I liked the concept of this bar - a working bar during the day! I visited this bar on an early Sunday afternoon to get some work done and my experience was pretty good. The interior was your typical bar setting with bar seating as well as small tables and chairs available throughout the space. While none of the chairs had back support, it was still relatively okay. They had WiFi and charging outlets as well. For drinks, I ordered one of their mocktails. I forgot the name, but it had watermelon in it. It was pretty good and tasty! I loved how all the fruity flavors meshed well together and that no one flavor was too overpowering. It was refreshing on a sunny day. The service here was also great. I liked the effort our bar tender gave to accommodate my friend and I such as pushing the small tables together to give us more room. Visited for the first time on Sunday and to my surprise they had Happy Hour martinis . We were there a couple hours and had a great time. There are great people who work here from the servers to bartenders to the very very special Constance Cooper. Constance is more than a maître D she is the D.J. of your evening. It's important to note they have very special hours too and are open in daytimes too so check after waking up as this is a perfect spot to start the party back up again! We were in Wednesday night for a post birthday dinner drink. We'd come from "Maydan Market" for dinner where we experienced true and exceptional service. Upon arriving we were coldly informed by the bartender (maybe Eric ? Mid - late 40s Caucasian male ) that the bar would be closing @midnight even though it was only about 11. Both of our drinks, a margarita and a cosmo were syrupy and sweet - after a couple sips each we decided to have them remade. I politely let the bartender know that the drinks were too sweet only to be met with rudeness "you should have ordered it skinny " ! A cosmo "IS sweet " ! " if that's not good you should probably get something else "I DONT THINK THATS WHAT YOU WANT" was his closing statement , and that is what earned him and the establishment this review. I did not want to engage as I was on a date - but thought it worth mentioning that for those prices service with a smile should be included - we will not be returning and will spread the word- very disappointing as a local that frequents bars regularly. read more

It was our first time here and I am so glad I found this place! Honestly I was looking for a place that served a great cosmo! And I mean not in a coupe glass like a lot of new places do now. No. A coupe is not a martini. I love a beautiful martini glass and I literally chose this place knowing that they have beautiful martinis! That being said, we sat at the bar top (we prefer over a table) and Matthew took amazing care of us! I love the vibe already with the beautiful chandelier and decor. Drinks are fantastic! I'm obsessed with cosmos right now so I got their version of it and my fiancé got the OR Old Fashioned. We had reservations down the street and needed a little happy hour before dinner. They have an amazing happy hour: I got pics of most of the menu. It got busy after we arrived a little after 6pm so it's a popular spot. We parked on the street with metered parking so we got lucky, otherwise I'm not sure about parking: I think there is a paid lot behind the building. Disappointed After a great dinner in West Hollywood last night, our group of four decided to stop by OR Bar for a drink. It was just a few steps away. As we opened the door, an older gentleman in heavy makeup quickly approached us and said, "Let me talk to you outside," before closing the door behind him. He claimed the bar was at capacity and suggested we try other places. Strange, considering there was no line outside, and I could clearly see through the window that the bar had plenty of empty space. When I pointed this out, he backtracked and said, "You can wait, but I don't think you'll get in." Mind you, we had just come from dinner. No one in our group was wearing flip-flops, tank tops, or anything remotely sloppy. We were dressed appropriately and respectfully, yet still treated like we didn't meet some invisible standard. I've been to OR Bar before. It's a decent-looking spot, drinks are mediocre at best, but I thought it'd be a fun place to show my friends. Instead, we were met with unnecessary pretentiousness and what felt like selective and dismissive behavior. We then decided to walk over to Arden, just steps away. Total opposite experience. The bartenders and staff were super friendly, the drinks were delicious, and we ended up having a great time there. Not sure what vibe OR Bar is trying to create at the door, but having someone with that kind of dismissive attitude greeting guests is not the way to do it. The music was great and the seating is made for small groups of two that can easily expand. The seasonal drink menu was refreshing and for the summer seasons vibe. My group and I decided to come here for a friend's birthday. This establishment was nice enough to reserve us two tables for group of 13 people just hours before arriving! Food - There wasn't too much food, just a bit of snacks like charcuterie boards, nuts, and quiches. But they had an extensive list of cocktails ranging different types of liquors, wines, and non alcoholics. I ordered the Quench which was almost like a Watermelon Mojito but with no actual mint leaves inside which was super tasty and refreshing. No one in my group had any complaints on drinks. They all loved it! Service - I didn't get his name but he was an asian guy. He was very friendly and attentive. Our groups was moving back and forth to the tables that we had but he still managed to remember which drinks belongs to which table especially when it came down to the checks. As a server, that is one of the most annoying things to do is when people move around. Our server also offered to split everyones check but we did not want to be a problem so we offered to just do it on one card. Management should not lose this guy! Ambiance - Dark but with some lightings in some areas playing same great oldies music which kept the vibe going the whole time. This is a perfect spot for date night or to come out with big groups. Cute ambiance, sweet drinks that are a little light on alcohol, and an extremely rude waiter that makes this a 1-star review. We came around 9pm on a weekend, the place was pleasantly popping but not too crowded. When we walked in we were seated at the bar. We ordered 4 drinks total in 2 rounds. On our second round of drinks, the bald waiter in drag makeup kept glaring at us and felt like loathing embodied. My partner had their jacket a little on the bar, which may be a huge faux pas and if so that's on us. Imo the jacket was contained to our space but this waiter kept pushing the jacket toward us. Taking the hint, I apologized and grabbed the jacket and put it on my lap. This man proceeds to glare at us every time he passes or is at the bar to pick up drinks. We finished our drinks quickly, paid, and then my partner went to use the restroom really quick. The bald waiter returns and asks with straight up venom in his voice lol if my partner is returning or did he leave. I tell the waiter he's in the bathroom and will be back. Mind you my partner is in the bathroom maybe 4 mins max. This waiter comes up to me two more times and asks if my partner left and if I was sure he was coming back. I tell the waiter again yes he's coming back, we already paid and will be leaving soon. The waiter comes back again and tells me he has people that want to sit at the bar. I stand up and go "oh no problem! I can stand to the side or wait outside for my boyfriend." He tells me no no to sit, but he's clearly irritated. He comes back again to tell me he wants our seats for people. Ok cool, I grab my stuff and stand up. Nope, he tells me to sit with a glare and a side of malice. My boyfriend returns at this moment and we promptly leave. I thought maybe the rudeness was all in my head. But my partner's first remarks outside were about how that waiter was bad vibes all night. I honestly felt targeted. This man made a point to make us feel unwelcome. I'd like to think we're respectful, chill customers but if there were any issues they could have been communicated to us.
