We decided to try somewhere different for Cinco De Mayo and chose Riviera Mayo. The atmosphere was perfect and all the staff were dressed up and happy. Our server was Mateo and he did a great job. Suddenly around the corner comes our favorite server from our local Mexican Restaurant, Jose! He has been our favourite for a long time. He explained some of the menu items and recommended a couple. Love the food!!! Both my husband, a carnivore, and I, a vegetarian, can find amazing options. He loves the tender steak; I can't get enough of the veggie fajita. The black beans are great too, with tomatoes and cilantro mixed in. Love the service!! Immediately after being seated someone is at the table offering drinks and appetizers, while delivering salsa and chips, and the attention is consistent throughout the visit. Every request is met with a positive response (and a smile). Love the atmosphere!! The booths are comfortable and the artwork is beautiful. Riviera Maya is an extremely welcoming, friendly and satisfying experience. Having it so close to our new home is a definite bonus. Looking for tacos after floating down the river, we stumbled upon Riviera Maya. The first thing that catches your attention is the B-E-A-utiful artwork everywhere. We had a big party and each of us was greeted with a smile. It set the tone for the great service we received the whole experience. Then, my eyes caught two words.........Margarita...Pitchers!!!!!!. So we immediately ordered 2. One that our server recommended, and then before moving forward with my request, I had to ask if I could Burger King the flavor combo and have it my way. So Jalapeño, watermelon, and cucumber is the route I went. DELISH with a nice little kick. We ordered enough food to feed a small army, and all of it was great. I had to do my true taco test, which includes trying their Tacos de lengua. If they don't have it on their menue period they are posers. The meat was super tender, and the Tacos were bout as authentic as they came around these parts. Just meat, onions, cilantro, and lime and enjoy. Side note.......You get rice and refried beans with your tacos....... the thing you think is a hot sauce is not. It's a very flavorful MOJO, and you can dang near throw on everything. I ordered the chicken enchilada suizas.... I'm used to having stewed chicken instead of grilled chicken pieces inside the tortillas. Lacks flavor. They were covered with some kind of cheesy mess and a little tomatillo sauce I think instead of a creamy Suiza sauce. The refried beans had a watered down taste in my opinion and the rice seemed to be from a box or premade....again all just my opinion. My husband and I have eaten here 3 times and loved the food and service each time. I personally think the interior is creepy colorful but can easily overlook it with such good food. Tried this place for the first time today and really liked it! Ordered the Texas Fajitas which had chicken, steak, and shrimp. The portions were huge. We had a large party of around 10 people and the service was outstanding. There were probably 4 different servers helping to refill drinks, bring out food, etc. My parents joined us and ordered burritos that were also large and covered with different kinds of salsas/sauces & queso. Definitely a good option if looking for a good place to eat in Dunnellon. read more

The food lacks any flavor and no spice at all. It's like going to a geriatric cafeteria which makes bland food. The ground beef used for tacos, enchiladas and all other beef dishes was just cooked ground beef with no flavor or spice. Service was good after we were seated. Had to ask if we seat ourselves out if they assist. The decor is the typical motif. Ambiance is lacking, music is so loud everyone speaks loud to compete read more

I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars and I will review again in a few months. I feel that this restaurant was only open for a week or so therefore they may need to make additions. On my first visit I ordered a fajita (beef). It was hot but had problems, there was no sour cream but that was minor. The main problem the meat, it was overcooked and extremely tough plus the meat wasn't cut through causing to pull the meat with one side in my had the other in my mouth and pulling with hand to separate, there were no knives on the table. Oh course the meat had no flavor because the meat was cook way to much. I will return for an update in a few months read more

I lived in Alcapulco Mx for about 3 years and their food was known to be some of the best in Mexico. I have been to so many different restaurants and the food was not the same until now. I found out that they made Pozole, which is only made on the western side of Mexico, and it is served every Thursday as a tradition. So I went to Riviera Maya to try theirs, and the memories came flooding back to me. The owner has to be from the western side of Mexico, the food is exceptional. I have been there twice in two weeks and will be back for more. Worth the 30-minute drive. A the decor is beautiful and service is great! read more
