursday night for a mixer with a bunch of LA-based alumni organizations from several different colleges. My friends and I had a great night at Riviera 31! It had a cool, posh French lounge vibe, complete with lots of mirrors and decor in deep purple, maroon, and black hues. My first drink was their Veeva lemonade cocktail, and it was VERY weak. It was too sweet and not that good. I decided to go with my usual Corona for my 2nd drink order....you can never go wrong with Corona, am I right? We also had some of their bar bites: a flatbread and the trio of fries. Both dishes were great and hit the spot! Their bar food options are nothing spectacular, but they are tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Riviera 31! The music was right of my alley -- deep house and some downtempo electronic (can you tell I like the Sirius XM Chill station?). Worst bar experience in my life! The bartenders were extremely rude and took advantage of the automatic 20% gratuity. My bartender, a short Mexican man, tried to overcharge me, then yelled at me for pointing out his mistake. Furthermore, the crowd was uncontrolled. Older men were pulling my arm and grabbing my behind to force me into a dance. I felt extremely violated and left after 10 min. Great live music venue here. Walked in this past Friday and saw an amazing jazz/funk band. I think they're a resident there on Fridays called Parlor Social. They were great, I would definitely return to see more live music. It kind of reminded me of Sayers Club but inside of the Sofitel hotel. I came here a few months ago with some friends on a Tuesday night and had such a great time. The food and drinks were on point, music was fantastic, the crowd was chic and our waitress was charming and attentive (thank you Farah Shea!!!). After that night, I kept raving about Riviera 31 (located inside the Sofitel) to my bf. So tonight, I finally convinced him to stop for a night cap on the way home. The first sign of bad things to come, was the crowd. The only way I can accurately describe it is if I were on the east coast, they would be referred to as a "bridge and tunnel" demographic. Second sign was the music. We walked in on a horrific lounge singer singing *original* songs, which caused more damage than a sharp pencil being shoved into my eardrums would have (which I would have welcomed at that point). She was belting out corny songs while donning a Madonna "Blonde Ambition" ponytail (circa 1990) and what appeared to be platform Skechers. Instead of being relieved from terrible music when she was done, they began playing yesterday's reggaeton. My bf ordered us vodka cocktails and requested Belvedere. What we actually got was something that smelled like acetone. Too bad the two waitresses, were too busy talking among themselves to actually do their job, come over and actually check on us. What used to be known as the Stone Rose Lounge has reinvented itselt as Riviera 31. Located in the Sofitel Hotel, this a great location! Still the same is the great outdoor seating area, plush with couches and little areas to collect up with friends. Plenty of out door heaters to keep you warm on those chilly nights. Great service by friendly servers (Maimie went out of her way to make my friend a Sazerac) and music that won't hurt your ears. This was a perfect place for us to relax after a crazy day of premiere parties around the LA area. We also enjoyed a nightcap at the large indoor bar and were served again by a friendly bartender. After attending a professional conference in one of the banquet halls of the Sofitel hotel, my fiance and I decided to grab a drink at the bar before heading home. Walking down the dark, red hallway leading to Riviera 31 and the Esterel restaurant, slow and low bongo beats could be heard behind the walls. I felt as if forest nymphs were going to pop out from behind the couches and dance around me in some strange acceptance ritual. Moving on... When we get to the entrance of Riviera 31, we were greeted by two hosts behind a podium. A tall gentleman asked if we were just upstairs for the conference; to which we said 'yes' and gave the conference name. The other woman furiously looked through her papers on the podium and belted out some hesitant noises that I could not comprehend. The man was able to decipher her noises and had the audacity to tell us to go to a different bar in the patio. Apparently, the show that was just about to go on in the lounge seemed to be exclusive. *eye roll* Regardless, we walk through the restaurant and out to the patio to find no bar set up. Frustrated, we decide to stop wasting our time walking around to find a place to spend some money for drinks and proceeded to leave. Just as we pass the bar on our way out, the gentleman comes chasing after us and says that we are, in fact, allowed to go into the bar. *eye roll again* At this point, I felt like I needed a drink to calm down from the duck chase, and I'm glad we went in. The lounge is beautiful, dark and mysterious. The performance of the night actually did involve forest nymphs! Two sexy, practically naked fairies come out from behind the curtains and prop themselves upon chaises and begin to writhe against the wall to the slow, low-beat bongo drums. The bar is rather small with a wrap around table and a few chairs to sit on. There are sofas all around in front of the stage and plenty of outdoor seating. I would return for the strangely seductive ambiance and performance, but the gate keepers need to be a little more welcoming when people just want to give them business. read more

Have to say this is one of our favorite destination bar/lounge spots in Los Angeles. Mainly because it is all inclusive so we don't really have to go any where else for any reason other than a change of scenery. This bar/lounge has it all: drinks, food, entertainment on most nights & has a gorgeous Monte Carlo lounge type feel indoor space, as well as an even more beautiful outdoor area with booths and another lovely open area toward the back). The drinks are amazing & I personally am one for specialty cocktails, which theirs are really nice. Service is always pleasant. Haven't ever had any issues with bar service or table service any of the many times we have been there, even on the busy nights service is good; not as quick as when not so busy, but that is expected on any night that a bar is crazy busy. We gather a group together a couple times a month on random nights for social business meetings, other nights for personal time, definitely a must to go on jazz night (Monday) & the weekends just for fun & the really rather great entertainment that is booked there. Oh and almost forgot, we have been greeted by management a couple times at our table and the bar making sure we are having a good time and so on. And now they recognize us every time we come now. Live music is great and that's what I came for. Singer I wanted to listen came up on stage and I wasn't able to listen properly and enjoy because the bartender was taking so long to make drinks. If I'm not mistaken a long hair brunette. Another girl ( blond ) was quick though but she wasn't serving me. If there is a bar full of people bartenders have to work fast. I was one ones too. Came here for a pre-party during my bachelorette. We got bottle service, and had 3 different flatbreads. Service was great. The flatbreads were really good. We had a mushroom one, a salami (?) one, and a tomato and basil (probably margherita?) one. Someone else ordered, so I cannot be sure of what exactly I was eating. I loved the margherita, and did not get to try the mushroom one, but I think everyone else liked the mushroom one the best. Atmosphere is jazzy and loungey. I love it! They played good jazz music.
